  1. QUOTE (G&T @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 08:45 PM) So ends the worst inning I have ever witnessed. Could be season changing...of course, the Sox could come back....but they won't. yeah, it was intolerable and something needs to be done Danks walks leadoff guy after getting ahead 1-2 Thornton comes in, gets an out, throwns a WP, throws a nice fastball to mauer on 3-1 which ties the game Morneau grounds into a force out **** TWO OUTS RUNNER ON FIRST **** No balls time. **** Delmon Young hit by pitch. Runners on 1st and 2nd. Kubel 3-run blast. Anyway, 2-run bomb by JD but we're still not winning this game, such teasers.
  2. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 08:40 PM) In two out of 3 games we had a 4 run lead and lost it in one inning. This time we give it up and THEY get a 3 run lead on US. f***ing unreal. it's your classic no-nuts, scared sh*tless performance when you're playing behind the fans of the other team, our entire bullpen sans Linebrink and Jenks have been like that mostly all year i can't even name how many times i've seen them hold onto pitches too long, causing them to sail past AJ, or walking guys that have sub .230 averages, or throwing meatballs on 2-2 they're just really really bad on the road, because they can't handle the pressure they will be terrible in the playoffs, mark my words, if we get there.
  3. Thornton, Masset (who is now gone), Dotel, Boone are all pussies in pressure situations, have been that way all year Not good when you're in a pennant race, that's for damn sure Grow a pair you sacks of sh**.
  4. LOLOLOLOL Our pitchers have no f***ing balls 7-4 twins
  5. COME ON DOTEL. WHY CAN'T YOU THROW A STRIKE? What's wrong with these guys? Get your heads out of your f***ing asses
  6. a few things 1. matt thornton has no balls in big situations, i've seen this guy pitch scared (like masset) in situations/games like this ever since 2006 2. twins have a huge chance to win this game now IMO, bigger chance than we do 3. not having linebrink in the pen really hurts this team right now
  7. QUOTE (Maxwell @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 03:50 PM) Who cares about long term production? I wasn't commenting on that. Griffey will be patrolling center for the rest of this year, that's it. regular playing time in CF until the season is over, to his legs might be long-term enough
  8. Man I really really really think putting Griffey in CF is a huge mistake, it's a shame we can't put him at another position. People forget we're second to last in the american league in errors, this could be monumentally bad for the team's defense, especially at one of the most demanding positions on the field Don't let people fool you into buying the hype about "He could be rejuvenated.........!", just a load of bologne, he's gonna be bad. you know it, i know it, everyone knows it
  9. QUOTE (Maxwell @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 03:35 PM) I wish there were an option like "I like it and I want him to play center." I'm not loving it, but why would I want him in right? He is probably every bit as good as swish is in center so swish is probably the better 1st baseman. Swish is 27(?) and has not had any previous leg injuries, saying Griffey is just as good as Swisher out there, well that's probably a fallacy, at least in terms of long-term production
  10. Peter Gammons: I think Chicago is the Baseball Capital of this country. @_________________@
  11. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 03:12 PM) You must not be a common sense fan either then. so sick of reading your posts.
  12. Dan Bernstein is such a douchebag. Just like Lawrence, yesterday he was making such a big deal if the Sox lose first place in this series vs the twins. Just now he said "It's not important if they're in first place right NOW." Really Dan? It was important yesterday you stupid f**k.
  13. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 01:46 PM) The only guy on the Sox who I would describe as a "OF/DH type" is Dye, and there is no way they are trading him for pitching help. Dye has a NTC this year i believe, everyone has NTC's lol
  14. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 01:39 PM) 2:37pm: Jeff Blair talked to a source who thinks the White Sox might move one of their outfield-DH types for pitching help. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2008/07/white-sox-acqui.html DH implies poor defensive player, Outfield implies defensive player Thome is our DH, only other person I can think of is Brian Anderson or D Wise
  15. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 01:08 PM) Deadline is up now yes? Wonder how many deals will be annouced here shortly. Hopefully KW got an arm to help out. uh no. 45 more minutes.
  16. QUOTE (JoeBatterz @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 01:02 PM) Maybe you can give us out-of-towners some updates on what they say about it. http://player.play.it/player/player.html?i...onestat=wscr-am And Bernstein is already ranting about this being a ridiculous trade that's stupid and makes no sense. He's totally bashing the trade. It has begun.
  17. TIME FOR BOERS & BERNSTEIN'S DAILY THRASHING OF THE SOX ORGANIZATION
  18. if swisher is traded back to oakland, that would effectively make it, Gio & DLS for either street or duchscherer and we'd be stuck with Paulie at 1B for the rest of the year and an aging guy who was born in the late 60's, playing CF for us wow.
  19. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:44 AM) Griffey is hitting .245 with 15 homers. Last year Konerko hit .259 with 31 homers and everyone was saying how much he sucked. Its going to be ugly seeing Griffey's pot belly giggling as he's chasing balls in the gaps. I give him 2 weeks before he's on the DL. As one of the comments in the Tribune stated: 1995 called and said great trade. The only way this is any good is if KW has a corresponding move. Stay classy my friend.
  20. I want to punch Lawrence Holmes in the face. Yesterday, when the Sox were sitting 0.5 up in the division, he was all doom and gloom, and proclaiming the twins were going to win this thing Right now, "If the sox win tonight, this series didn't happen, and actually the Sox gained." What a douchebag, SERIOUSLY.
  21. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:31 AM) Just a heads up, in the last month, griffey has a .927 OPS, with 5 HR, 17 RBI, 6 doubles, and 1/1 K/BB ratio. He's heating up. i posted his july numbers earlier in the thread, i totally agree that he could be a nice bat in our lineup if he holds up these kind of numbers for the rest of the year i'm just scared with him in CF, seriously
  22. QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:27 AM) With Dye at first, you have two guys at positions they would be bad at instead of only one with leaving Dye at RF. you make a good point, but you have to wonder does the slight loss in defense at two positions outweigh the absolute non-existance of a defensive player at a prime position (CF)
  23. QUOTE (JohnStamos @ Jul 31, 2008 -> 09:25 AM) Konerko has a no trade clause. What makes you think he's gonna accept a deal to a non-contending team. Why is this so difficult to understand? It seems like everyday at least 5 people make this statement. I'm fully aware of Konerko's 10-5 rights. But stranger things have happened.
  24. only way i see this trade working out well for us is if Konerko is traded, Swisher moves to CF, Dye plays 1st and Griffey plays RF we're basically getting a guy who's absolutely brutal on defense, according to the guy that Lawrence just spoke to from Cincinatti our defense is 2nd to last in the AL, you have to wonder how Griffey being in our lineup as anything but a DH doesn't hurt the team
