  1. good find, i really want to see what both he and richar can do as a platoon at 2nd before we start trading away other prospects (like aaron cunningham) to fill our 2nd base needs
  2. I don't see any way that rowand can keep putting up the numbers for the next five years. With the reckless manner in which he plays his body is also going to be more prone to breaking down over the next several years. also, last season was a career year for him, i would much prefer a platoon of brian anderson and jerry owens as opposed to paying 12-14 million a year for someone who is an injury waiting to happen and unlikely to keep up the same level of production
  3. More info on Linebrink k/bb 2004 3.19 2005 3.04 2006 3.09 2007 2.00 OPS against 2004 .619 2005 .583 2006 .678 2007 .742 also, career ground/fly ratio of 0.89 ouch!
  4. I think that with richar and bourgeois we have two guys that we need to take a look at before we start trading players away
  5. QUOTE(max power @ Nov 22, 2007 -> 08:53 AM) Its is probable that someone will fail. Rehab doesn't help, not at all. Its proven that about 9/10 people will fail in rehab and approximately 9/10 people who quit without rehab also fail. I've read volumes on this. However, the longer someone is clean, and its been quite some time for josh, the lower the probability of relapse will be(generally). Not necessarily true. I work in the field at two different treatment centers, one inpatient and one outpatient and the odd are much better long term for someone who does attend rehab. but thats beside the point I think that if we could get hamilton for a reasonable price, say crede and macdougal then i'd do it, if he keeps his head straight he's got all the tools to be a special player.
  6. I think that 20 mil and our 2nd round pick is way too much for linebrink. his peripherals have gotten progressively worse over the last 3 years, his k/bb has gone down, k/9 has gone down while obp, ops, and avg against have all gone up. Add this to a move to the al from the nl AND the fact that he's moving from the best pitchers park in baseball (Petco) to one of the best hitters parks, this does not bode well for his future performance as our setup. I hope that i'm wrong, but i don't think that i am. Best case scenario as i see it is he has a good first half of the season and we can swing him to a contender for prospects.
