ESPN radio reporting Mets/White Sox talks heating up...
joejoesox replied to Fantl916's topic in Pale Hose Talk
QUOTE (Kalapse @ Nov 22, 2008 -> 07:43 PM) Except when he doesn't ala Thome, Vazquez, Garcia to the Phillies, Pierzynski . . . there were plenty of rumors of each before the actual deals went down. one may suggest miguel cabrera as well, wasn't jermaine reportedly pissed that KW missed on him, and then it was mentioned somewhere that Kenny was pissed off that one of his deals squeaked through the cracks and became public knowledge? -
So can someone just come out and say Swisher was a coke-head, instead of beating around the bush? Or at least say what you're trying to say, this is just confusing otherwise.
-
QUOTE (dww879 @ Nov 13, 2008 -> 02:39 PM) Konerko, Thome or Dye all should have been traded instead of Swisher HAHAHAHAHAHA No. Thank god Swish is gone, is all I'm gonna say.
-
QUOTE (winninguglyin83 @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 08:50 PM) story in tomorrow's Tribune says that two NL scouts say Kenny Williams is shopping Jermaine. The Sell High theory. and he will probably have more suitors than Thome or PK. Also says that Jenks could be moved. Sounds like Kenny is trying to be creative and get younger.' http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseb...0,7366873.story I can see it now, Jenks and Jermaine gone, we pick up a few minor leaguers that aren't MLB ready, and we get Tavaras in CF, moving Swisher to RF 3rd place, here we come!

Some more names that might make sense to KW

QUOTE (wilmot825 @ Nov 12, 2008 -> 12:54 PM) Fukudome....I'd rather have Michael Jordan play for the Sox again. Atleast he looked semi-athletic in a batters box unlike Fukudome who corkscrews into the ground every swing. Uribe (to Fukudome): "The summer me..." Fukudome (to Uribe): "The winter me..." And no, I'm not comparing the two players talent for f***s sake -
I also find it interesting that the two teams that've been mentioned with Dye's name are both in the same division Could Kenny be intentionally playing the Mets & Phils into a "Whoever gets there first, wins!" I doubt it, but it's fun to think about

Sh*t, they're on to us. Get it done Kenny!

Poreda more than likely to the pen in 2009
joejoesox replied to caulfield12's topic in Pale Hose Talk
I wouldn't be surprised in the slightest if Poreda & Konerko are somehow dealt in the off-season for a CF/Leadoff man, with Swisher moving to 1B Seems like an under the radar type of move, with Kenny's comments about swisher not being in CF, and how "he better" hit higher than .219 in 2009 Arizona have a need for a stud lefty like Poreda, and a decent 1B? edit: wanted to clarify, i'm not saying all we would be getting is a CF/Leadoff guy (1 player), and nothing else for those two players, i was merely stating that would be one piece of the return IMO -
what, realistically would the phillies have that would make our team better by giving them jermaine? i'm hearing the names Geoff Jenkins, JA Haap, Greg Golson pop up i want nothing to do with any of those 3 players for a guy of Jermaine's caliber

QUOTE (forrestg @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 10:46 AM) I listened to Obama"s speech after winning the election but I heard that when he becomes president that Whitesox players will not have to pay any income taxes so many players will come to the whitesox sign for less because they won't have to pay income taxes. The whitesox will be known as "America" team" LOL

QUOTE (NCsoxfan @ Nov 6, 2008 -> 10:08 AM) Would this lineup be attainable? 3B - Figgins 2B - Cano LF - Quentin DH - Thome RF - Dye 1B - Swisher SS - Ramirez C- AJ CF - DeJesus in my opinion, not in our wildest dreams
-
How the f*** isn't Manny Ramirez the worst LF in the game?
-
QUOTE (joeynach @ Nov 2, 2008 -> 03:42 PM) Garcia has had surgery and been out of baseball and has had a considerable loss in velocity and effectiveness. Ur asking me to compare apples to oranges. The point was someone said if KW can trade Vazquez to fill other holes and replace his mediocre #s with someone more affordable (and less frustrating) then he would probably do it. Well all Im saying is Garland might be that replacement. Garland won't be "affordable" in his walk year, he's going to get an 8-10m contract from somebody
-
i remember when josh went deep off Santana twice in the same game i refuse to give up on him after a season where he was plagued by a knee injury
-
What's Brandon Inge's contract situation?
-
QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Oct 27, 2008 -> 09:53 PM) Do they also have mutton chops? "I'm sorry George... You gotta get a job!" "...........Dammit."
-
it's a shame Swisher can't play 3rd

QUOTE (Brian @ Oct 14, 2008 -> 03:16 PM) Still funny to think that joesaiditstrue in one of the playoff game threads said Upton was a similar hitter than Juan Uribe. Too funny. Still funny to think that you're still not smart enough to understand the comment I made. Meanwhile, I called the Rays winning the American League and looks like I'll be right about that. -
when does the trade wire start officially? december?
-
you guys think swisher could ever be a .280/.390/.850 40/100 guy in a sox uniform at 1B?
-
watching that video, any doubts i had of konerko's bat speed are gone, he still has a really quick swing
-
QUOTE (beck72 @ Oct 11, 2008 -> 05:18 AM) I agree with Jenks and Mark. But trading Quentin, Ramirez, Floyd or Danks would rank juat as high in my book. i have nowhere near the emotional attachment to those 4 players as i do dye/jenks/buerhle, it will come with time i'm sure
-
there's really only three players on this team that i would throw a hissy fit if we traded dye, jenks, and buehrle i have no logical reasoning for my love for these guys, though the 2005 world series has a lot to do with it i'm sure
