  1. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 11:53 PM) The Texans look like they might finally be putting together the combination that will unlock the playoff safe IMO. I agree. With that defense, Foster keeps doing what he did last season, with Shaub and Johnson, I think they could do it this year.
  2. Mike C. Wright: Filed to ESPNChicago.com: S Danieal Manning signs with Houston Texans, 4 years, $20 million, $9 million guaranteed.
  3. Good GQ article about agent david canter's minute by minute 72 hour frenzy that is being an nfl agent and making his client the richest safety in the league. http://www.gq.com/sports/profiles/201107/e...e-agent-signing
  4. I just have to point this out, check out what Chris Kluwe wants McNabb to do if he wants his #5 jersey http://bit.ly/qL7ZpZ
  5. QUOTE (WHarris1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 10:36 PM) 2nd day in a row with tweets about Bears fans I believe. I'm warming up to the idea of Sims-Walker. He'd be the best receiver on the roster. And a day before that he said in a Tribune article that he thinks he would be an ideal fit for the Bears.
  6. Rosenthal: Sources: #Phillies making progress on Pence. Talks coming to a head.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 09:56 PM) So the Bears have reached out to Roy Williams, and now to Mike Sims-Walker. I fully expect one of these two or Malcolm Floyd on the Bears in the next 48 hours. Is someone reporting that? Because that would be pretty cool with me. I would prefer Floyd first, but I'm really not going to be picky its just good to hear they are thinking about adding at WR
  8. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 09:57 PM) KW doesn't want Ozzie to walk away, he just wants him to say Miami is the place he wants to be. Compensation baby. Maybe not Logan Morrison, but something worthwhile. I would like to see what Logan Morrison would have to say on twitter about getting traded for a manager though.
  9. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 09:51 PM) Yes RT @jim_reedy: @CSNChi_Beatnik Was that why it wasn't Jackson-for-Rasmus, because St. Louis wouldn't take Teahen's contract? YIKES. Teahen. I dislike you greatly right now. I saw this too but then I was looking at his earlier tweets tonight and saw this one. "Rumor mill had it twisted; KW was told not to ADD payroll--not that he had to CUT. TOR deal bought some wiggle room" Which made me question, If your staring a player with the caliber of Rasmus and you doing necessarily have to cut (according to him) then the sox should have just done Jackson-for-Rasmus which would have still freed up a tiny amount of money since Jackson would be gone and go from there.
  10. QUOTE (Thad Bosley @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) I haven't been a big fan of Aramis in recent years, but this year he's been on his game, so as long as the rental cost wasn't too extravagant, he could be the perfect addition to pick up any offensive slack lost in a Quentin trade, while also upgrading a position we happen to be deficient at (offensively speaking). I have a feeling ARam would just disappear if he got on a team in a pennant race. He has no pressure on the Cubs and hasnt in some time so he can go at his own pace and put up numbers, but I think we would be disappointed with what he would do with the sox.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 08:16 PM) I doubt he's gone before tomorrow. Kenny can play brinksmanship here. yeah but whats the chances he actually plays in the game with trade talks going on. He might suit up, but he'll just be sitting there looking good. Then Ozzie can play Rios and De Aza and keep KW happy.
  12. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 07:31 PM) Ricky Weeks just went on the DL. Why are you such a Negative Nancy today? Jeez. I think hes talking about a future standpoint. If they asked for Beckham in the deal, obviously they will have some problems when Weeks gets off the DL
  13. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 07:24 PM) Olsen for a 3rd rounder. That's it. No player coming to CHI. That hurts a bit, I wasnt expecting much but Connor could have filled a need, oh well.
  14. How amazing would the Brewers bullpen look with Thornton adding to K-Rod and Axford, untouchable final 3 innings of a game possibly.
  15. Cowleys tweets make KW sound depressed as s***. Idk if anyone else picks up on that mood
  16. If kenny feels like theres no hope for this team, then he doesnt think this team is a winner. Good luck trying to re-sign Buehrle with that attitude, why would he want to come back to a team like this.
  17. cst_Cowley cst_Cowley Told Quentin isn't the only player being shopped, and if KW doesn't get a deal he likes now he is willing to wait until offseason.
  18. From Mr. Cowardly: cst_Cowley cst_Cowley Disappointing to hear, but was just told that KW doesn't really believe in this team and is looking to ship more bodies out. cst_Cowley cst_Cowley Raise the White Flag, as the buzzards are circling the South Side.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 06:55 PM) Connor had surgery to repair a cracked left hip last November. One of the better run-defending linebackers in football last season, Connor's position is unclear heading to 2011. The current assumption is that he'll be manning the strong side. If that's the case, that'd be really swell as Urlacher struggles to stop the run. 47 tackles in 8 games last season, hopefully the hip wont give him any problems and he can produce in chicago.
  20. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 06:47 PM) MrFantasyExpert Fantasy Expert White Sox and Brewers still working out the specifics and all indications are the Gamel+prospect/s for Rios-salary/Thornton/Escobar is a go haha beat me to it. I have been waiting all day for an update, when I saw it pop up I could not believe it.
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 02:37 PM) So, Phillies, Pirates, Braves, Red Sox. Those may be the best 4 teams in baseball now to be interested in your player. Now, the price should rocket due to demand. If the Phillies are offering Brown +, then the price for the other 3 needs to be #1 +. Sweet day. You just hope KW doesnt blow this opportunity, which with him is highly likely.
  22. I would be completely fine with losing Kruetz if we get a viable replacement, like Steve said, Shaun O'Hara possibly. I think I read that Brad Biggs said the Bears contacted Malcolm Floyd (6'5'' WR) who I would love for the bears to get, but he will command a lot of money. I know we will get nothing good back for Olsen so I am already acting like he is not part of the team. Overall, I can understand the Bears being patient, but lets go.
  23. http://espn.go.com/chicago/nfl/story/_/id/...sen-sources-say Interesting. I do not want to see this happen at all since we would have no at the tight end position besides Kellen Davis, but it sounds like they gave Drew the go-ahead, but just did not want him to make it so public with an email. Edit: Idk if Cutler could handle a break up with his fiance and his best friend leaving the team all in the same month. This season is in jeopardy!
  24. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 02:00 AM) I like this get now that I see him pitch. I think under Buehrle and Coop, he'll flourish and he and Sale can step in for Danks and Floyd. If only KW & Gang knew what we knew by just watching condensed games But if that was the case where Stewart and Sale are the eventual take overs of Danks and Floyd, I can only imagine what we get for those two and where those players go. (Now im thinking way too into it, i guess its a bit late)
  25. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jul 28, 2011 -> 01:24 AM) Arguments for Leyland over Dave Dombrowski....this situation has a LOT in common with the one in Chicago with KW/Ozzie. Except we don't have two superstars on our roster. http://www.freep.com/article/20110727/SPOR...-has-Tigers-1st Dombrowski got ripped in this article, but I guess it was rightfully so. I feel like people always talk about him in a positive light, but whatever works. Sounds like they could both be gone with anything less then a first place finish.
