  1. Luis Robert is really fucking good. And this is just the beta version of him.
  2. I would be more than willing to let that go if that's the only one that got by him
  3. Zavala is the worst catcher I've ever seen.
  4. Ryan Pace, frankly, was not having a good offseason before he drafted Justin Fields, that bought him a great deal of (well-deserved) slack Teven Jenkins may very well may go on to have a solid NFL career but the way they've handled this reeks of incompetence. Fields notwithstanding, whenever Pace trades up to take someone you should be suspicious of him at this point, because he's probably outsmarting himself again.
  5. Where's Yermin Mercedes when you need him
  6. I don't know, I'm just kind of thinking out loud here
  7. Lopez going back to Charlotte once Rodon comes back, yes?
  8. Taking a hard line drive to the face is a pitcher's worst nightmare
  9. LOL I'm dumb and didn't look closely at which of my posts @southsider2k5 was replying to
  10. His stuff is electric. Up there with Dylan Cease and Michael Kopech. Just couldn't get out of his own head. edit: for some reason I thought SS2K5 was replying to my post about Lopez
  11. I've talked as much shit as anyone about Reynaldo Lopez but if he's legitimately turned it around, I'll be ecstatic
  12. Is it just my eyes, or has Tim Anderson's defense improved drastically from a couple years ago
  13. Tim is always talking about how he's looking to improve or add to his game, but I think the low walk rate is just who he is as a hitter. He's aggressive and he makes high contact, and he's done it over a long enough time that it's sustainable, but if he changed his approach and started taking more pitches it'd start messing with his DNA as a player. He's not, for example, Luis Robert, a guy who is still figuring it out.
  14. This was kinda hard to choose but I went with Yermin Mercedes. Yes his run was a fluke at the end of the day, but it was a HUGE boost to the team after just having lost Eloy Jimenez for half the summer. Kinda wanted to go with Rodon, but his case is more like "finally living up to his full capability that we all knew he had"
  15. This is one of my favorites also
  16. As exciting and dope as TA's walk-off was, this was just a regular season game. So maybe the most memorable *regular season* moment ever but the HRs in the World Series all rate above it by default. My vote was for Pods, *nobody* would've predicted that at the time
  17. Didn't do the customary bat flip, instead he used Grandal's move, which looks just as cool
  18. Every one of Michael Kopech's pitches is a strikeout pitch. I love it when he throws his slider until the hitter gets 2 strikes, then gives them the 100 mph on the inside corner and the hitter just freezes in place helplessly.
  19. it's nice that we have *so many* options in the bullpen that we can actually talk about the All-Star closer maybe not being the best option lol (low key he does seem to blow a lot of saves for a shutdown closer but maybe I just think that cuz I'm irritated about it having just happened)
  20. This is a really good write-up (Chrystal O'Keefe is a really good Sox Twitter follow too)
  21. Just before he got hurt he was doing so good at this, his scouting report was exploiting him and he was just letting them throw him trash pitches and walk him
