I think his success will all depend on if he can make contact regularly in the majors. He's got crazy pop and is pretty fast. Defense needs work, but he's got the range with that speed of his. I'd trust the Rays on this type of stuff, but we still don't know if they actually got him in the deal.

I'm not sure what the Rays are doing if the main pieces they get back are O'Neill and Martinez. O'Neill's a decent ML-ready prospect and Martinez is a mediocre DH. I don't know how those 2 warrant a 20 year old top 50 pitching prospect. There's gotta be more to it.

I realize that. The metric pretty much only measures range for outfielders since I don't think they take throwing into account (I could be wrong on that). But from what I've read so far it's most likely more accurate than the range portion of UZR and DRS.

Cishek got overused by Maddon last year and was brutal before he finally got put on the DL for a hip injury. He came back and did a bit better in September but struggled with control. Hopefully he's closer to his 2019 first half production with us. Our bullpen depth should allow Ricky to use him less. Here's to hoping Marshall keeps outpitching his peripherals and Herrera doesn't completely suck.

Kimbrel is going to continue declining. He's a 2 pitch pitcher whose fastball got absolutely clobbered last year despite only losing 1 MPH on it. It could be that last year was an anamoly and that he can bounce back. But he got barreled up 20% of the time and gave up 92 MPH EV. He deserved to get crushed last year, it wasn't bad luck. Most of the damage came on fastballs, which is even more concerning. If he continues to lose more velocity it'll be hard for him to live up to that contract of his. Even if he corrects whatever he was doing wrong last year.

I didn't look at the DRS numbers till now, but holy crap. UZR wasn't as mean to him.

The Rangers might actually want him to play 3B full-time as opposed to OF. I'm not sure if you're better off hiding him in a corner OF spot or 3B.
