Crochet was assigned to B ham today for rehab.

Camiletti has a BB in nearly 50% of his plate appearances so far. Do we think this is sustainable??

Boo…I hate the travel days. On these days of watching the big team wallow in their own crapulence, following the minors is my only source of joy, seeing the young players succeed and promote gives me a glimmer of hope for a brighter tomorrow. ☀️

The SP for Pensacola didn’t make it out of the first inning agains B Ham. 7 runs in 0.0 ip. Makes me feel good to know that it happens to other teams too, not just us.

It’s good to see him walking more but he still has way too many K’s. That will likely limit him to a 4th OF role.
-
Dalquist is in mid season form already
-
I don’t want to jump the gun on him but if he keeps up this pace he’ll end the season with 44 2B, 44 3B, and 88 HR. Exciting prospect.

Totally agree. Also, it’s important to note that he isn’t the only GM in the game to make signings that didn’t pan out. plenty of examples of this happening every season, the main reason they aren’t the big dollar failures is because the owner is a cheap ass. Hahn also is largely responsible for making the trades that infused serious talent into the team i.e. kopech, moncada, cease, Eloy etc… those were some great moves that really positioned the team to make a championship run. Unfortunately the corresponding moves to push the team over the top didn’t pan out and we’ve been left with the roster we currently have. He’s done an ok job overall in my opinion given the constraints, nepostism and favoritism he has to deal with as part of the WS front office.

3/21 Sox vs Brewers, 3:10PM CT, Bally Sports Wisconsin

I’d rather have him on the bench than Sheets with his ability to play all 3 OF positions (and do it well). Sheets is painful to watch out there and his bat doesn’t make up for it at this point in his career. -
Totally agree, he wasn’t really saying anything negative, just that he used everything he could for motivation. Not a big deal.

You can’t take one or two guys, Bartolo Colon and David Wells come to mind, and say, “see, it’s no problem being fat and a good pitcher”. That is anecdotal evidence at best. The reality is these guys, 1-9 are professional athletes and while at some positions it’s ok to have a little extra weight due the the nature of the position, I’ll take someone who keeps their weight under control any day of the week. Nobody will ever perform at their best when carrying bad weight, even those who’s position requires less quick twitch athleticism

2023 MLB offseason signings and rumors thread

So pollock either vastly overrated his value on the open market or really hated playing for Chicago. Which is it??? Cost himself $7 million (I think) by declining his option which was for $14 million I believe. Personally, at 35 years old with rapidly declining athleticism and ability, I could handle a dysfunctional workplace for an extra $7 mil. -
Carlos Perez had 40 k’s in 418 ab last year in charlotte last year and then only 7 k’s in 159 ab in the Venezuelan league this offseason. That to go along with good power and by all accounts solid defense will play if we need another catcher to replace yaz this season. I think our resources need to be spent elsewhere.

Carlos Correa is a Twin - 6 yrs $200M
bighurt4life replied to Sleepy Harold's topic in Pale Hose Talk
He’s 28 now. Odds are that he’ll see a strong decline in his mid 30’s. I foresee them getting 5-7 good years from this contract and 5-7 years that are painful, trotting out a sub par player because he makes 30 mil a year and you have to play him. -

Haven’t heard anyone mention Adam Frazier. We already can pencil in Pollock b/c he’ll exercise his option, then Robert, Eloy, and hopefully Colas sooner than later. I’d rather bet on a bounce back year from Frazier as he is truly a utility guy who can play all over the OF. Also, he’s primarily a 2B so if Colas takes the RF spot and runs with it we can give Frazier plenty of AB’s replacing Harrison at 2nd while having a LH bat that can spot start all 3 OF positions. He had a pretty ugly year in Seattle but I’d you look at the numbers he just hit into a lot of bad luck, all the peripherals were in line with his career average. I like him in a 1 year prove it with a 2nd year team option.

What about that guy from bad news bears. He whipped that team into shape
-
Cespedes has definite holes in his game, I.e. High K rate, but this season we’ve really seen the tools he possesses. One of the few true 20/20 guys in the org imo. You can’t teach talent.
-
Good way to avoid estate taxes, sell your team for $1B or whatever the value, turn around and sink that money into a different $1B investment. This should keep the govt from taking 20% in cap gains.

Missing bats and no walks which seems to be his kryptonite.

Making everyone else look bad

Popeye didn’t even have a HR today. Is he still a prospect?
-
The HR gives Popeye 10hr and 40sb on the year. That’s a legit power speed combo at SS especially at only 21 years old playing in a Pitcher’s park.
-
J Rod just went deep. Also had a 2B today. He’s been on a crazy run the last 2 months.

I’ve given up on the team this year, as long as TLR is manager anyways. I say preserve the service time and let him see AAA before a call up
