The Triumphant Return of Jake Peavy @ Angels
QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ May 11, 2011 -> 09:54 PM) Thats odd, given that the Angels announcers have been commenting how sharp it looks. I've seen it between 81 and 87 on the clock. He rolled one or two but he's also snapped off a couple nasty ones. Why aren't you at this game, Gage?

The Triumphant Return of Jake Peavy @ Angels
QUOTE (fathom @ May 11, 2011 -> 09:44 PM) Peavy's change-up looks good He's looking better in the second than in the first. Let's hope he keeps up this rapid improvement. The fastball has more movement already than it did in the first. And another K. 3 thru 2.

QUOTE (fathom @ May 11, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) Morel has power? That's news to me. AJP has fielding as a "tool"? Some might consider AJ a tool.

The Triumphant Return of Jake Peavy @ Angels
QUOTE (fathom @ May 11, 2011 -> 09:36 PM) He hasn't been at 94-95mph during his Sox career. http://www.fangraphs.com/statss.aspx?playe...&position=P And according to fangraphs, his average velocity has never been above 92.5.

I'd really like to give Jake a month before we make any sort of judgment on his being "back" or not. First game back in the bigs, he's gonna have some adrenaline.

Good teams do something (good) in this situation. Mark Teahen should consider.....a double.

I wouldn't be totally surprised if Jake gets hurt trying to choke out Juan in between innings.

Juan Pierre, Jesus f***ing Christ.

Jake's throwing almost exclusively fastballs except for those last two sliders. Must just be getting comfortable, I hope.

Jake appears to be gaining some speed. WGN had his last pitch at 93.

Looks like Jake is sitting around 90.

Brent Morel Walk Watch
What day will he draw that elusive first walk of the season?
-
Gray or Pena?
I wouldn't have minded seeing Morel go down to Charlotte, but that's just me.

Konerko HoF?
It's amazing this year just how much PK seems like just a professional hitter this year. I'm not quite sure he's feared yet, but it seems like he's given us VERY good atbats the vast majority of this year.

First Credit Card
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 11, 2011 -> 10:12 AM) I'll second this, they'll all try to screw you, but a credit union will likely try to screw you the least. http://www.veridiancu.org/loans/credit_cards.asp I have a good relationship with this credit union (had accounts with them for over 10 years, actually, just opened a money market). The Platinum Rewards looks ok.
