  1. Hanson 6 ip, 6 h, 0 er, 2 bb, 1 hbp, 5 k 94 pitches, 59 strikes
  2. QUOTE (ptatc @ May 6, 2014 -> 07:49 PM) They want to watch a meaningful game......the Hawks. Oh, are they playing tonight?
  3. Get a couple guys on with Abreu up.
  4. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 6, 2014 -> 07:36 PM) I wonder if he got a call from MLB today... Nah.
  5. Tommy Hanson is pitching a pretty good game in Charlotte right now.
  6. https://twitter.com/Cubs/status/463830337647157248/photo/1 Nice? I guess?

  8. Sierra will play RF. Viciedo LF. De Aza, Beckham, Abreu, Viciedo, Ramirez, Sierra, Flowers, Semien, Noesi.
  9. Dunn has been scratched with a bruised right calf.
  10. QUOTE (Hawkfan @ May 6, 2014 -> 01:38 PM) That is awesome, what did he say? The stuff about latin players that don't walk off the island. They hit their way. I wouldn't say it's racist, but it's a stereotype that probably should go away.
  11. So, Dan Bernstein pretty much just called Hawk a racist.
  12. Beck: 6.1 ip, 8 h, 3 er, 3 bb, 3 k Pretty meh season.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ May 6, 2014 -> 01:09 PM) I just really have a hard time we are gonna hitch our wagon to a high schooler. It's pretty obvious they're taking a pitcher, and no matter who that it--whether it's Rodon or Aiken or Kolek, or somebody else, it's a gamble. I'm glad they have the 3rd pick, and I'm confident in the Sox ability to develop pitching, but call me when this guy is healthy and good in Birmingham--and a phone call away from the majors.
  14. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ May 6, 2014 -> 11:52 AM) Kris Bryant pulled in the 3rd inning for the Smokies. Stomach bug
  15. Hahn spoke at length about Sale this morning. http://thegamechicago.com/2014/05/06/white.../#axzz30xPdPEhc
  16. QUOTE (IlliniKrush @ May 6, 2014 -> 10:45 AM) She couldn't have been more full of crap. No logic given, just said "it's because of 15/15" 10 times. Which doesn't actually explain anything. Oh and the best part was saying how you have to have a week with 3 series in it. OK, great....so, what exactly would prevent, say, Arizona from playing the Sox Monday-Wednesday this week and having the Cubs series Thu-Sun? Still 3 series. Theoretically, they absolutely could do a Thursday-Sunday or Friday-Monday 2/2 series, but the only difference would be traveling on Friday or Saturday night, and having a day game the next day. Since the Sox and Cubs play in the same city, that's fine. But when the Tigers and Pirates are treated the same way, the 2/2 series becomes easier to go Monday-Thursday with all night games, and do that for all of the "natural rivals". It's tough to schedule 52 series for 30 different teams that have their own requests, but the truly local series should have some more attention.
  17. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 6, 2014 -> 09:29 AM) I think it will happen within the next 10-15 years. I sometimes think they should put the DH in the NL, but then I think: once they do that, they're one step closer to radical realignment--which would be terrible, as far as I'm concerned. I'd eliminate divisions, play 144 league games, plus 18 interleague games. Top 3 get seeded in the right order, and the 4th and 5th best place teams play one game to get in. It's still 5 of 15, but based on merit, not geography or "rivalries" that don't even exist.
  18. It's irritating there is no Longoria or Machado in this draft. But the thing is, there could be, and that player will get picked at 7, or 12, or in the 5th round. Such a crap shoot.
  19. QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ May 6, 2014 -> 09:17 AM) The Sox should play the Cubs, Cardinals, Tigers, Indians 6 games and the Brewers 3 18 games every year. If they ever put the Sox and Cubs in the same division with 18-19 games, I'm done with baseball.
  20. The Sox should play the Cubs 6 games and the Brewers 3 games every year. When you have two teams within 100 miles, you should play them. Interleague play should be used to stay as local as possible. But the league schedule should be balanced and divisions should be eliminated.
  21. Katy Feeney was on the Score this morning. She sounds like a pleasure. http://chicago.cbslocal.com/audio/986-670-...-interviews#986 Sox and Cubs will play 3/3 next year when it's AL Central vs NL Central.
  22. 7:07, CSN (Sox), WGN Go Sox!
  23. NL baseball sucks. And with these two teams playing it, holy crap. Unwatchable.
