The Ghost of Jim Thome is Killing Us
Oh how quickly people forget about game 163 when they're still riding the coat tails of 2005.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 25, 2011 -> 09:41 PM) That's just this series. Wade is still great. I wouldn't read too much into 4 games. His style of play just doesn't seem to be sustainable as he reaches his 30s. The same thing is gonna happen to Rose.

QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 25, 2011 -> 06:10 PM) Yes, we have Rose. But the Heat have two better players than Rose who are in their primes. That's kind of a big deal. Wade might be coming out of his prime. He's looked terribly old this series.

Feliz is clearly not healthy. He has absolutely zero control and is walking just about everyone.

Feliz is walking 7.2 per nine innings. TAKE SOME DAMN PITCHES!

QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ May 25, 2011 -> 03:33 PM) kind of funny that oz is changing pitchers when he blew his chance to manage in the top of this inning. He's trying to make up for it. Fortunately for him, it sort of worked.

Sox at Texas series finale May 25 Game Thread
QUOTE (Harry Chappas @ May 25, 2011 -> 03:31 PM) That was the worst piece of managing since the hit-and-run with Dunn at home a couple of games back. Dunn is not a situational small ball hitter yet the Ozeroo thinks he is. Managers are suppossd to put their players in the best poistion to succeed Guillne seems to get hem into the best position to fail McPherson than Vizquel is the right situation there as now McPherson is in the game anyway and Vizquel is the only bat on the bench. Tony Pena...seriously Guillen really does not care about this game. In a situation that would have wasted Dunn anyways, bringing in Vizquel in that situation is a no-brainer.

God damn, Tony Pena again? Ozzie's trying to lose this game.

The only thing Dunn can do against lefties is draw a walk. That's it. He has no chance to make any kind of meaningful contact against them. It's like Mark Kotsay is in Dunn's body.

Wake up, wake up, Sox win!!!
QUOTE (Milkman delivers @ May 25, 2011 -> 10:38 AM) I did not stay up to watch this game, but Tony Peña needs to be designated for assignment. He brings nothing to this team, he subtracts. We have a long road ahead of us and we can't afford to let this guy cost us any games. The only things keeping him around is his ability to throw hard and Kenny Williams' pride. We should have DFA'd him instead of Gray. We might still have D.J. Carrasco if it wasn't for Pena.

Pena's gone! Unfortunately, we gotta deal with Sale.

I'm drooling after looking at Arron Affalo's Basketball-Reference page. He's exactly what this Bulls team needs. Too bad he's an RFA.

QUOTE (JoeCoolMan24 @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:30 PM) That's what someone else said. What am I forgetting about Tomko/AJ? Were they the Giants teammates that fought? I don't think they fought, but Tomko didn't like how A.J. would play cards instead of working with him on pitching or something.

3 more outs to get and this game will be official.

QUOTE (lostfan @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:17 PM) I have never seen it work, not once. I'm not even sure what it's supposed to do. Watson is capable of creating his own shot. So he could free up Rose a bit, but the defense is so bad when that combo is out there that it neglects anything Watson can create on offense.

QUOTE (lostfan @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:13 PM) The Bulls managed to build a lead in the 3rd, then Thibs used that f***ing Rose-Watson backcourt and the lead evaporated in second. God I hate that lineup so much. Watson is an abortion on defense. It usually never works. Simply because Watson can't guard a SG, he's just too short. Miller got hot because he had a midget guarding him to start the 4th basically.

2010-2011 NBA Thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ May 24, 2011 -> 11:03 PM) Well said. And I hoped we could overcome that. But whatever. I think we still have a bright future. Conference finals after how many years? But Luol Deng can't be our second best player and expect to win a title. I said coming into the playoffs that if the Bulls got to the ECF, I would be satisfied. That's the best case scenario I saw with the team before the season. But with how well the Bulls played in game 1 and how much I hate those three ass holes in South Beach, I guess I got tricked into thinking the Bulls had a really legit chance at winning this series. I guess not.
