  1. Most have Montgomery rated higher than Ramos it would seem, and I will say that I don’t know squat about scouting. But when you compare their numbers side by side, Ramos is doing just as well as Montgomery at a higher level and he’s a month younger. That has to mean something, if you take Colson’s fluky high BABIP out of the equation they have near identical OPS. I’m not sure why people aren’t as excited about Ramos as I am, but again, like I said I don’t know anything about scouting and am forced to just rely on the numbers I see
  2. He has to make mid season top 100 lists. He’s showing big league tools and is 2 years younger than average for A+
  3. You would think so. Probably have to put Ramos in consideration as well as Mena. There’s some exciting prospects in our lower minors right now, maybe the problem is that they’re all lower minors and that’s why we didn’t have any in the top 100 lists.
  4. Yermin stole a base. Perhaps the pitcher fell asleep?
  5. 4ip with no walks and no ER, probably the best start of Kelly’s career.
  6. I disagree. While he has broken out this season and is really mashing, If you look at his past performance he has always held his own at every level while being younger than the competition. Playing well against older competition tends to bode well for future success. that being said, what he’s been able to do so far as a 22year old in Birmingham has been special.
  7. I heard he’s a stress eater.
  8. I disagree about yolmer. He never showed any kind of power in the minors. He was always a contact type guy, not really the sort I suspect of taking the forbidden vitamins.
  9. Sr wasn’t exactly built like a SS either but he made it work.
  10. His pitches per plate appearance is up and his bb numbers as well as his avg and power. It possible that he’s finally putting together all the athletic tools, either that or he’s just gotten lucky and run into a few dingers and will come back down to earth.
  11. Sosa has been impressive and seems to be just getting better every season. I know he’s not viewed highly by scouting community but you can’t overlook his performance this year in a pitchers park. Also his home/road splits are nearly identical too.
  12. This is a pretty fast promotion. I hope they aren’t fast tracking him to the big team, seems like he needs time to work on his command before he’s ready but what do I know.
  13. We might have something in him. I say promote him to the big team and see what happens.
  14. I found a picture of his interview
  15. I read somewhere that he had a recent velocity spike that has him up 2-3mph on his fastball corresponding with his newfound success. Can he maintain???
  16. His parents really mailed it in when they were coming up with a name for son #2.
  17. Likely at the minor league all star break. That’s the standard time to promote players for the Sox. Also, he just turned 20 a month and a half ago so there’s no rush to move him.
  18. Ramos and Cespedes have both gone deep. How long until Ramos gets promoted? He’s been absolutely mashing this year, could potentially spend the rest of the season as a 20 year old in AA. I’m guessing they’ll do what they always do and promote him at the minor league all star break. Let him continue to refine his approach before they throw him to the wolves in AA.

  20. Gotcha
  21. Has been in the org for many years, calling card was always his defense. Has always shown good plate discipline without much else but last couple years the bat has come alive. He has become a legit prospect and has potential to be a starting catcher.
  22. He has not yet but plenty of doubles. It’s early in the season though, lots of room for statistical aberration at this point. I also seem to recall hearing that several of his 2b could easily have left the park with a little luck.
  23. Romy with the sombrero. I was excited for him going into this season but he has really been a dud out of the gate with nearly a 50% k rate. He has some ground to make up.
  24. Alec Hansen would be an improvement for him. At least Hansen had one amazing season before he fell apart. Kelley has done absolutely nothing so far.
  25. Gonna be interesting when he grows into his body. I’m hoping to see these doubles turn into HR’s.
