Making a case for NCAA Football Playoff
Um, keep in mind these kids are student athletes. They have finals now. They would not even take some of their finals prob if they were worrying about a tourny. I would also say cut the tourny down to eight teams. Sixteen is way too many.

Trade Discussed
They would have to sign Bartolo or another top pitcher. If Boston got Washburn, they'd have the best staff in MLB: Pedro, Schilling, Washburn, Lowe, and Wakefield.
-
Uribe
What would it look like if they said they didn't like the guy they just traded for? I think both teams didn't get as much as they though, but I'd rather have Uribe than Miles.

Your Offseason Wish List
I am excited for the team now. All the possibilities.

I agree with alot of you're stuff, just I am not sure if most is achievable or not.

Uribe
I see what you're saying. I am not sure what to expect. The problem I think we will have with Oz, is it's his first time through. I have a feeling you are right, and we won't have the guys to do that style. AL Central is not the NL East. I do see where you are coming from.

That is why I didn't put Joe with the others. Even if we had a $100 million payroll, we would still put him at 3B. He is special.

Uribe
This team is nothing like the Marlins. Their leader was their catcher, our catcher is a youngster. Their 1B was a GG, ours is a turtle and has less range then a sloth. They had a 2B, we, um, don't. They had a guy was atleast known in CF, we have unproven guys fighting it out. They had a top closer, we have Marte -- who is a stud, but I would rather see him come in in tight spots.

Hasegawa (while I have been a huge fan) will end up back with SEA. Grimsley wants to stay in KC (why I do not know). I would be shocked if we atleast don't offer Sully arbitration. I would love a strong pen, but we have to wait and see. No matter what KW does, no one will be happy. I am happy with seeing cheaper guys in the field (ie Daubach, Uribe, Harris, and Rowand; Crede doesn't really count as one of these guys).

I agree 100%, but I am just saying if we are going to go with pitching, we need a staff in here that can do it. A pen of Marte, Wunsch, Wright, and Koch right now won't do it. A rotation of MB, Loz, JG, and Show won't do it. Add Colon and our rotation is better, but no Brown, Nomo, Ishii, Perez, and Alverez. Our pen is no Mota, Quantrill, Shuey, and ofcourse Gagne.

Uribe
2-10...I'd say ya could get him for cheaper. They tried him as a starter last year. I would love him as a middle reliever here.

Guys, but we don't have near the pitching. So many holes on this team.

Uribe
Jiminez made in neighborhood of $3.6 mil last year, and is a free agent.

Dodgers last year. Did that get it done? No. We don't even have a staff like that.

Okay...
Two tubs of goo on one team. That'd be, well, UGLY. I'd rather have Bob f***ing Wells, than David Wells. Hey, atleast tub of goo #1 would have someone to go to the buffets with now.

Tribune Article
We need Carl back. The core of what we have been doing (Frank, Kong, Mags, CLee, and Jose) has not worked. Go in a new direction. We need Carl.
