  1. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 07:11 PM) Well, I just hope this is the worst loss of the season, and we get it out of our system like a bad s***. Kind of like that other game we lost in Baltimore...
  2. QUOTE (AddisonStSox @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 07:05 PM) Awesome. f***ing brilliant. Anderson is helpless at the plate, Ozzie. He's absolutely helpless. ...and you put the squeeze on. Nice. The White Sox need to lose this game 25-2. I don't see what was so wrong with trying to let Anderson make contact and pick up that easy RBI, anything more than a strikeout or popup would've gotten the job done and he's looked ok at the plate. A squeeze play, that was creative, but stupid.
  3. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 07:02 PM) Ok, in what unique manner can we blow this opportunity? Will that suffice?
  4. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 07:02 PM) Good to see all 75 fans on their feet. They had us play today's game in Miami due to the rain?
  5. O's announcers are talking Quentin up, calling him the real deal etc.
  6. QUOTE (Greg The Bull Luzinski @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 06:58 PM) Huff should have scored there. Yeah, if the Sox win by 1 run, I will consider this a gift from the umpires and feel kind of bad. A 2 run blast would make it irrelevant though.
  7. Oh man, that was a heads up play by Cabrera to catch Jones being stupid.
  8. Pacman with a rocket to the wall.
  9. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 06:53 PM) No sir! Only the Sox have a right to be ticked off when a play doesn't go their way. Mr. Harrelson? I didn't know you posted on Soxtalk
  10. QUOTE (kjshoe04 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 06:52 PM) Nice play by Juan. Don't know if he got Huff or not though. Real close. Tie goes to the runner, he got robbed (not that I mind). Now he gets thrown out, insult to injury.
  11. Oooo I think Huff has a right to be pissed here.
  12. Owens is not injured, he's hitting .294 at Charlotte (almost a .400 OBP too). Nothing is wrong with this lineup except for not having Richar, so until he comes back from his rehab assignment in a few weeks no changes are needed.
  13. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 04:21 PM) I'd like to point out that everyone talking about average here is really implying slugging percentage. Well, yeah. A player hitting .250 is average, but if he hits .250 with 35 HRs and 20 doubles he is an above average player.
  14. QUOTE (ScottyDo @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 01:40 AM) batting average doesn't mean nothing... but it's close. Bull... you have to hit for at least a reasonable average, there is no way around that, at all. OBP is important, but it isn't THAT important to the point where it completely eclipses the need to hit.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 02:42 PM) Richar plays good D, turns a decent dp and should hit better than Juan. Juan is a defensive replacement at this point in his career, he simply cannot get on base. And he bats left-handed
  16. QUOTE (kyyle23 @ Apr 28, 2008 -> 06:38 AM) Well if it isnt pull-able, then he wouldnt be pulling it, now would he? Well yeah, hence his sub-Mendoza batting average

QUOTE (Alpha Dog @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 12:40 AM) A John McCain update! That is hilarious
  18. We have good depth in the OF, so I'd be in no hurry to bring Dye back until he's 100% ready to play. We saw him last year with a nagging muscle pull for a while that he wouldn't admit was bothering him, and he sucked.
  19. O's announcers: "And that's why they got him. A couple of Gold Gloves at shortstop, nice plays like that." Actually no, that's not why we got him, we already had a SS that could do that, and better to boot. The problem was, that guy couldn't hit over .230 to save his life and was a bad hitter even by SS standards.
  20. QUOTE (rafacosta @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 03:46 PM) 0-4 and 6 LOB is crap day for me... 1-4 and an RBI. But this is nitpicking.
  21. QUOTE (TitoMB345 @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 03:39 PM) BA had a crappy game at the plate to follow up yesterday. Not good. I wouldn't really call it crappy. He didn't strike out, and he was credited with a single and an RBI. But he didn't really capitalize either.
  22. QUOTE (JorgeFabregas @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 03:11 PM) It was scored as a fielders choice with an error. Farmer said that Fahey had no angle at home and no shot at first. Farmer said it shold've been an infield hit with two errors. IMO it should've been a FC with an RBI for Anderson, and the second run should've been accounted for with the error. There was a good chance the run still would've scored if the throw home wasn't bad.
  23. Damn, Jose just caught a f***ing rocket right back at him. He looked like he was trying to get out of the way and the ball just found its way into his glove.
  24. QUOTE (soxfan3530 @ Apr 27, 2008 -> 01:39 PM) god alexei swings sooooo hard. Alexei has explosive bat speed. Eventually the guy will start hitting but he needs to be seeing pitching more often.
  25. Hillary said again that the "tough questions" you get in a debate are nothing compared to the tough questions you get as president. Do they ask questions about your flag pin when you're president?
