  1. I wonder how duke ellis is in the OF defensively because he’s dynamic on the basepaths. Could end up making it to the bigs as a defensive/baserunner bench guy.
  2. I don’t know much about swing mechanics but that looks like a huge leg kick for Zavala. What does that mean for his hitting profile moving forward? Also, I think Brooks Baldwin is a sleeper prospect, good bat with decent pop and he has been aggressively promoted this year at a premium position. Interested to see how he performs this season.
  3. CG shutout. Best start of his career.
  4. Comas might be something, he’s performed admirably for a conversion project. I’d like to know what his stuff looks like.
  5. Thanks for all you do. We’ll keep the torch lit.
  6. I’m rooting for him. Alumni from my college and new big 10 member U of O
  7. He also had Schultz in his next 30 list, so basically we have 4 guys in the top 80. It’s been a while since we’ve had that many, good to see. As far as Montgomery at #2 I’m shocked but at the same time very excited to see the analytics community with such a high opinion. We can all look at the basic numbers he puts up and see him doing very well at a young age but it’s great to know that the analytic numbers back up what we’re seeing as well.
  8. this comes to mind when thinking about their 6 wins
  9. I’m a Patton guy, not so much his British counterpart whose name escapes me.
  10. Montgomery plunked by Montgomery 2 times then Montgomery worked a BB against Montgomery. Montgomery got chased early, in Montgomery.
  11. As far as I’m concerned the only thing TA did wrong was drop his hands. You have to keep your hands up and protect your chin, might get embarrassed if you don’t. Any player who isn’t afraid to fight on the field should be required to take some boxing classes, team mandate.
  12. Can we agree that nastrini’s nickname needs to be nasty?? As in “Nasty Nick”, Just sayin
  13. I love the trades he made. We got some really interesting prospects for mostly guys who were not coming back next year. We have no shot of competing this year or next so let’s move on from those players. As far as the burger trade, he’s obviously the type of guy you root for and cost controlled for several years, but he is also a highly flawed player and we have a glut of 1b/DH types. Eder has top line starter potential and I don’t think you can say the same about JB so im Pleased with that move. the trades we didn’t make, who knows what we were offered so I can’t comment on that. The overall direction of the team??? I don’t think anyone actually knows what that is. Hahn has shown that he’s not the guy to build a roster or an organization for that matter, but looked at in a vacuum, I really think he did well to restock the minors with some exciting prospects while only giving up guys who would have been gone next year anyways. I can’t fault the work he did moving players I consider to be spare parts at this point in a lost season.
  14. What about Giolito? Left for dead before coming to the Sox
  15. Popeye is officially on a heater now. OPS up to 750, 12 HRs
  16. Nunez has a great BB to K ratio. It’s good to see that he has the patience to take a walk in a league notorious for wild pitching. That bodes well for his future plate discipline as he advances
  17. Are they doctoring the balls in AA this year??
  18. He seems to be a streaky hitter. Goes cold for a while then when he gets in the groove just tears the cover off. Same thing last year too
  19. Who are the youngsters to watch on these teams??

  21. No argument from me that it’s time for him to go. Totally agree that he would’ve been shitcanned in nearly any other organization by now. I think it’s clear that reinsdorf’s top priority is turning a profit and not winning. He just wants to give the illusion of trying to field a competitive team because that helps his bottom line. I can’t think of any other reason for his keeping poor performers around.
  22. Gonna have to disagree on this, Hahn has a history of giving just as good as he gets when making trades. I’ll point to the trades that started this rebuild. C. Sale to the R Sox, we got Moncada and Kopech back. Pretty good (not great) return instead of watching sale waste his best years on a losing team. Sale has given them 20 WAR and we’ve gotten 14 from yoan, kopech, only 3 from Kopech. Grade- B Adam Eaton to Nationals for Giolito, Lopez, and Dunning (traded for Lance Lynn) Nationals got 5 WAR from Eaton, we have gotten a total of nearly 30 WAR from our return. Grade- A+ Quintana to the Cubs for Eloy and Cease. Q gave the Cubs like 6 or 7 war. We all know how good Cease has become and if Eloy could stay healthy he’s an all star caliber player. We have about 15 WAR between the two so far. Grade-A I agree that it’s time for Hahn to go, BUT let’s keep things in perspective, he is not the worst GM in the game. To say so is just hyperbole.
  23. He had a clean 1-2-3 inning with a swinging strikeout.
