  1. The lower section of Cyclone Alley is the red blob.
  2. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 05:03 PM) Yes, as we took it over last year. And i mean took it over. I remember. Cyclone Alley did the same at Nebraska. Doesn't it seem like the seventh level of hell?
  3. Heh. Come to think of it, I'd kill for a home-and-home with Illinois or Indiana. Speaking of which, when do they match up this year?
  4. QUOTE(WHarris1 @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 04:57 PM) 7:00 p.m. ET Georgia Tech at Michigan State ESPN 7:30 p.m. ET Minnesota at Maryland ESPN2 8:00 p.m. ET Northwestern at Virginia ESPNU 9:00 p.m. ET Duke at Indiana ESPN 9:30 p.m. ET North Carolina State at Iowa ESPN2 Can the B10 pull out three? MSU & Iowa need to win, then hope NU or IU can win their game. Iowa is giving away pizza to try and get students in their student section tonight. I'll be surprised in Iowa has much of a home court advantage. Carver sucks, but you Big Ten fans know this.
  5. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 04:35 PM) Selling out with season tickets is a pretty good step. Sometimes the adults at AH sit on their hands too much. You have to give them a reason to cheer, instead of them cheering to try to get something going, etc. It's lame. I'll be interested to watch an ISU home game (if they are ever on espn or something) We've got the oldie oldsters too, but, most of them have been thru thick and thin. We're on national TV 5 times this year. Don't count the Ohio State game, though. That's in Des Moines. The only two home games that are on ESPN for now are Texas and Kansas. No idea why Iowa isn't. But, I remember some guys here watched the Kansas game at Hilton last year and saw just how rockin it can get.

Does it make the Sox favorites to repeat. They dropped the Sox after about :25

A minute reserved for Konerko, and half of it goes to Red Sox/Yanks.
  8. QUOTE(IlliniKrush @ Nov 30, 2005 -> 04:25 PM) Heads...there were about 1,500 people in Krush last year. However, there's another, maybe, 4,000 students who are in the regular stands and aren't part of Krush. And Greasy and whoever else...since i've experienced both, the Wake game tip off was louder than Frank coming out or any other thing at that game. Again, a closed environment will do that. Only thing that i've been at that's been louder than the wake game? 1991 NHL All Star game National Anthem. Cool. I have no idea how many are in Cyclone Alley. I know we fill up both sisdes behind the basket up to the concourse and for big games for one side it's up to the rafters. I do know student season tickets were sold out before the school year.
  9. Difference between home and road record (Conference games only, 1999-2005) Team Home Road Diff in Win% 1 Bradley 46-17 13-50 .524 2 Hawaii 44-14 14-44 .517 3 Alabama 43-13 16-40 .482 4 New Mexico 36-13 13-36 .469 5 Iowa St. 42-14 16-40 .464 ^ A lot of this is a function of how pisspoor ISU played on the road before last year, but it's still pretty good as ISU had a few down years in the middle. I think a home-and-home with Illinois would be really cool. I really doubt Iowa State would have a shot in Illinois, but I think we could upset the Illini in Ames. Both places rock.
  10. Never to be worn again. The selfish part of me wants him to retire, but he's done so much for this franchise that he can do whatever the hell he wants.
  11. Cal was the s***, and an Iowa boy to boot.
  12. Iowa State - Iowa looks like it'll be a good matchup, all of a sudden. Brunner will get his points, it all comes down to shooting, as it did against UNI and those f***heads Greg McDermott and Ben Jacobsen. I'll be in the second row, BTW . How many people are part of the Krush, and whatever the hell Indiana has? Cyclone Alley seems to be getting there. We were f***ing LOUD last nite for just plain old UNI. Adam Haluska should end up deaf with around 14,000 there to boo him relentlessly.

Mushrooms, olives, tomatoes, anything that ends in melon or remotely resmbles a melon, cucumbers, salsa, and I tried my Uncle's pickled herring once. Never again.
  14. Cheese and mayo sandwich.
  15. Alrighty, this may be one that's a bit more for the minor league experts.... Do you see Chris starting off in AAA catching this year? Will his offensive numbers middle oout between 04 and 05 numbers? Is his D still something to be excited about? Will he be the *gasp* next Raul Casanova, late season savior?
  16. McDermott and Ben Jacobsen can shut their f***ing mouths. Iowa State 68, Northern Iowa 61
  17. QUOTE(hammerhead johnson @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 03:08 PM) I know it's different because you're ranking them from a given point of time during the season, but strength of schedule is basically just two games. Games within your own divison: 6 Games against a division within your conference: 4 Games against a division in opposing conference: 4 That adds up to 14 games that you'd have to play regardless of the record that you finished with the season beforehand. Perhaps you have to play a killer AFC division like the AFC West, but those are just the breaks. Therefore, I usually disregard any talk about "strength of schedule". It's pretty meaningless IMO. I'm just saying that the NFC is weak sauce, really. Of course, right now, it's Indy and everyone else. I wouldn't have said that before last night, but damn. Those are the breaks, and Chicago got them this year. They're winning like they should against an NFC North that sucks/ed and against NFC South teams that are manic depressive. Ahh, if only the Colts could play the Bears, I'd have a good week. But, that won't happen. I would like to see a Dallas - Chicago matchup in the playoffs. **Wow, that was a rambler.
  18. I'd start the starters, but once the Colts have a lead, it's Jim Sorgi time, baby.
  19. It's kind of a dead time right now, so I figured I'd link y'all to some classic Soxtalk.... Remember when we were holding out for a hero? Well, he showed up. I guess Jason's partly to thank, but try not to read the game thread and smile when thinking of that night when Rally Crede debuted and Joe homered not once, but twice, and made us all believe. Jas makes the Rally Crede, but I start the craze.... September 20 Game Thread.....Joe saves the day.
  20. QUOTE(Jimbo's Drinker @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 12:31 AM) Is taht the team that just shoots and runs back onto defense?? Pretty much both teams. UNI is supposed to win the Missouri Valley.
  21. QUOTE(Chisoxfn @ Nov 29, 2005 -> 12:23 AM) HAAAAA...I'm thinking it will have some sort of ISU theme. But no sig until I actually win. You know if you were in an ISU sig bet they'd lose out after 8. Just to f***in' spite me. I am a Vasher fan, however.
  22. Can I at least specify a theme when the day comes? Pride of the Big XII, maybe?
  23. Northern Iowa @ Iowa State tomorrow. Should be a full Cyclone Alley, we'll see if Iona was a fluke.
