  1. Paulino-hit, walk, 3-run homer, walk k, cool
  2. Michalczewski putting up pretty good numbers for a 19-yr old. Switch hitter. Hopefully the Sox have something there.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ May 8, 2014 -> 05:39 PM) STill waiting for first rehab assignment. Hahn was just talking about him going on a rehab assignment in the next 7-10 days, so put that at May 15-18. And then hopefully he's ready to go 6 innings in KC or Chicago May 20-23.
  4. http://www.milb.com/scoreboard/index.jsp?c...mp;ymd=20140508 Davidson not back yet.
  5. QUOTE (sin city sox fan @ May 8, 2014 -> 04:57 PM) For those of you not a fan of Hawk, it could be a hell of lot worse. I was stuck listening the Cubs announcers Tuesday night on WGN. Granted, the game wasn't the most entertaining but those bozos (whomever they were) almost put me to sleep. That may be true, but I also think when it's "your guy", you tend to put up with more. That's why 95% of people outside of Sox fans hate Hawk, and always have. Look, I really liked Hawk and have watched him his whole Sox career...and there are still things I like about him. But he used to be good, and now he's not. He's terrible, and getting worse. And there's also a nasty, bitter old man coming out waaay too much. I get that he wants to be in the Hall of Fame, but if he's going to stick around until he's dead, it's going to be a sad state of affairs.

  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 8, 2014 -> 04:17 PM) My thoughts exactly. So you think Hawk doesn't believe Alexei is the best SS in baseball, but he says it anyway... That's a load of crap. He absolutely believes it, and he doesn't know any better. And if he was just saying stuff to create some excitement, the fans are way too smart for that crap anymore.
  8. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 8, 2014 -> 04:04 PM) He is also very obviously cheerleading his own guy. People read way too much into stuff like this. Give me a f***ing break.
  9. QUOTE (Dunt @ May 8, 2014 -> 03:48 PM) You are simply not a Sox fan if you dont enjoy Hawk. Riiiiiight
  10. Rougned Odor called up. Great name.
  11. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 8, 2014 -> 03:26 PM) He was talking about this last night during the game, and gave Tulo lots of props for what he has done at the plate. His point was that when you factor in defense too, Alexei is having the best year in his eyes. And he's wrong.
  12. Good to see Dunn back. (can't believe I said that)
  13. I would never hope for Hawk to die, but he has said he wants to die in the booth...literally. If we actually have to listen to a 75, 76...79-year-old Hawk call games, it's going to get awful for everyone. He's already slipping a lot this year at almost 73.
  14. http://espn.go.com/espnradio/chicago/play?id=10902181 If you enjoy hating Hawk like I do, this is the interview for you. About the 44 minute mark. Hey Hawk, there's this guy named Troy Tulowitzki that plays SS for the Rockies. Remember, you were there about a month ago?

In my opinion, what made Mad Men great was learning about the characters and their back stories as they went along. Once you know everything about the character, it gets a bit familiar to things that have already happened. It's still good. The writing is top-notch. The stories are interesting. I just can't be surprised like I used to. That said, I fully expect the last seven episodes to be great next year.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ May 8, 2014 -> 01:30 PM) Alright seriously Mad Men, wtf. Do you really expect us to believe for the 19th time that Don has hit rock bottom and is going to change his ways? I'm never not going to like Mad Men (they're too close to the end for that). But this show would have been better off as 5-6 great seasons, and leave on top. Breaking Bad did it right.
  17. Sox starters are averaging 5.6 (almost 5 2/3) innings per start. They need to get that over 6 in a hurry, and even better when Sale gets back. It would be great if Sale comes back and doesn't miss any more time. Sale, Quintana, Johnson, Danks, and Carroll/Noesi would be an above average rotation, provided they make all of their starts. And if the bullpen doesn't go backwards too much, this team can win games and potentially get on a run. It's all about health with this team.
  18. Yankees will retire Joe Torre's number 6 on August 23, before a game with the White Sox.
  19. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ May 8, 2014 -> 11:54 AM) Baseball! Game on WGN and I think it's Hawk and Stoney giving play by play. ESPN was gagga over Abreu last night and we saw some good baseball played by our Sox. Tuesday was good too WGN is the Cubs broadcast. Sox on CSN.
  20. QUOTE (Soxfest @ May 8, 2014 -> 11:31 AM) He says he is yet rips Sox every chance he gets. His comments on the radio all these years would say otherwise, he may have grew up one as a kid as a adult he is hardly a Sox fan. He's a numbers fan. He can go "meatball" for the Bears and Bulls, but when it comes to baseball, he has to be the smartest one in the room, just like a lot of baseball fans these days. And obviously he has a crush on Theo, so he's rooting for their plan to work.
  21. QUOTE (Y2JImmy0 @ May 8, 2014 -> 11:28 AM) Umm Dan Bernstein is a White Sox fan. He grew up as a Sox fan. He's more of a Dan Bernstein fan now.
  22. Rockies non-pitchers are hitting .319. They average 1.35 more runs per game than the next best NL team. The home/road splits are there, but they're great everywhere.
  23. Sox/Cubs games are the New Year's Eve of the baseball schedule. It's amateur night for fans. And that's fine, but don't expect a lot of good fans to put up with stupidity.
