GDT 5/13 Sox (23-12) vs. Yanks (14-19) at 6:05 CT
QUOTE (MDWhiteSoxFan @ May 13, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) Did Hawk just make fun of Avi's looks? Also he looked like vintage Avi that AB. First pitch swinging I think he was talking about self confidence as a hitter, not his looks.

I thought that ball was gone off the bat. Avila with some really good ABs tonight.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 13, 2016 -> 07:26 PM) He is out for the entire season. Doesn't mean you can't sign him.

QUOTE (soxfan2014 @ May 13, 2016 -> 07:22 PM) Hawk mentions TWTW. Me: rolls eyes. Oh no, not again. Plesac's been really good to have on the broadcast though.

QUOTE (Joshua Strong @ May 13, 2016 -> 07:22 PM) Even better, I hope they sign him because it could be a great bargain buy I'm surprised the Royals didn't even try to sign him. Or any other team for that matter.

Attaboy Chris. Quick inning after going up 6. Just what the doctor ordered.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 13, 2016 -> 07:16 PM) In the last 30 days only Boston has scored more runs in the AL. We're 3rd in runs scored in the AL now. Pretty crazy.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ May 13, 2016 -> 07:12 PM) We should pull a Noesi/Ranaudo for Severino Yankees aren't trading one of their best prospects, no matter how bad he looked tonight.

QUOTE (chitownsportsfan @ May 13, 2016 -> 07:11 PM) Go look the Box Score. Not a single OBP below .300 and many above .340. Cannot remember the last time I saw that on a White Sox boxscore, early mid May or otherwise. It's pretty clear the Sox offense was on a cold spell early in the year. Now they're hot. Hopefully it stays that way. It helps that we've faced some bad pitchers recently.

I know Sale's on the mound and all, but after that Texas series, no lead feels safe.

Jimmy needs to stop with his little leg lift in his pre-load. It's making him late on fastballs in the zone. I know he had issues rolling over early in the season, but there's some guys you shouldn't wait on against. Severino's one of them.

Hicks really misplayed that one.

Austin with another good PA. 2 walks now.

QUOTE (He Gawn @ May 13, 2016 -> 07:02 PM) It's time to stop worrying about Avila's bat. He probably won't hit higher than .250, but he's got great discipline. He'll get on at a .330-.340 clip.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 13, 2016 -> 06:53 PM) I wouldn't call that last hit solid contact. The Gardner one? Yeah not that one, but Headley's HR, Teixeira's fly out, and the leadoff single were all squared up.

Chris is getting hit around a little bit right now. Lots of solid contact so far.

Headley couldn't get an XBH in his first 91 at bats and now has 2 in 2 games. Weird how that works.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ May 13, 2016 -> 06:48 PM) Melky rarely strikes out. He has more walks than strikeouts. He's being used to split the righties in the middle of the lineup (which I don't really care for). I think he definitely first best as the #2 hitter. Good contact, good OBP. Lawrie looks good enough to hit 5th right now.

I felt like we should have gotten more than 3 there, but any crooked number is a good crooked number.

QUOTE (Scoots @ May 13, 2016 -> 06:44 PM) They don't really have a true number 2 hitter. Rollins is the best they have...maybe saladino? You want good contact out of the 2 spot, Sox don't exactly have a ton of those guys. I'd say Lawrie or AJax can both work better. Lawrie Ks a bit too much for my liking in that spot, but he's been hitting pretty damn well so far. I'm much more confident in his ability to hit a fastball right down the pipe than Rollins.
