  1. I had no issues with Crochet going in the 8th, my issue was using him in the 9th.
  2. I have nothing against Crochet, but he's no Liam Hendriks. I also hated the matchups for Crochet against the hitters the Tigers had coming up. Schoop hits lefties better than righties, especially after the damage he did tonight off Keuchel. Candelario has a 183 wRC+ off lefties this year. Haase has a 173 wRC+ off lefties this year, as he's basically only hit them until his HR off Marshall tonight. Cabrera also isn't as useless against lefties as he is against righties. Tony knows what platoons splits are. He should have seen those and said there's no way in hell I'm throwing a lefty reliever against those guys if I have one of the best relievers in baseball in my bullpen.
  3. Grandal has a higher wRC+ than everyone except Yoan right now. And Yoan's batting average doubles his right now. It's actually pretty funny. Moncada is already one of the league leaders in walk rate and Grandal somehow has a similar OBP despite hitting .150.
  4. It took a great catch from Hamilton for Crochet to not give up the lead. I didn't understand Tony's line of thinking at all for that move. If you had Hendriks warming, why not give him a clean inning and then get your middle of the order up in the 9th? Are you saving him for the 10th, an inning that may never come? Why would you save him for a jam when he can get a clean inning and not be in a jam in the first place? Why risk a lesser reliever giving up base runners that gives your opponent a better opportunity to win?
  5. Can you imagine this bullpen without Hendriks? Even if we brought Colome back, seeing how he's done in Minnesota isn't exactly encouraging.
  6. I had no problem with pulling Keuchel. You just expect the bullpen to be better with a 5 run lead. Safe to say Heuer and Marshall just got moved down the pecking order tonight.
  7. 4 games up on Cleveland. Today's game was the game I thought we would lose given the pitching matchup. We almost did lose, but I think the comeback is better for this team despite our bullpen getting hammered.
  8. Snatching victory from the jaws of defeat after snatching defeat out of the jaws of victory in the 7th.
  9. TLR made that way more complicated than it should have been. He was saving Hendriks for a jam or the 10th. Dude you're at home. Get 3 outs and hope your offense gets the job done in the 9th.
  10. He kills lefties. He could never really make contact in the minors but now it looks like he's getting better at that.
  11. TLR could have just used him to start a clean inning...
  12. Haase kills lefties. You don't want Crochet to face him.
  13. Did Hendriks hurt himself? He's not even throwing.
  14. It's fucking simple Tony, use your best reliever here.
  15. No Hendriks here is a bad idea...Tony is saving his closer at home?
  16. We're getting destroyed by Castro and Schoop.
  17. Grandal now has a higher OPS than Abreu and Yermin. He's hitting .154.
  18. Now we gotta pray Jose Ruiz can get 3 outs.
  19. lol and it works out somehow. This might be the weirdest game of the year so far.
  20. lmao when was the last time Billy Hamilton pinch hit for someone? This is wild.
