QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 03:59 PM) No, this is not from the Heckler. Jason La CanforaVerified account @JasonLaCanfora Browns cutting QBs today opens up a spot for Matt Schaub. If they don't get him, then Rex Grossman is the next man up Is that an Onion headline? -

QUOTE (zenryan @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 07:31 PM) He'll be the 4th best QB in the NFC South by a wide, wide margin until Brees retires. Not going to make the playoffs many times when you're starting the worst QB in the division. Manziel/Bortles/Murray or Mettenburger will be the 4th best QB in the division too in 2014 and probably 2015 if the Bucs draft them. But atleast there is the possibility of one of those 4 surpassing one of those guys in the next few years. Or at the very worst, they close the gap significantly between those three teams. I agree with your points, but I think it makes more sense to start Manziel/Bortles/Murray immediately and let them learn on the fly, rather than pay McCown to start. With Lovie Smith as coach, the rookies won't be depended on to win football games alone. -

QUOTE (JPN366 @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 03:10 PM) Golden Tate just broke my heart. He would have been a better fit in Detroit if Schwartz was still there. -
John Danks is the 7th worst contract in baseball

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 02:17 PM) Scott Merkin @scottmerkin 32m General consensus from scouts on John Danks: Better than expected, and that's a good thing Obviously the regular season hasn't started yet, but I have felt like Danks has been so quickly written off due to this one injury. He is just turning 29, I still don't see why he can't live up to most of his contract value. -
I'm already nervous about a first round series vs. the Avalanche. It would be nice to get on a hot streak and pass the Blues.

QUOTE (PlaySumFnJurny @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 01:19 PM) Adam Schefter @AdamSchefter · 1m Bucs agree to two-year deal with QB Josh McCown, per @MikeMccartney7. Good for him after coaching high school football 18 months ago. It will be interesting to see him go from Trestman to the offensive guru Lovie. -
THANK GOD Bill Melton works as a baseball announcer
LittleHurt05 replied to The Ultimate Champion's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It's hard to believe one team may have the two worst announcers in all of baseball. -
QUOTE (whitesoxfan99 @ Mar 11, 2014 -> 11:56 AM) Holy crap was HIMYM awful last night. I'm so happy there is only 3 episodes left. Maybe I'll just delete that one from the DVR.

QUOTE (greg775 @ Mar 11, 2014 -> 11:31 PM) Has the horrific winter in Chicago made any of you make any life decisions? By that I mean ... a.) you have now decided that "someday" in the future you will retire somewhere outside of frigid/snowy Chicago or b.) you've decided to immediately, at this stage of your life, look for work in a warm weather climate (Cali, Texas, Nevada)? It just seems you've gotten snow after snow; arctic blast after arctic blast. Our winter sucked here as well. I do hate the cold and ice. I never thought it would cross my mind, but I definitely have thought about it more this winter. My wife is from the desert in SoCal and she has family there, so we would have an easy place to move to. Problem is my business leaves me zero chance of moving right now, so it's all a dream today. Plus, the summers there would be worse than Chicago winters for me, 110+ degrees every day. Today's snow doesn't bother me much knowing that it will be 52 degrees on Friday.

QUOTE (Leonard Zelig @ Mar 11, 2014 -> 06:25 PM) http://mh370lost.tumblr.com/post/792146078...ion-to-the-ntsb Not sure if anything is being ruled out at this time. Just the thought of that happening is crazy. A 777 just flying along normally without a single conscious person on board.

QUOTE (bmags @ Mar 11, 2014 -> 10:33 PM) Amazed Broncos have Ward and Talib signed. How do they have that money? Also, sorry site about Byrd. I'm sure they figured out a way to circumvent the cap for this year while risking their future leverage. With their situation, they have to go all-in this year. -

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 12, 2014 -> 06:49 AM) Seattle just paid Bennett and have a lot of other young players who are going to have to get paid. Bears should be in better position financially. The question is does Allen care about getting paid again or winning right now. His first FA contract was the biggest all-time for a defensive player, so he has gotten the big payday. -
Ervin Santana has signed a one-year deal with the Braves. The deal makes so much sense for a contending team whose rotation was just decimated by injury.
-
A senior Malaysian military source is claiming that they tracked the flight for an hour after it disappeared from air traffic control screens. He claims that it turned and the last sign was near the Strait of Malacca, which is on Malaysia's western coast, or the complete opposite side of the country that they have been searching. http://www.haaretz.com/news/world/1.579123

QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Mar 11, 2014 -> 11:01 AM) This story gets wackier by the minute. Is it possible the plane was just hijacked or are people assuming the worse at this point? If it were hijacked, where could it have landed and remained undetected for nearly 72 hours now? It wasn't a small regional jet, this was a 777.

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 11, 2014 -> 10:42 AM) http://chicago.cbslocal.com/2014/03/11/que...er-this-season/ There's your major trade deadline move for the Hawks.

Islanders spotted the Nucks a 3-0 lead after two last night, then put up a 7-spot in the 3rd. Oh Vancouver, you never cease to entertain us.

QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Mar 11, 2014 -> 07:12 AM) So the two guys who were using stolen passports have been identified. They are both Iranians, and according to family members, they stole passports in order to get into Europe where they were going to seek asylum. It is possible that their families are covering for them, but a Malaysian jet carrying mostly Chinese citizens does not seem a likely target for Iranian terrorists. Most likely just a coincidence that they were on a flight that went down. In other bizarre airline news, North Korea conducted an unannounced missile test that happened to come close to crossing paths with a Chinese passenger jet. That's pretty dumb on NK's part. If they piss off China, they pretty much cease to exist. They posted photos of the two Iranians, who look very Iranian. I'm not really sure where the Malaysian spokesperson got the Mario Balotelli comparison.

And on the first warm day of the year in Chicago, nine people got shot. I guess the horrible winter was saving lives after all.

Peverly had a cardiac event and they successfully defibrillated him. When he regained consciousness, he asked to get back in the game.
-
Dallas Stars' Rich Peverly, who has had issues with an irregular heartbeat, collapsed on the bench tonight and was rushed to the hospital. They say he is conscious and will be OK, but scary stuff. The game was postponed. http://deadspin.com/cbj-stars-game-current...rley-1540912374

As the snow melts, the dog poop shows up. Parts of my yard I see more poop than grass.
