Chick-Fil-A and Homosexuality
QUOTE (Reddy @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 02:52 PM) i said that because I was getting flamed for making the same comment about southerners. You were right.

Chick-Fil-A and Homosexuality
QUOTE (Reddy @ Jul 30, 2012 -> 12:32 PM) WTF man? What do you mean by typical southerner? You're stereotyping. Typical southerners are conservative. I've experienced this first hand. No stereotyping. But, we're not ALL like that.

Santiago was sent down
Charlotte needs Santiago in their rotation. Septimo was originally acquired off waivers from Arizona. They designated him for assignment last summer. Not sure about his options.

Chick-Fil-A and Homosexuality
Coming soon to FlapShip, my take on guilt free alternatives to Chick-fil-A. It's supposed to be funny and not political.

Chick-Fil-A and Homosexuality
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 29, 2012 -> 09:23 PM) One doesn't choose to be a southerner either! Wait... I was born this way. Balta, I think you qualify as a stinkin' carpet bagger. FYI, I'm very liberal as compared to your typical southerner.

Chick-Fil-A and Homosexuality
QUOTE (Reddy @ Jul 29, 2012 -> 08:44 PM) Fine, let's take a poll, and see if I'm off base: All southerners posting in this thread, do you support gay marriage? I do. (No pun intended)

Slight possibility that Tyler Saladino has been promoted to Charlotte. Not likely Carlos Sanchez, but maybe Erik Morrison. It's going to be one of those three.

Sale's next start uncertain
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 29, 2012 -> 05:40 PM) And we now have yet another rookie on the team, 2B/SS Rey Olmedo. Doubt we'll even see him once, it will be like Heath. 31 years old too. Can play 3B, RF & LF as well. Smart roster addition.

Keenan Walker (shoulder) and Marcus Semien (knee laceration) go on the DL. Billy Rice and D.J. Jarrad move up to Winston-Salem. Simon Castro goes back on the DL and Pedro Hernandez goes on the temporary inactive list. Charlotte goes from 6 starting pitchers to 4. Nevin Griffith goes back into the Barons rotation, but they still only have 4 starters.

QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 27, 2012 -> 02:57 PM) He hasn't been fully healthy either time in AA. He got injured the first time around and probably pitched through it at first. Now he's working his way back and may not be 100%. I wouldn't label it a mental block until we know the injury isn't at work. I'm not rating him in the top 30 prospects or anything, but he still has a chance. He so much as admitted on his Twitter that missing a year has created an uphill climb for him.

Looks like Charlotte is going with a 6 man rotation as of right now. Shirek, Hernandez, Zaleski, Axelrod, Castro, Leesman.

7/25 games
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 03:04 PM) Are they shutting Molina down for the rest of the season? Maybe he'll get a fresh start in the AFL, but they might be better off resting him all the way through ST. No winter ball. Fresh start in 2013. Molina and Rienzo could be activated.

7/25 games
QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ Jul 25, 2012 -> 12:20 PM) I think it's safe to say that Cameron Bayne has absolutely NO CONTROL. Wow. And now he's on the DL. That leaves B'ham with 3 starting pitchers.

7/25 games
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 02:05 PM) Everything I've read projects him to be an average or slightly below average major league middle infielder, especially range and arm-wise. Maybe he can practice and practice and practice like Ventura did and make it into an asset. Can't live and die by reports.

7/25 games
QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 12:59 PM) Why? And if you were to choose a RH reliever to come up next, who would you choose? He'd get shelled in the majors. I like him, he's a fellow Alabamian, but he's probably a AAAA player at best. I guess whomever hasn't gotten a shot yet.

QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jul 26, 2012 -> 08:32 AM) Next time the Sox need a reliever from the minors, I'm starting to think we may see Brandon Kloess. He's a good guy, but no.

Jared Mitchell to AAA
QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 24, 2012 -> 12:30 PM) They would save money just reading this site or WSI, lol. Granted, there are lots of things we're not picking up mechanically with his swing. We don't have the video....at least I don't think too many here are subscribing to MILB.tv and watching Barons games on a consistent basis and trying to analyze what's been going on with Jared the last 6 weeks or so. You can't watch Barons games on MiLB.tv.

Chick-Fil-A and Homosexuality
QUOTE (northside sawx @ Jul 20, 2012 -> 12:31 PM) Typical Ultra-Conservative Southerners. That's an unfair generalization. You don't know anything about Southerners if you think we're all like that. I find their politics to be ridiculous, but it comes as no surprise from a company that shuns revenue and profit just to close on Sundays.

Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel
QUOTE (JPN366 @ Jul 17, 2012 -> 08:29 PM) My uncle will be on this week's episode of Real Sports with Bryant Gumbel, it airs tonight at 9PM Central time. That sucked, he didn't even get to talk on camera.

QUOTE (Chicago White Sox @ Jul 16, 2012 -> 07:28 PM) How has his stuff looked? I know it's only been 9 innings, but he's got a 0 ERA, .44 WHIP, and 8 Ks across four levels. It's shocking to see a guy just converted to a pitcher move so damn fast. Haven't seen him.
