3/22 Spring training game vs MIL
Come on Jack, we all know that consistently getting hits on little dribblers amounts to a lot of luck. It's not a skill.

Because he throws a heavy sinker? Maybe if we shifted correctly or our fielders didn't butcher balls they should definitely have, it wouldn't be a problem. Outside of not having control sometimes, Bummer is doing everything you want from a pitcher. He strikes guys out, he gets ground balls, and he induces weak contact. I've never seen people complain about a pitcher giving up too much weak contact. That's new.

Adjust to what? Hitting weak grounders to places where fielders aren't? If teams can do that whenever they want, shifts wouldn't be a thing.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
This makes the manager's job a lot easier.

I see Bummer is already having shit luck and bad defense being played behind him.

Wait, they took Keuchel out and he's back in now?

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
The problem is that Kimbrel will most likely go to a contender, but no contender is gonna give Adolfo a roster spot to have him figure out ML pitching. He needs more time in AAA.

Kyle Crick stuff
If he can have a good spring, he can possibly take over Burr's spot in the bullpen. He certainly has the stuff to do it.

Pollock probably hurt.

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Let's assume that Kimbrel has 0 surplus value. Pollock is owed at least $15 million guaranteed for this next year (cause you're gonna at least have to buy him out of the option next year for $5 million). He's projected to be a ~2 WAR player. That has a value of $16 million at $8 million/WAR. That'd put Pollock as a $1 million surplus player. From a surplus value standpoint, I don't think the 2 are that far apart. I just don't know why the Dodgers would trade away their starting LFer.

Roster Resource has Taylor playing 2B with Muncy DHing. I think they'll rotate the DH spot quite a bit. You can argue that they'd maybe platoon at 2B with Lux/Taylor and have Taylor also play LF.

Yeah I don't see why they'd trade Pollock. It's not like they have a ton of OF depth to begin with.

Pollock had reverse splits last year and he's more or less been split neutral in his career.

Huge win today. They really needed this. 2.5 games up on the play-in now and they win the tie-breaker against Toronto. There's only 11 games left for us and 10 games left for Toronto. Bulls are 4.5 up on the Nets in case they get hot. I think if they go around .500 the rest of the way, they should be able to avoid the play-in.

Billy really took his sweet ass time taking the starters out when they were up 20. With a back to back tomorrow, you gotta take them out when the opposition decides the game is over.

The QO expires in June right?

Offseason Part 3 - Because Part 2 Was a Dud
Yeah, in order for the Padres to screw us again, someone else has to be stupid enough to take on that Hosmer contract. Which I read is actually worse under the new CBA because when a player is traded, their CBT value gets re-calculated from the day they are traded, not the entirety of the contract. If a contract is back-loaded, the CBT hit is much higher if they get traded.

Let's hope he gives the team a boost cause they're only 1.5 games away from being a play-in team.

No shot. There's no way we're willing to give a guy like Bauer all that money but not willing to sign Conforto.

I hope Balta was talking about Kimbrel and not Hendriks.

Seems like the concussion knocked whatever basketball IQ he had right out of him. Grandison basically not playing after his shoulder injury hurt this team a lot. Cause he could at least shoot, unlike Williams.

I'm surprised the game was so close for so long when we had absolutely no concrete plan on offense and couldn't rebound for shit.
