CHICAGO – Following today’s game vs. San Diego, the Chicago White Sox optioned infielder Marcus Semien to Class AAA Charlotte. Semien, 23, is hitting .218 (36-165) with seven doubles, one triple, three home runs, 18 RBI and 22 runs scored in 43 games this season. He has appeared in 24 games (23 starts) at third base, 17 (16) at second and one at shortstop. All three of Semien’s home runs this season have given the White Sox the lead in the seventh inning or later. The White Sox will make a corresponding roster move prior to tomorrow night’s series opener at Los Angeles-NL. EDIT: someone please fix the title.
