  1. You people that would rather have Swisher than Dye because "Swisher's value is low right now" lol...
  2. Alexei, i see a .270-ish average for him in 2009
  3. The Mariners would never deal Ichiro, he is the face of that franchise. Hell Nintendo owns 49% of the team, I believe. Japanese-american culture is a huge part of that baseball team, and Ichiro is the brand-name of it. I'd be completely blown away if the Mariners trade him
  4. QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 04:51 AM) it won't happen. Glad Kenny Williams is the gm and not you. what won't happen?
  5. QUOTE (rangercal @ Oct 7, 2008 -> 03:40 AM) Keep Swish. Why would you trade him at his lowest value? Uh, because I would rather have Dye than Swisher. It's a pretty easy decision to make, actually.
  6. If Buerhle would've walked instead of resigning with us, he would've gotten an ACE-like contract, I have no doubt in my mind about that
  7. I want Alexei batting #2 next year. I know he has power and RBI potential, but IMO he's the perfect fit for hitting 2nd. With CQ batting behind him, he's sure to see more fastballs, which he f***ing loves (and i love that he loves them)
  8. Am I alone in thinking he simply doesn't fit into this teams lineup/positions right now? Not with Jim Thome in the lineup, whom also mucks up the water. If Thome is in the lineup, we're basically forced to either: Put Swisher in CF and deal with his slightly sub-par defense (He doesn't get the best reads, and he's not very fast), and look for speed in our lineup at 3B (Unlikely), or 2B/SS ($$$/Prospects&Pieces we don't have to trade IMO) or Trade Jermaine Dye, deal with Thome's subpar hitting (compared to Jermaine) in the DH spot, and find a CF while putting CQ and Swish at the corners. You wanna know what I think? First of all, F*** trading Jermaine. If Kenny deals Dye this offseason, I'll be the most furious, pissed off motherf***er on these boards. Dealing for Swisher, now that we know Quentin is capable of surpassing everyone in our lineup offensively, totally f***ed up the design of this team, offensively and defensively, as he's nothing more than another station-to-station player (And will not get any faster as he gets older) What I *HOPE* happens this offseason: Tell Jim he doesn't fit here, and if he stays, he'll be nothing more than a left-handed bat off the bench. He will not get anywhere close to regular playing time. Keep Dye, put him at DH Swisher in left Quentin in right Konerko at 1B Alexei at either 2B or SS Casey Blake at 3B Try to sign a CF and 2B or SS (wherever Alexei isn't playing). Make sure one of the aforementioned players can leadoff, and has gap-to-gap/linedrive power with a respectable average (.290+) and has a respectable OBP (.365+) I just don't like Swisher taking up a spot with Thome staying at DH, I don't want Dye f***ing traded
  9. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 06:34 PM) I would like OC (obviously) and Thome gone. Uribe back to being the fill in Infielder. Get a decent 3B(Blake perhaps), SS, and a centerfielder. Move Swish to right, Dye at DH. Oh and I'd like to add a starter. Keep Javy in the number 5 slot. Dye at DH I agree with, but I think CQ's natural position is RF, move swish permanently to left Honestly, how bad is Alexei at CF? The only downside I can think of is we'd be lacking in two infield spots
  10. the only positive that comes with the season being over, is my blood pressure has GOT to come down
  11. QUOTE (Frankensteiner @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 06:12 PM) He's probably why we lost. Good post. You fail to grasp the point he was making. Nice try, though. I'll help you out a little bit, he wasn't blaming the season on Orlando Cabrera.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 06:10 PM) I actually think Swisher will have a bounce back season next year. He's young and accomplished enough that it's a reasonable expectation. Let another team take that risk, and give us someone that we need, a high on-base guy with speed that can play CF, and leadoff
  13. I seriously hope Thome, Vazquez, Griffey, Swisher, Cabrera and Uribe are all gone this off-season Make it happen Kenny edit: forgot to add OC that's almost our entire lineup I want traded, what does that say about the white sox
  14. Hey Kenny, here's your boy recording the last out for our season
  15. I would much rather have Dye at DH next year than Thome
  16. Hopefully we'll be able to limit the injuries next year and stay competitive with (hopefully) some new, fresh faces on the Sox Every team in our division next year could be a huge surprise
  17. Longoria has been utter s*** in this series, except against Javy
  18. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 05:53 PM) Absolutely...I have no problem with Balfour, he shoved it up OC's ass. I like the Rays as a team, I'd be rooting for them against LA in the WS, though if Philly makes it.. it'd be hard to root against them, I'm a big fan of Howard, Utley, Rollins, Burrell, and Lidge
  19. This team, IMO, has too many holes to be patched up in 1 off-season, especially with a lot of our expendable players locked up with NTC's or options We have needs at: Centerfield Third Base Second Base #4 Starter #5 Starter (Though, Clayton could fill this role honestly) Leadoff Hitter (Could be solved with one of the previously mentioned positions)
  20. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 05:49 PM) This is just so disheartning. I could live with a loss in game 5 on the road. But I really thought we'd come out smoking this game. i had a hunch sonnanstine would handle us rather easily, it was all up to gavin to hold their hitters down and he couldn't get it done
  21. chone isn't a FA after this year is he? we'd have to trade for him
  22. QUOTE (santo=dorf @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 05:45 PM) How did Balfour put up such great numbers by throwing nothing but fastballs? 97 on the corners
  23. QUOTE (fathom @ Oct 6, 2008 -> 05:43 PM) Be careful what you wish for. I don't want to see Taveras in CF next season, while we give up all of our trade chips for one year of Chone. when did tavaras qualify for high OBP
  24. i'm not watching these asshats celebrate, turning the game off soon
  25. how long have we been harping on this organization to get us some fast+high OBP guys, a leadoff hitter, and a CF and it never happens, year after year?
