  1. QUOTE (WilliamTell @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 02:44 PM) I have a bad feeling about this Reed Johnson at bat. Good call. Ugh.
  2. QUOTE (yoyozuna @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 02:42 PM) How many on? How many outs? Thornton should have came in, whether it was to start the inning, to face Lee, or to face Soto. QUOTE (BigSqwert @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 02:42 PM) In case you haven't noticed, Jenks has not been his sharpest in non-save situations. I read it wrong. My bad.
  3. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 02:40 PM) Anyone predicting that Jenks gives up the walk-off if it's a tie game? I hope they use Thornton in the bottom of the 9th if it's tied over Bobby...maybe even Dotel, but definitely not Jenks in a tie game. What? No. You bring your closer in. Period.
  4. Ozzie's biggest issue, or to me it is anyway, is that he always leaves a guy in for too long. It happens with Buehrle the most out of the starters it seems like, and Linebrink the most out of the bullpen.
  5. But Ozzie is such a good manager. He put the butcherboy on for Danks yesterday and then he put the squeeze on for Pods, remember?!!?
  6. QUOTE (fathom @ Jun 18, 2009 -> 03:34 PM) Were the homers cheap or crushed? Oh, and it's a good thing we completely wasted Thome in the 8th. Ozzie's addiction to R/R and L/L match-ups is killing us today. Lee's went into the basket in RF, but the wind was blowing in from right, so it had to be crushed. Soto's was a good 7 rows up in left-center.
  7. Anybody know if Cold Springs, Kentucky is a good neighborhood? My brother collects postcards and keychains and I'd like to head to a Meijers in Kentucky to get some, and I found one in Cold Springs. Any help is appreciated.
  8. I hate to knit-pick, but is Beckham ever going to make a diving stop and cleanly throw someone out? His game today defensively left a lot to be desired.
  9. Welcome to the site, HM! You're a damn good poster. Anyways, I think the Twins will win this thing. Just a hunch.
  10. QUOTE (YASNY @ Jun 17, 2009 -> 12:08 PM) I'm considering going to Cinci for the Saturday and Sunday games this weekend. Anybody have any recommendations as far as a good, reasonable hotel that's located near that ballpark? Any other type of advice would we be welcome as well ... bars, restaurants, etc. I'm staying at a Sheraton in Cincy. It's like 13 miles from the GAB. All I know is there are plenty of Waffle House's around there, so I'm all set.
  11. I can't wait for The Final Destination in 3D in August.
  12. A guy with tons of speed who can hit it the other way? He doesn't fit in with us. /green---sort of
  13. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 04:30 PM) Yeah it worked out pretty well but think about having 2 50 goal scorers instead of just one.... I dont know about you but 2 is better than 1. Hell just imagine what the PP would be like with both of them...are you saying you wouldn't want the two of them? No, I'm just saying that having both guys means we'd probably have to let Kane, Keith, or Toews walk next summer.
  14. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 09:23 PM) I'd ship him Hester in a heart beat. Hester is a kick returner who thinks he is a WR Devin Hester is a stud WR in the making. He's ahead of Steve Smith in receptions and TD's at this point in his career, and only about 100 yards behind him.
  15. QUOTE (EvilJester99 @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 09:31 AM) I would love to get Heatley but the Hawks would have to keep Havlat as well. They need both goal scorers to be successful IMO. Why do they need both? Are you saying that if they had both it'd put them over the top? Because they had 1 of the 2 this past year and it worked out pretty well.
  16. AJ said in the papers today that that's one of the first times he's ever swung at a 3-0 pitch.
  17. QUOTE (klaus kinski @ Jun 15, 2009 -> 08:12 AM) They wont take Campbell's salary-and I see Cam Barker, though I dont like it, being the centerpiece of a trade package Campbell's cap hit and Heatley's cap hit are identical. Campbell and somebody like Skille to Ottawa might get it done. If I were the Sens, I'd rather have Barker over Campbell due to upside. That might take a sign and trade with Barker (since he's a FA) and maybe Bolland or Versteeg (they're both RFA's).
  18. http://www.canada.com/National+Hockey+Leag...3473/story.html I'd love this. We could let Havlat walk, and get a two time 50 goal scorer. Sure, his attitude sucks, but he's played nearly every game for the past 4 or 5 years. His attitude might change if he's playing for a team where other guys besides him and 1 other guy (Spezza) score.
  19. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jun 14, 2009 -> 04:00 PM) flubs rally against the twins Nobody gives a f*** about the Cubs. Seriously.
  20. Didn't Hossa have 10yr/100m deals on the table from Edmonton and Boston this past summer? I'm guessing he'll see those again, and take one.
