  1. I suppose it’s something they could try since both of those cats have seemed to respond well to coming out as bulk guys.
  2. You’re comparing apples to oranges - free agency to trade market. We have seen the Sox pick up the number 1 trade target in the deadline a few times and we have watched them bring in multiple pieces at a deadline before. I actually think it is foolish to think they aren’t talking about bringing on some heavy guys still and flirting with the idea of including Schultz to do it.
  3. I can respect that but I can also see him throwing filth again and be excited to dream on it being very effective while also boosting the kids confidence.
  4. Highly doubtful considering one of the speculated reasons Castillo has struggled this year is that he was in that position with the M’s already.
  5. I suspect he can mitigate that by altering his pitch mix and bringing his sinker back at a high frequency in home starts.
  6. I don’t trust that media line as far as I can throw it. Yes, there are likely some untouchables but I do believe there is a very select list of A tier trade targets they are talking on who would require us to move some of our young guys. And I wouldn’t be against it one bit.
  7. It’s really the only part of the trade I’m bothered by.
  8. I really don’t think this hurts 2027 one bit. We should have a lot of spending room and I also believe that Castillo can be one of the best number 5s in baseball.
  9. Why would you doubt that we’re trying to land a big trade target?
  10. Let me guess: Player A = Fedde Player B = Castillo ?
  11. Have you looked at his numbers in Charlotte since he was moved to the pen or watched any of his relief work?
  12. I’m not buying this one bit. The M’s REALLY jerked him around this year and he was not happy AT ALL. Really believe that they firmly believe they can turn him around and that a change of scenery is going to help him.
  13. Because he was drafted by the Braves ( I think ) a few years ago… if I recall correctly.
  14. This is pretty much where I’ve landed so far.
  15. This year because of Seattle’s starting pitches riches. In his previous 7 years prior he has always been an innings eater with a sub 4 ERA and the metrics on his fastball have been improving in the last month.
  16. I wonder if this sets us up to include Shultz in a trade for a big fish of the Logan Webb, Mason Miller, or Hunter Goodman mold.
  17. Oh Castillo has one more year after 26?
  18. I wonder if: A.) They buy into the fact that the way Seattle has thrown him around really has effected him B.) Maybe they have identified something they believe will help him return to form. C.) Value his playoff push / playoff experience. ( I haven’t looked into his numbers for those situations yet.) It’s a head scratcher for me at first but if this is one of two starting pitchers we add as the lesser add, we have plans to bring up McDougal, and we also get a catcher / RH bat / more help in the pen - it may make sense. Would have rather had this be for Kirby.
  19. I don’t like trading away from our pen where Dominguez looked to have restored his form and I also don’t like that it included Boston for a rental. I’ll wait until after the deadline because this isn’t the only move and we all know this.

  21. Wonder if one guy we send out will be Rikku in another deal. At first glance, I’m not liking the trade with Seattle.
  22. Lots of rumored players are sitting out their games… it’s about to get hot in here folks!
