  1. Who the heck is Pyrzinski?
  2. Roberto Livan Orlando Yeah, that's what we need.
  3. Either way, you'd expect a move to be made for sure by tomorrow, even if Stewart is just called up til we acquire someone. You simply don't want to have only one catcher on the roster.
  4. QUOTE(Flash Tizzle @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) I could envision a scenario, albeit unlikely, where a starter is traded and Haegar provides temporary relief in the rotation. This is only until McCarthy gradually builds up a pitch count. Whether that regimen be from Charlotte, out of the bullpen, or established through spot starts with Haegar. And the nice thing with Haegar is he can throw a ton of pitches if need be. Too bad he's not a lefty, or he'd be a total freak of nature. QUOTE(Gene Honda Civic @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 04:09 PM) The last time I checked, Stewart had only caught 1 Haeger start this season. Matos has been him primary catcher. Yeah, I realized that. Stew did catch him when Matos went on the DL earlier, but then again, I don't look for Matos in the Charlotte boxes.
  5. QUOTE(Dick Allen @ Jul 23, 2006 -> 04:08 PM) If he's on the team next year, and if Haeger somehow is in the rotation, you never know with injury and poor performance, I wouldn't be surprised if Stewart isn't his personal catcher. Not the greatest job in the world, but I'm sure Stewart would be thrilled. Works well enough for Mirabelli. Oh, and from a couple posts earlier, Olivo stands right beside Rowand as guys who won't be Sox this year.
  6. Ya know, I hadn't noticed this until now, but Pascual Matos has been catching Chuck pretty exclusively. Chris caught him earlier when Matos was hurt.
  7. I really doubt Chuck comes back up. Stew does do a pretty good job, but if you've got a guy throwing like 80% knucklers, the passed balls stick out....let me see how many he has. He IS our best defensive catcher in the system that can hit a ball at all.
  8. I do think that Sandy would be an awesome fit with the team....um.....for the third time. He's a good guy, and he doesn't out and out suck, which is a positive.
  9. Like has been said here before, I don't think any of us will forget the feel good story that he was last year. Thanks, Chris.
  10. I also talked to BHAM last night, regarding Stew, actually. Says he's a good character guy and he likes his game calling. His PB numbers in Charlotte can be overlooked, because of Haeger.
  11. Stewart still playing for Charlotte. Since I doubt Matos was called up, unless of course he lives next door to Ozzie, there might be someone on the way.
  12. Standing fishing O.
  13. When Jon's on, when he pitches inside it's fouled off, a broken bat or a strike. And, God, it's nice to see good Jon back.
  14. That HAS to be a sign that something will shift around.
  15. I just got to watch the game now.....apart from you guys bickering, it looks like Jon manned the fish up. HE gone. Jon better get a bigtime standing O.
  16. The playoff beard needs to happen. I decided to give up shaving for this team. Nice thing is, it shouldn't affect me til mid-September, when I'll shave again for the stretch run. Self-deprication is fun.
  17. Gaged my post.
  18. He was on one of my rosters as inactive or suspended or something.
  19. Well, you blew your chance.
  20. If the Cy part is associated with ISU I don't know how we couldn't hire you.
  21. It's because it's the Hexidecimal that was on the Bulls logo. It looked close enough to black that Gage didn't notice it. He can always change it.
  22. 3/5 of our pitching staff is just not that good right now.
  23. Discuss.
  24. Well, that caps the night off perfectly.
