  1. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ May 15, 2016 -> 02:50 PM) You people harping on Duke lol. The dude made a bad pitch, it happens, a 1-run cushion in baseball isn't jack squat. More like 2 bad pitches. I didn't really like the idea of bringing him in to begin with. Jennings is much more effective vs. right handed hitters.
  2. Jennings was doing fine. God damn it Duke.
  3. Had we challenged that, he would have been safe. :|
  4. QUOTE (caulfield12 @ May 14, 2016 -> 10:15 PM) I blame this loss on God Loves the Infantry starting the game thread too quickly. Actually, Gonzalez has pretty decent numbers against most of the current Yankees career-wise, but Tanaka's not an easy pitcher to beat, even with his stuff not quite what it was when he first joined NY. That said, I'm sure the betting line is hugely in favor of them. OK there Stevie Johnson
  5. Q gets the tough luck loss again. And Eaton finally misplayed a ball.
  6. QUOTE (SoxAce @ May 14, 2016 -> 02:27 PM) Even though he struck out, that was a great at bat by Frazier. For real. The fact he was able to even touch some of those fastballs was impressive. You can't blame teams for not scoring off the back 3 of this Yankees pen. Sox problem today was not scoring off a hittable Nova.
  7. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 13, 2016 -> 09:00 PM) Kershaw is still king. Quintana's gonna have to deal tomorrow to retain his title of top AL pitcher in terms of fWAR. Yeah I'd say Kershaw is still better.
  8. Good teams bounce back like this. Sale saved a much overworked bullpen. Hopefully Q can do the same tomorrow.
  9. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 13, 2016 -> 08:48 PM) 1968. Year of the pitcher dang right. Under 3.5 runs per game. We haven't been too far away from that the past few years.
  10. Minny beating Cleveland by 1 right now in the 8th.
  11. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 13, 2016 -> 08:41 PM) When was that? 1968.
  12. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 13, 2016 -> 08:38 PM) In MLB history??? Since they've lowered the mound.
  13. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 13, 2016 -> 08:36 PM) He was still pumping out 97-98 early in the game. Eh. Some guys can still throw hard while hurt. He might just be extremely wild. Which was the case with Severino.
  14. QUOTE (TitoMB @ May 13, 2016 -> 08:33 PM) Just give him the Cy Young now. What's the point in waiting? 8-0. f***ing insane. Hawk mentioned that if he closes this one out and doesn't give up a few more runs, he'd be one of 3 to start the year 8-0 and have an ERA under 2.
  15. 2 hours later, we're in the 7th inning. I didn't think Yankees game lasted under 3 hours.
  16. Sale's evolution this year reminds me a lot of what Sabathia did to become such a dominant pitcher in 2007. Sabathia used to throw nothing but 94-97 MPH fastballs when he first came up. He was good, but not great. Then he started changing speeds on his fastballs. He'd have different variations, a lot like Chris right now.
  17. QUOTE (Scoots @ May 13, 2016 -> 07:53 PM) Yeah I heard that. How do you not know how good Rollins was? Especially as a 70 year old commentator... He said he doesn't follow the NL. But come on, if you follow baseball you know how good Jimmy Rollins was. He was the NL MVP in 2007.
  18. Hawk had to Google Jimmy Rollins to figure out how good he was.
  19. QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ May 13, 2016 -> 07:45 PM) I love Sales new approach to more contact less Ks. I love the efficiency. My only fear is that one of these days, one team is gonna get lucky and get hits off him on those balls in play. But then again, I think Chris can turn it on whenever he wants and throw 96-97 to get the Ks.
  20. Another quick inning for Chris.
  21. QUOTE (Quinarvy @ May 13, 2016 -> 03:52 PM) I got Bulls at 2nd on my 2nd try. Got 14th every time for 10 rolls.
  22. QUOTE (MDWhiteSoxFan @ May 13, 2016 -> 07:38 PM) Did Hawk just make fun of Avi's looks? Also he looked like vintage Avi that AB. First pitch swinging I think he was talking about self confidence as a hitter, not his looks.
