  1. QUOTE (knightni @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 03:46 PM) Yeah. .300 20HR 80RBI 20SB That ought to work. His stolen base technique is so bad, I'll be surprised if he gets to 10.
  2. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 02:41 PM) We're getting Liriano, Blackburn, and Baker Dating back to June 10, Liriano has thrown 32 innings and has given up 15 ER. Baker had a good month of June (3.2 ERA). Blackburn is obviously their best SP. It should be a good series.
  3. Porcello, Romero, Beckham, and Andrus will be the 4. I'm guessing Beckham is going to continue to rake, especially once he starts seeing some of these pitchers over and over. Porcello has the "1st place" thing going for him. Andrus has the offense + the defense going for him, though.
  4. QUOTE (beautox @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 02:37 PM) i agree with your whole post. You run him out there until he totally s***s the bed, hes got a great arm and the potential to be as good as danks if not better. He has to learn how to pace himself at the ML level and he needs to develop a cutter to keep RH off balance. We know if we put him in the pen we're looking at another Matt Thornton; which is phenonal, but let his talent and age ride out, nearly all rookie pitchers hit a wall give him time to make adjustments, if we're patient with him we might just have a hybrid between danks and MB on our hands and a very cheap solution to our rotation for a long time. Great arm? He throws 91-93 with a medicore change-up and an average slider. His ceiling is about 4 stories lower then Danks, if you get my drift.
  5. QUOTE (fathom @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 02:36 PM) Jermaine just destroyed that ball! That might be the longest homer I've seen a White Sock hit at Kauffman.
  6. We should sweep the Tribe. They are throwing Sowers, Laffey, and Huff, while we're throwing Buehrle, Contreras, and Richard/Carrasco. In Minnesota, we'll throw Danks, Floyd, and Buehrle, which means we should atleast win 2. Key word- SHOULD
  7. I hate this too, but in the end, Thornton, Dye, Pods, Jenks, etc all get some well-needed time off. If we don't like that fans vote, then next year, vote to get our guys in. Until then, who cares?
  8. I'd love Bosh. Is he worth the max deal? Probably not. But in 2010, a handful of guys are going to get that.
  9. Why not just have Richard go 2, Poreda go 2, and Carrasco go 2 (or 3) everytime Clayton pitches? Seriously, this s*** is getting too old.
  10. QUOTE (kev211 @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 04:47 AM) I think thats more or less of a obviously they know your hurt, they just want to know if its serious and if they should get help. If you're running full speed, trip on something, and fall face first on the cement, you're obviously hurt pretty badly.
  11. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Jul 5, 2009 -> 11:26 AM) Time for Bekham to bat 2nd? Not yet. Alexei is raking in the 2 hole. Next year, I could see Beckham in the 2 hole while Alexei is in the 6 or 7 spot.' Nice avatar, BTW.
  12. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 09:50 PM) Ahem whitesoxbrian is the type a guy who would try to bait shipps into giving a description off said whitesoxbrian because shipps always trys to prove himself. In description whitesoxbrian hopes shipps will say something against the rules here which he wouldnt because shipps doesnt notice him as much because others are busy argueing with him most of the time. Therefore whitesoxbrian is a Gemini and he likes collecting football cards even though they have no value to anyone other than his little brother that he trys to pawn them off on. Actually, you're almost there. I collect autographs and stuff, so you were almost spot on.
  13. QUOTE (SHIPPS @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 08:03 PM) Its funny because Brian is like a couple short of a million posts and I still dont have a read on him. I can give a pretty lengthy description of alot of dudes personalities on here but I wouldnt know sentence number one for Brian. Try me, tough guy.
  14. When you clearly are hurt, like you fall off a bike or fall on concrete face first, and the person goes- ARE YOU OK MAN?!!? Yeah, I'm great. Thanks.
  15. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 01:33 PM) Rich Harden is trash. I get so sick of hearing about his k's. He's not a good pitcher. I remember last year Dan Plesac said- Rich will eat up innings for this team. Do your homework next time, Dan.
  16. It'd likely take Hudson, Richard, and Poreda for Haren. His ERA is 2.75 and his WHIP is 0.81.
  17. Why am I not able to get a new avatar don't matter what picture I put in?
  18. You obviously have to do something, but Wise has some pretty good speed and he's hitting .290 since June 19. Then again, if you send Anderson down, you lose late inning defense. Whatever happens, I trust KW.
  19. QUOTE (JDsDirtySox @ Jul 4, 2009 -> 02:43 PM) everyone is going to be looking for starters... thats why teams are trying to get something done before the all star break. shockingly... the most attractive name out there for other teams is Javy. I know for a fact that he is available but the price is going to be high IMO... and teams don't seemed to be scared to pay it. anyways... names I would like to see the Sox rumored with... Danny Haren Roy Halladay Josh Johnson Eric Bedard names that I won't be surprised to see, but I will be less excited about... Jonathan Sanchez Aaron Harang Bronson Arroyo Ian Snell Gil Meche John Lannan my prediction: Sox trade for Jon Garland if they can't get a big name Starter. Josh Johnson has a 2.78 ERA, a 1.13 WHIP, and he's 25 years old. There is no way he's going anywhere. Harang wouldn't be too bad. His ERA is a respectable 3.86. Haren would be f***ing outstanding, but he'd likely cost a lot. Meche won't be traded inside the division. Lannan would be coming from easy going DC to a division title race in Chicago. I'll pass.
  20. Supposedly, that 3 team deal with us, the Leafs, and the Sharks all hinges on if San Jose signs Gustavsson. If they do, I guess we'd get Nabokov and Huet would go to Toronto. That was a post on the Hawks message board, but it certainly makes sense. Gustavsson is ready to play right away, and Nabokov's contract is up after this year (he'll make 6m this year).
  21. Man-Ram goes yard. QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 2, 2009 -> 03:17 PM) What kind of question is that? Of course... That's funny, because like I said, last year that question came up and everyone was saying how good TCQ was going to be and how Lincecum's arm was going to fall off.
