  1. QUOTE (Lemon_44 @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 06:11 AM) Didn't they have a hotsot SS propect a few years back that was supposed to set MLB on fire. I think his name was Liu or something along those lines. Just goes to show how many of those "can't miss" propspects actually miss. Is that Philly OF playing this year, Brown? Who would've though Juan Pierre would be playing OF and hitting over .300 and Brown is yet to be heard from. Then you have guys like Quintana and Nate Jones come out of nowhere and have big time success. 24 teams passed on Mike Trout.
  2. I haven't watched much TV yesterday and just turned it on.. Are they really working on a trade now that would send Howard to the Lakers? And some of you guys wanna keep our core and wait for Derrick to get healthy? Wowza.
  3. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 12:34 AM) Your post made it seem like you were referring to the collective as eating "most" of the cap, not just one. My bad. Why can't the Bulls sign three max contracts when Miami can? Didn't they agree to take a pay cut in order to pay together?
  4. QUOTE (kitekrazy @ Jul 11, 2012 -> 12:36 AM) A new league, a new position. That's how the Big Hurt summed it up. I think it's big difference being out in the field and you see the ball more which means you see it better instead of being on a bench all day waiting your turn. When Luzinski signed with the Sox he had a TV so he could see the opposing pitcher in between episode of Victory at Sea. I still think it's tougher to go from the NL to the AL as a hitter. Pujols hasn't been tearing up the AL. Yup, this plus many other things contributed, big contract, big expectations, Ozzie f***ing Guillien, the appendectomy etc.
  5. QUOTE (Jake @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 10:20 PM) f*** you Ron Washington. Unless someone tells me that Dunn asked out of the game, that was very much horses***. Several chances to get him in there. f*** him, he's probably upset we swept their ass a week ago. Let these guys get some rest and come banging on Friday!
  6. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 09:38 PM) This is the most boring All-Star Game in my 29 year life. Same here and I'm not even 29 yet.
  7. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 09:25 PM) These two players arent the concern though(although Wade is definitely a great player). As long as LBJ is healthy, they are to be considered the favorite until someone can knock them off their perch. LBJ conquered his playoff/finals demons last season, and we all saw what happened when MJ did that. It didnt matter who was surrounding him besides Pippen, they were going to win. Sitting around and hoping that the "core" gets healthy, stays healthy, and gets better in the next two years while every other team is actively trying to get better is really a piss poor plan. I believe Kaplan came up with idea a while ago saying Bulls should trade for Howard and worst case scenario if he doesn't sign extension you have bunch of cap space to work with, then I'd try to do everything I can to bring in Love if he is available. I hear him and Rose are good buddies.
  8. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 04:12 PM) No matter what, at least one of Noah/Deng would have to go. Whether it is to the Magic or a 3rd team. Bulls would need to move one of those contracts (along with other guys) to get the salaries to balance out. Bulls have a lot of potential assets to offer and quite frankly better draft picks to offer then the Nets. And if Dwight walks, like I said, Bulls are in a spot where they can then amnesty Boozer and make a few other deals and they'd be in a pretty darn good spot. Yes and yes!
  9. My job schedule is absolutely killing my workout schedule. UGH.
  10. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 10, 2012 -> 12:09 AM) I'm off this week: Should I go to Ted or Spiderman? Or Savages? All three are playing. See all three. Saw Savages last night, decent flick.
  11. QUOTE (LittleHurt05 @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 01:16 PM) Anyone else notice that Andy Murray was British before the final, but suddenly was Scottish after he lost? LOL. Hey good to see our girl Radwanska at least put up a solid fight btw.
  12. QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 05:13 PM) Dude, I had no idea they are remaking ROBOCOP, siiiiiiick!
  13. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) Fan? No. Just realistic and not delusional as some. Take that hawk harrelson cheer until you drop dead garbage somewhere else. It's 2012. Why the f*** we even play the games? Why not just crown the Yankees before season start. I don't really get your logic.
  14. QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 10:09 PM) As will an umpire who makes a bad call. Its part of the game. Always has been and always will be, although its undoubtedly more prevalent in the era of mega-contracts that bring mega-expectations. But I agree that its makes no logical sense (and may indeed be counter-productive) unless a guy is downright dogging it. Still, I don't think booing makes someone a worse fan than someone who doesn't. It stems from passion. Yup.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 10:05 PM) Well, I guess I better stop booing Carlos Boozer for being defensively inept. I'm sure if I cheer real, real, hard he'll morph into 2004 Ben Wallace. You're a Miami Heat fan, boo the Bulls all you want..
  16. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 09:54 PM) What separates Sox fans from any other fanbase in sports? Why can't we boo our own when they don't perform? He is saying SOX fans shouldn't boo SOX players, what the f*** does boing the Cubs have anything to do with this ?
  17. QUOTE (Kalapse @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 07:24 PM) No, he doesn't. It's rather pathetic that you would even think that. And no, I don't have a problem with booing. I'm glad I'm not the only one who thought that was ridiculous to say.
  18. QUOTE (flavum @ Jul 8, 2012 -> 08:04 PM) I don't know if Peavy going to the AS Game changes things now, but I have a feeling it's Quintana on Friday. Quintana Peavy Sale Floyd Humber (if he's ready) ding ding ding. winner, and if anyone else called it earlier, my bad didn't feel like going back. @DanHayesCSN #WhiteSox probables for Kansas City this weekend: Jose Quintana, Jake Peavy, Chris Sale.
  19. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 02:20 PM) One other thing on the Greinke/Hamels discussion...if we wanted to go after either of them, the team we're going to have to beat for them is the Rangers, who sure as heck sound like they're willing to part with 3b prospect Mike Olt (#34 on BA's list coming into the year) for starting pitching. Makes sense anyway, since Adrian Beltre isn't giving up their 3b spot for several years. No way we can come up with better prospects than Rangers, as their farm is stacked. But chances are they won't go after both Greinke and Hamels.
  20. QUOTE (RZZZA @ Jul 9, 2012 -> 03:54 PM) Is anybody actually entertained by the HR derby? I watch it, why not.
