Make that 5 shutouts today. Cleveland shutout Houston 2-0. Carrasco may have finally found it.

They shouldn't even try to steal on Perez. Know your limitations. if Eaton can't steal on a catcher like Perez, don't do it. Just use your speed for 1st to 3rd.

Hopefully the Sox pull this one out. That Hosmer homer...really acting that way in the 3rd inning of the second game of the season? So un-pro.

You got Price, Milone, Vargas, Duffy, and House in the division. That's 25% of the division starters. If Beckham starts 40 and Gillaspie starts 120, is that bad? I mean, other than Beckham getting 40 starts? BTW- the average last five seasons, the Sox face lefty starters 43 games per season.

Milone is starting Friday. Pelfrey and Hughes against Shark and Sale.

It's been a thing in the past where you give everyone a start the first series just to get their feet wet at the beginning of the season. I'm sure Soto and Bonifacio will start tomorrow, and then they'll play the regulars at home, until Milone starts--then probably more Bexx.

QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 02:02 PM) Really? Come on. I get sticking by your point if you had one. But fact check yourself.. Noesi never has pitched over 160 innings in his career. That was last year. The next highest are 106 innings and 55 innings. Danks has pitched 193, 138, 53, 170 innings over his past 4 years. Shark - has started over 30 games twice Rodon - hasn't sniffed the majors yet and will most likely be on a innings limitation Quintana - has pitched consistently in his 3 years up. But far from calling him Mark Buehrle Sale - has started 30 games once in his 3 years I'm done responding on this topic. It's too much to get worked up about. You're right. It's going to be sunshine and rainbows all year. Bye

The first 5 you listed. Not the second 5. But I don't think Penny will. Before June, Carroll. After June, Rodon. Anything else, it's doubleheaders or injuries I don't want to think about.

QUOTE (Ozzie Ball @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 01:24 PM) This is optimistic. On average, teams will use 10 starters per season (Sox used exactly 10 last year) and will need, on average, 32 starts from starters outside their top 5 (Sox had 26 last year). Yes, an optimistic and realistic scenario if Sale, Samardzija, Quintana, Danks, Rodon, and Noesi stay healthy...which for the most part, they have been.

QUOTE (SoxPride18 @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 01:20 PM) Man, the Twins are going to be BAD this season. Not sure this is a statement I would make until Sunday night. It's a team the Sox are going to have to dominate.

QUOTE (BrianAnderson @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 12:27 PM) Cart ahead of horse here. Let's take it one start at a time. Sale has gone on the DL in the past. Talking about his 32nd start for game 163?? a) we have to get to that point first b) who cares if its his 25th, 32nd, or 40th start. I think people need to step back sometimes and go with the classic Hawk line -- you are going to win 60 and lose 60 every year. It's what you do with the other 42 that counts. It's a long season. Breaking down that Danks will get 10 starts??? And Rodon exactly 22??? come on man. Sorry math offends you. I'd like to see a healthy rotation after Sale gets back. And if Rodon is ready on June 1st, I'd like to see that too.

QUOTE (Stan Bahnsen @ Apr 8, 2015 -> 10:49 AM) Though I want to watch baseball tonight, one rainout is good - I think it means no missed starts for Sale, and he can potentially get to 32 or 33. The forecast for game time has got worse. Hopefully they do get rained out tonight, and make it up in August. I assume they'll insert a 6-man rotation once in a while--especially in August. If they can get 95 starts from Sale, Shark, and Q, I'd take it. And have Sale in line for 163, the wildcard game, or Game 1 of the ALDS...which would be his 32nd start. Samardzija 32 Quintana 32 Sale 31 Noesi 31 Danks 10 Rodon 22 Other 4 This would be nice.

Doesn't look like a washout in KC today. Looks like the Sox will actually play the first 6 games without a rainout.
