  1. QUOTE (chisoxfan09 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 11:00 AM) Wow with Vitters and Cashman it looks like the Flubbies are finally doing something right with the farm. Doh!! Vitters is still in high-A ball. That isn't too impressive.
  2. This is simply awesome. I can't believe it. Someone on the Hawks board said he heard on the Danny Mac show on 670 that Havlat signed and 8 year deal worth 8 per year with LA. I haven't seen that though. Way to go, DT. Now do the right thing, and trade Huet and sign Khabby.
  3. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 1, 2009 -> 10:41 AM) Beckham is the best talent we've seen come up through our system since the Big Hurt. He very well could wind up the best of his draft class... it's certainly starting out that way. Kinda ironic, the one time the Sox take the guy I wanted them to take! T Beckham (Rays), Posey (Giants), Alvarez (Pirates), Smoak (Rangers), Cashner (Cubs), and our Beckham certainly have the talent to make this one, of not the, best class ever. Gammons said the other night that Smoak, despite how good Beckham has been for us, has the potential to be the best player of this class, like a Chipper Jones type, especially playing in that stadium. Cashner was moved up to AA yesterday after he posted a 1.6 (I might be off on 1.6) ERA in 12 starts for the Cubs single-A affiliate.
  4. On a 1-10 scale with 10 being very good/Brian Anderson-esque, how would you rate Danks' defense?
  5. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 09:15 PM) I thought so too, but he's 29 years old. Well, their best hitting prospect is Buster Posey, and he's untouchable. Therefore, I'd settle with Sanchez and Tim Alderson. He's one of their better pitching prospects and he's only 21.
  6. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 09:12 PM) Sanchez and Lewis please. That. I love Lewis. He has so much potential.
  7. I didn't see this anywhere so... Tribune
  8. QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 07:51 PM) How bad was it? It was a curveball but it hit him pretty good.
  9. I believe Slayer's avg. is now hovering around .239 with a .328 OBP. Those numbers might be a bit off.
  10. After that HBP that Ramirez suffered, they might put Beckham in the 2 hole for a few days and put Nix in the 8 spot at SS.
  11. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 28, 2009 -> 02:33 PM) I'd still go with the Dodgers. With a healthy Manny they really don't have a legitimate weakness. I also expect the Phillies to make a move for starting pitching. They've got a pretty loaded farm. So I see something happening with them soon. They play in a division with 1 good team, 1 medicore team, and 2 horrible teams. I'll take my chances with a Holliday-ful Cardinals.
  12. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 07:53 PM) Gameday sucks. What happened? Swinging bunt right on the chalk in between home and 1st. The umps originally called it foul but they reversed it. On to the top of the 8th...
  13. They got that call right. It seems like the umps never reverse a call in favor of the Sox.
  14. QUOTE (Cali @ Jun 29, 2009 -> 06:38 PM) I really don't get the man-love for the 2009 version of CQ, like he's gonna save this offense. '09 CQ fits right in with the 0'9 Sox offense. Extremely average to borderline mediocre.... When he got hurt, yes. Now, who knows.
  15. I've noticed that we don't have the All-Sox thread thing anymore so I decided to post it here. I figured I had to since we're all so concerned with our best minor league prospect since Thomas and with his walk-up music. Move it if you need to.
  16. Do it Gav. Carl Pavano sucks. We really need to hit him around today, unlike last time.
  17. I think that Bolland 5 yr/18m extension is still on the table. I haven't seen anything that says it's been signed. Bouwmeester went to Calgary for Leopold and a 3rd round pick. Now they just have to sign him.
  18. Slayer went 4-10 with a walk, a sac bunt, 2 runs, and a walk-off RBI in the series. Way to go, team.
  19. If the Cardinals get Holliday and Carpenter stays healthy, they immediately become the favorites in the NL...maybe in baseball...to win it all.
  20. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 28, 2009 -> 10:55 AM) It'll be funny if Pods is one of our all stars this year. Jenks, Buehrle, and maybe Dye. Long shots- AJ and Pods.
