  2. QUOTE (Capn12 @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 02:17 PM) We are on fire today against this hot Orioles team! CY BERKEN DUDEZ!!!!!!11
  3. QUOTE (Brian @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 12:35 PM) Anyone picking the Bills to make the AFC title game? I would, but Brady is back. I'll say Patriots/Chargers AFC title game, and Falcons/Eagles NFC title game. The 6 worst teams will be, in order: Cleveland, Tampa, Detroit, St Louis, Jacksonville, Denver. QUOTE (rangercal @ Aug 23, 2009 -> 12:07 PM) Rex had a cannon, but I'm not sure if he ever launched the ball in the air 60 yards on a roll out. Unlike most Bear fans, I appreciated Rex, I grew up with Steve Walsh and Shane Matthews. I, too, appreciated Rex. He got ripped to shreds yet he wasn't really all that bad. His preseason game the other night, however, was hilarious. 5 snaps, 2 INT's, fumbled snap, and another fumble. Or something like that.
  4. That throw that Cutler threw 58 yards in the air on a rollout to his right which overthrew Hester was awesome.
  5. Stone said something like- "Pie is 1/4 in stolen bases. Not good. One of the many things he never learned in the minors".
  6. QUOTE (MurcieOne @ Aug 15, 2009 -> 02:36 AM) I still can't believe that Jay Cutler is a Chicago Bear... I mean really, think about it. I love it.
  7. QUOTE (chimpy2121 @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 10:09 PM) Lmao at Orton. 3 int hahahahaah ^^^^^^^
  8. QUOTE (CQMVP @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 11:59 PM) That's why he has a great swing I guess? You asked how he hits the ball so far.
  9. QUOTE (CQMVP @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 11:57 PM) How does a guy that skinny, hit the ball THAT far? Alexei has a great swing. He's wirey strong, similar to Soriano. He has great hips (that's what she said) and his wrists are so quick.
  10. QUOTE (fathom @ Aug 14, 2009 -> 10:50 PM) Nothing like having your marketing plan for a season be based on a series you lost. It doesn't help that Chuck Swirsky is the voice we hear. That guy is a clown and a total Toronto-homer.
  11. I can't wait to boo his a** when they come to Chicago on November 22nd on SNF.
  12. He's now 5 for his last 30. Give him a day off, yes?
  13. What do you guys think of trading for Nyjer Morgan if we're in need of a CF? I've always loved the guy. He plays pretty good defense from what I've seen, and he gets on-base a lot + his average is always hovering around .290-.305. Also, he'd likely cost us only a mid-level prospect.
  14. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 11:38 PM) Good point there, but it still makes little sense to me that this ENTIRE offense can slump like this time and time again, only going for homers. Walker has nothing to do with that at all? I don't buy that. And 2005 was just one year, really. As far as that last question, given some of my views on this organization's management, I would easily say, "no." Sad but true. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree on that, then.
  15. QUOTE (BFirebird @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 11:35 PM) Bout time a 9th inning rally! Let's take the series tomorrow and run out of Seattle. The King is on the mound, but I'm a firm believer a homer like that can get a team going. I'm guessing Buehrle gets back to his normal form tomorrow. 3-2 Sox.
  16. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 11:31 PM) First off, I never call Walker a great hitting coach because the Sox hit home runs. When you CONSTANTLY swing with the intention of driving the ball out and striking out like a madman, eventually you WILL hit something. I have never and will never call Walker a great hitting coach. Second, if what you're saying is true, I would think then that "pro" and these other "pros" wouldn't constantly make this offense look like a little league offense. Just my opinion. I have no problem with YOUR opinion, but your defense of Walker makes it sound like a hitting coach should never be at fault. Just a bad choice of words you used. If no one needs "Greg f***ing Walker" to tell them how to hit, why are there hitting coaches in the first place? Sorry, I just disagree with your perspective. But in 2005 using fundamentals, everything was fine. The fundamentals overshadowed the fact that the Sox were still belting out homers at a sickening pace. I don't think Walker went to work today and told Dye- "Hey Jermaine, to get out of your slump, try to hit it off Qwest Field". I'm not saying Walker is never at fault. But seriously, even if he was telling the veterans to hit homers (which he isn't) do you really think they're dumb enough to try and hit homers everytime they walk up? Come on. I'm sure some of them would say- "Kenny, fire this a**hole". Right?
  17. QUOTE (Kenny Hates Prospects @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 11:28 PM) Not talking about you two, but I've always wanted to see two Sox fans get into a legit fistfight over whether or not Greg Walker should be fired. It's certainly not worth all that. I used to hate Walker, but it's time for these guys to figure it out. Getz hit well, went into a huge slump, and is now back up to around .270. Beckham is at .300+. Quentin's BA is getting up there. Ramirez is at .275ish. Those are the 4 young guys and I'd say he's doing a damn good job with them, yes? Dye, Thome, Konerko, Podsednik, and AJ (who's hitting very well right now) should all be able to figure out what they're doing on their own.
  18. QUOTE (TheBigHurt @ Aug 11, 2009 -> 10:25 PM) Who are you to say Walker's doing his job properly? I'm not trying to make assumptions, but I have to at least question it with the approach these guys have had for years now. Either Walker's not doing his job or almost ALL his players just aren't listening to him. They hit homers in 2005, too. Walker is a great hitting coach when the Sox are hitting but he sucks when they aren't. It's getting old how much people hate the guy. Dye has been in pro baseball for what, 12-13 years now? I don't think he needs Greg f***ing Walker to tell him how to hit the thing.
