  1. QUOTE (Vance Law @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 05:37 PM) Ok then, does anyone expect Dunn to keep hitting .276 for the rest of the year? How about next year or the year after? Is he going to hit better coming over to the AL from the NL? I have a bad feeling that his power numbers are starting to decline.
  2. QUOTE (justBLAZE @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 05:33 PM) I'd keep Hudson simply because I don't think Sale will be a starter. He might be an option in the bullpen next year but Hudson could be a part of the rotation. Give them Flowers, Morel + A prospect they like. If you think that way about Sale, then he's no different than another Aaron Poreda.
  3. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Jun 26, 2010 -> 05:18 PM) At the end of August my wife and I will be married for 5 years. I am trying to think of a good way to celebrate. My parents agreed to take our two daughters for the evening, but an out of town trip is out of our price range (I really wanted to do a weekend to Disney World). I thought about a dinner and movie, but that seems lame for a 5th anniversary. Any ideas for a small budget celebration (under $100)? Can you recall her dropping any hints? I would suggest keeping a notebook handy whenever she drops hints. Think long and hard about any hints she may have dropped and you'll have some ideas.
  4. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 04:13 PM) Yep. Sox org really, really likes Infante's arm. Let's hope he doesn't struggle post promotion like last year.
  5. QUOTE (flavum @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 01:59 PM) Infante to AA. Anyone think Bellamy could be moved up soon too? Sooner the better.
  6. No word on whom the Barons are cutting loose. Nobody is being promoted, Charlotte only has one open spot and that's Threets' spot. If I had to guess, it would be either Negron, Greene would be playing over him anyway. Or, Angel Garcia, he's a reclaimation project who hasn't pitched all that well. One player has to go, Negron didn't play last night, but was present in the dugout, as was Garcia.
  7. I guess I'm not the only one on Alex Vispoli's distro list.
  8. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:47 AM) Will achieve...i'm starting to agree with you. Could achieve is something different, but that'd take a complete swing restart and overhaul and it looks like he's not up to doing that. He's more than capable of being a top notch defender though.
  9. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:43 AM) I disagree on that being his "Ceiling" if we're defining ceiling as the best player he could possibly be. I just think it's becoming progressively less likely that he'll reach his ceiling I agree, I just think that will be the most he will achieve as a major league hitter.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:38 AM) That's approximately the type of package I might settle for if I were Washington...but I'd also listen for better offers as well, and it's probably 50/50 whether or not I'd get one. It's Kenny Williams, he'll do it. That would be a conservative offer from him. Maybe he can throw in KW Jr.
  11. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:37 AM) Why would the Nationals want Morel? They have Zimmerman. Unless they think Morel will be a good enough offensive player in a corner OF position, I don't think they'd want him. Jordan Danks makes more sense for them. I wish we still had Brandon Allen. He'd be a good piece to a deal like this. If a guy can hit, then they'll find a spot for him. Morel has more upside to be a consistant .300 than Danks. I like Danks a lot, mostly for his defense. But his ceiling is only as a 7 hitter in the National League or 8 in the American.
  12. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:35 AM) I would not necessarily be against acquiring the contract of Adam Dunn but not at the expense of good young players in our system. Let's grow our own for a change. That would be nice, the White Sox would have to change their entire draft philosphy though.
  13. I hate to say it, but I'd guess it would be Hudson, Morel and Brandon Short for Dunn. Short should have been promoted to B'ham a long time ago considering the numbers he's put up in W-S. If the White Sox give up that package, they better resign Dunn after 2010.
  14. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 11:32 PM) Well I'm soured on him enough as a prospect on potential alone, but thought he would be a nice sleeper to have a big year, then move on to AAA and perhaps trade bait. Whats going on over there John? pitching around him in a weak lineup? Don't get me wrong, I like Jim Gallagher a lot. He's one of the hardest workers on the team and I can tell he loves baseball. He's taking more pitches, which I think is accounting for his escalated walk rate.
  15. QUOTE (Thunderbolt @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 08:04 AM) The Nationals like Jesus Flores a lot and are pretty invested in this Norris kid they have down in AA. I think pitching would be going to Nationals either way. Oh...okay, thought you were talking about me for a minute. Derek Norris, duh.
  16. QUOTE (Chet Kincaid @ Jun 29, 2010 -> 09:06 AM) Is anyone here concerned about Dunn's strike outs and decreasing walk rate? Plus the .276 batting average is the highest of his career. I'm concerned that he's already peaked in regards to homeruns and RBI's.
  17. QUOTE (SoxAce @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 10:56 PM) My sleeper prospect Gallagher the last 10 games: .345/.558/.517/1.075 13:3 BB/SO ratio. Don't get too excited there, Ace.
  18. Looks like Oakland traded the White Sox a minor leaguer in return for Jared Price, this guy... Michael Richard He's been assigned to Kannapolis.

  20. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 08:33 PM) Remenowsky said he's getting an X-Ray and MRI today (probably already done), they don't know for sure what it is. They are hoping its minor. He says it felt like he dislocated it. I'll update if I hear more. Yikes. That could knock him out the rest of the season.
  21. QUOTE (girlslikebaseballtoo#26 @ Jun 28, 2010 -> 10:22 AM) They don't get paid that much! You would barely survive if that was your only income. What does Chase do or going to do for income in the offseason? Has he ever considered playing winter ball in Latin America or South America in the future?
  22. Ozzie versus Zambrano would be quite the show.
  23. QUOTE (GoodAsGould @ Jun 27, 2010 -> 01:06 PM) Right, I love career minor leaguers because they are the players you know who truly love the game they play and ontop of that everyone who is in the wsox organization Im a fan even if some give me headaches(Kotsay.....) He's actually getting a better opportunity with Oakland, he's been assigned to their AAA team.
