Buehrle's got a right to his own opinion, but what a dumbass for saying anything publically. He can speak in generalities about treating animals the right way, but to point out Vick specifically is beyond dumb. I hope some of the leaders on the team (Konerko and maybe Dunn) make a point at the beginning of spring training that outside distractions won't be tolerated this season, and that they're there for one thing--to win baseball games.

I watched the first 10 minutes of Mr. Sunshine. Didn't laugh once, and deleted it.

The Sox won't need a 5th starter until April 9th, and then not again until April 19th. At the very least, I hope they use Harrell or Humber on the 9th, and then not let Peavy start until the 19th at the earliest. No need to rush him.

I don't think Buehrle deserves an extension during the season. All he's been talking about the last two years is retiring at the end of his contract. I love the guy, don't get me wrong. But I want players on the Sox that want to be there and want to bust ass to win a championship. If Buehrle has reservations about continuing his career, the best thing he could do is play on one-year contracts.

This Morel thing is just to light the fire under him during spring training. He can't tell Morel that he has the job even though he does. As long as he isn't pitiful with the bat in March, Morel will be there on opening day. Pierzynski batting 6th? I suppose the lineup can be fluid 6-9, but I hope Quentin earns his way back up to 6th, and AJ can go to 8, especially if Morel is batting 9th.

Pretty nice list. Good call on McCann. I think he may be quietly building a Hall of Fame career, and nobody knows it yet.
