    For what reason?

Anyone got any tips for dealing with these? I've got a pretty bad one on my right eye, and the warm water isn't doing much, as it's gotten worse the last two days.
  3. No horsing around: Davis comes to the rescue http://www.cowboysplus.com/topstory/storie...ht.34c4f7b.html 11:38 AM CDT on Thursday, May 17, 2007 Cowboys offensive lineman Leonard Davis went from sinking a birdie putt in Grapevine to saving the life of a horse in Arizona. Courtesy of Roy Garibaldi Leonard Davis uses his tractor to pull a horse out of the mud. After playing in the annual sponsors' tournament at Cowboys Golf Club in Grapevine, Davis flew home Wednesday to pick up some personal belongings. When he arrived at his five-acre home in Chandler, Ariz., he noticed a horse stuck in the mud across the street. "A horse was waist deep in a sinkhole, and I had to do something," Davis said Wednesday night. Davis drove his John Deere tractor across the street with friend Roy Garibaldi, a local talk show host. Davis put some straps on the horse's waist and used the tractor to pull "Ranger" out. "He goes from helping his wife to saving a horse's life," said Garibaldi, alluding to Davis' wife, Amanda, who underwent finger surgery. "Here's this big 360-pound NFL player doing something amazing." Courtesy of Roy Garibaldi Leonard Davis pets the horse after rescuing it. Davis cleaned the horse off with a hose as his neighbors, fire and police department officials looked on. "I was just doing what anybody else would have done," Davis said. "I wasn't scared at all. I grew up on a farm pulling cows and horses out of the mud. No big deal." Neat.

Plus, to predict any minor leaguer doesn't make the majors...you're more likely to be right.
  6. Wow, how do you know specifics about my dog? Sure. Let's score 8 runs tomorrow.
  7. We need some good mojo after Friday.
  8. QUOTE(whitesoxfan101 @ May 18, 2007 -> 11:15 PM) But it is necessary. I will make this antagonistic declaration right now, because it is needed and accurate. I have 2 thoughts for those of you who, after what Ozzie did from about 8 AM today until 4 PM today, still think he's anything other than a AT LEAST bad manager. 1. Your an idiot. 2. Go become a Cub fan, because only one of them could think anything else of Guillen after today. If we miss the playoffs and he still has a job after this season, I also want Kenny fired as well simply for his loyalty to an idiot. Last year proved Ozzie is a bad manager, today proved that barring a playoff appearance, he must go. If we don't make it to October, I will not tolerate a bad manager with a big mouth who missed the playoffs 3 of his 4 seasons. Period.

QUOTE(BearSox @ May 18, 2007 -> 09:50 PM) Day has been ridiculous this season. He is K'ing everyone and their mother, but he is also giving up a lot of hits and walks. Replace those hits and walks with more K's and oh my, do we have something special. I am predicting Day will be with the big league club come August at the earliest. I personally want him up here ASAP because of his age. I predict he never hits the majors.

My God Ricks, where have you been?
  12. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ May 18, 2007 -> 08:30 PM) Nothing happens fast when you rely on me You can still chekc the PM I sent you about the next installment. Everyone will be happy to know that when we randomly were assigned prospects, I got Egbert.
  13. Ozzie was sort of nice to him the other day. "Brian just has talent and he doesn't know how to use it. Brian is not a baseball player and this kid (Ryan) is. This kid is mature. Brian, the more he plays, he should be better. Ryan knows what he's doing right now. ... Two different kids. Brian, he went to the game the right way. I'm not going to criticize Brian for who he was. I love him. Everyone should be like that, loosey-goosey."
  14. QUOTE(Melissa1334 @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:55 PM) ...mac threw a first pitch fastball and he knew it was coming and got a hit. anyone batting would have known it was coming.. That is one issue I had. I like Mac when he sets up his breaking stuff and uses his fastball off of that instead of the other way around. He has nasty movement on his fastball, but way too often that movement takes it back to the middle of the plate. I would've also liked AJ in to catch him. He's extremely difficult to catch for someone who never has.
  15. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:50 PM) Well, our offense is hardly full of mediocre plays, but good players just sucking, and that bothers me a ton. And our pitching isn't mediocre, as I have always thought Vazquez, Garland, and Buehrle were all still good pitchers. I was surprised by Jose doing good, and I expected Danks to do good but not this good. It pisses me off that a pitcher with the stuff MacDougal has sucks and chokes. I have been pleasantly surprised by Aardsma, and Sisco has been good. A very big difference if you ask me. We've been giving Mackowiak, Ozuna and whoever we play at LF/DH an awful lot of atbats, none of who should start for any team. QUOTE(Gregory Pratt @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:48 PM) Protecting his players. I'm not mad at Ozzie for today. I think all of you who are wrong as hell, but that's just me. I wish he'd protect BA like that. Seriously though, I agree with you. I think people are just freaking since it's the Cubs.

God, Spiff's greatness goes unappreciated around here. I remember the day he became an admin. Spiff: Whats so difficult about being an admin Heads: not a whole lot spiff: then make me one heads: ok
  17. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:46 PM) Am I the only one who wants to break Pagan's knee caps? I get so pissed when mediocre players, AT BEST, own this team. Does it bother you when our mediocre players have been winning?
  18. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:40 PM) Listen, I am not dissing the list at all, or it's integrity, as there was and has been a lot of hard work done. I have no problem with it. I am just saying it seems a bit rushed to me because of your guys busy lives, thats all. Sorry if I offended anyone. We started the initial work on the list on January 28 by ranking our top 12. We had an initial top 25 on February 10. Our final draft was on March 12. We've been compiling writeups since then. We've had fluctuations since then, and we've moved some guys, especially with early results this year (we wanted to have it out before the season). There's a look into the world of FutureSox. Things don't happen fast.
  19. So everyone stops asking.
  20. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:28 PM) You can't be any more wrong here. Ryan Sweeney has quick hands and can turn on the ball at any time. He just needs a good hitting coach to give him good advice. Sweeney isn't gonna be hitting any inside pitchs with that new stance he has. He still has crappy power numbers for a corner outfielder.
  21. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:24 PM) The only thing Sweeney needs is a real hitting coach. He needs to get stronger and start every day. He's not good enough to be an everyday LF yet in the majors. QUOTE(SoxFan562004 @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:24 PM) I tend to agree with you, this loss was obviously pathetic, but Javy has been pitching well, so go get them tomorrow. Zambrano has had 1 good start recentally, and he is a head case, so I'm not quite putting that one in the loss column just yet We'll have some pathetic losses, every team does. We're still playing extremely well considering we suck right now. QUOTE(caulfield12 @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:25 PM) You want Anderson and Erstad to start in LF and CF? We will average 3.5 runs per game for the rest of the season with that line-up. Well, I said I wanted a real LF, or an additional real outfielder. We've got like 1.5 outfielders right now. Terrero doesn't count, while the rest have been sucking balls, and Grinderstad can't decide if he wants to suck or play well.
  22. Well, s***, we're going to lose upwards of 70 games this year. This loss has no effect on anyone else on the AL, giving them a better record. These games are of the least consequence. I'd really like to see us sport a real LF though. Terrero and Sweeney aren't doing it for me. It'd be super if Brian could figure it out and become a member of our OF again. I still think Ryan needs another year in AAA.
  23. QUOTE(BearSox @ May 18, 2007 -> 04:10 PM) Also, Toby did his job today. Went 2-3 and scored a run. It isn't his fault that MacDougal sucks ass. Really? Cause the last three innings I watched, he was clearly out of sync behind the plate.
  24. Boone didn't pitch all that bad.
  25. Wow. You guys are totally freaking out.
