  1. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 09:29 PM) Mendenhall should be the starter soon, Willie Parker can't break a tackle to save his life. It seems like if anyone takes over that job, it'll be Moore. Mendenhall had about 2 carries last night and was only on the field for about 4 snaps. QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Sep 10, 2009 -> 11:54 PM) Looks like Troy is out for a few weeks after fat boy Alge landed on his knee. Cutler should have a big game passing next week, and I'm guessing neither team will rush for 50 yards. I love Polamalu and all, but I hope his injury puts him out for week 2.
  2. Hammerhead gets away with agreeing that he wanted to blow his brains out, and pretty much calling other posters dumbs***s for showing their opinion. God forbid...if I did such a thing, I'd be talking to you guys October 10.
  3. 1. Favre is back in the division. 2. All the hype surrounding GB now that he has to live up to. 3. He has to prove that he isn't a 1 year wonder (mixes with point 2).
  4. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 06:52 PM) It was also his first full year of starting. He deserves a little bit of slack. I could argue that the pressure will be even higher this year. I just don't get how people think a 4 win turn-around is going to happen.
  5. QUOTE (witesoxfan @ Sep 9, 2009 -> 05:51 PM) they lost something like 7 games by a touchdown or less. They were extremely unlucky to get the record they did, but they perhaps lucked out simply because they landed Raji. And the main reason was the almighty Aaron Rodgers. His QB rating was 13 points less in the 2nd half then in the 1st half. Also, his QB rating was below 70 in the last 2 minutes of halves. That isn't unlucky; it's just not being good in crunch time (in the clutch, if you will).
  6. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Sep 8, 2009 -> 04:41 PM) See 2008 Miami Dolphins Yeah, and WR's in their first year are awesome because Marques Colston was awesome in his first year. No. QUOTE (SoxFanForever @ Sep 8, 2009 -> 04:42 PM) Why is it going to be hard for them to convert to a 3-4? They have a solid DT in Raji as you stated, Capers has a history of 1 year conversions from 4-3 to 3-4 and they have a number of very solid LB's. If that is your line of thought then I suppose the same could be said for the Bears' O. They just upgraded QB with Cutler. That means they probably won't be good on O this year or next year. First off, I love BJ Raji. But he's only good at the initial point of attack. He does his job as a run stopping DT but he isn't very mobile at all. You do have a point on Capers, but maybe the other teams had the personel to make that switch easily. Now, Aaron Kampman isn't going to be able to stick his hand in the ground anymore as a DE, and he's going to have to drop in coverage. And no, that can't be said for the Bears. They didn't change schemes. This is Matt Forte's team still.
  7. People predicting GB to win 10+ games are going to be wrong, IMO. Winning 10-12 games after winning 6 the previous season is going to be extremely tough, especially since the whole defensive scheme is different. I understand Raji is a stud, but going from a 4-3 to a 3-4 and getting an immediate upgrade isn't going to happen. Next year? That isn't even certain, either.
  8. QUOTE (knightd1 @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 05:53 PM) Packers As a Bears fan, this hurts to say. I know it was just pre season but the cheese had an impressive O and if there defense can be average, I think they have a really good team. Hope I end up being wrong You know what's weird? Everyone is saying that the Bears WR's looked pretty good but it's just preseason. Then, those same people go and say that the Packers looked awesome in the preseason.
  9. QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 6, 2009 -> 10:09 AM) Perhaps N.D.'s schedule isn't so easy after all. I still think ND will be lucky to win 9 games. I'm guessing 8. Beating Washington, Michigan State, USC, Pittsburgh away, Stanford away, and BC isn't going to be a cake-walk.
  10. Washington played very well vs LSU. I wouldn't be surprised if Washington beats, or almost beats, Notre Dame.
  11. Think about what Hawk saying "No chance" when a guy steals a base on the Sox and AJ still makes a throw down.
  12. Among many, Rideau and Hood were released. Kevin Jones is out for the year. Who thought Kevin Jones of all people, such an iron man and all, would get hurt? /green x30
  13. This season was a huge disappointment. However, my 5 highlights are: 5. Winning 4/6 from the Cubs. 4. Winning our last game at the Metrodome. 3. Beckham = stud. 2. Seeing Beckham's first career HR live in Cincinnati. 1. Buehrle's PG.
  14. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Sep 2, 2009 -> 04:24 PM) The #2 player in the rivals rankings, WR Kyle Prater, picked USC over among others, Illinois today. It probably doesn't mean much more than USC is currently the leader since verbal commitments are irrelevant nowadays, but it's going to be hard to beat out USC for a football player which they are the stated leader for. The Illini already lost a highly rated in state receiving recruit to Tennessee, so this doesn't help. The Illini are pretty loaded at WR right now, which might actually be hurting them on the trail.
  15. QUOTE (knightni @ Sep 2, 2009 -> 05:21 PM) There may be few 35-31 score games this year. Yep, and it'll probably start week 1. QUOTE (zenryan @ Sep 2, 2009 -> 05:36 PM) My SB pick is San Diego vs Atlanta but I'm sure Norv will somehow screw it up. That's also my pick. San Diego gets Merriman back, they drafted Larry English out of NIU, rumor has it LT and Gates are 100%, and Vincent Jackson is playing for a new contract. Also, Atlanta lost Michael Boley and Harry Douglas, but they gained Tony Gonzalez. If they don't make it, my backup pick in the NFC is Philadelphia. However, I hope I'm wrong and it's the Bears.
  16. Good luck, but I hope you're never back in Chicago. If I had to watch you swing and miss and a slider low and away against a LHP one more time, I think I would've puked.
  17. Thanks for all your opinions. And I agree, watching JC last night was awesome.
