  1. CRAP! I have a 3 hour lab at 2:30 on Tuesday (I'm on the Eastern timezone), so now I'm gonna miss the game. And it sucks because I only have class til 1:30 on Mondays, so I was going to come home and watch it and be happy! but no, stupid weather
  2. QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Apr 1, 2009 -> 02:01 PM) I'd take Pods over Wise, no doubt in my mind. Seconded.
  3. ... which only means we can expect to see Owens out in CF for this ballclub sometime in June, when Wise bombs out.
  4. QUOTE (letsgoarow @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 10:46 PM) People wont believe me but... I met T.O. a while back and he was super friendly. I walked up to him and he shook my hand and we talked for a minute about the 49ers ( i had a shirt on, and this was when he was on them). Just super nice, and didnt seem annoyed. T.O. has to be nice to his fans.. they are the reason he IS T.O.
  5. QUOTE (GreenSox @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 10:05 PM) the real problem with Wise is horrible defense. Guillen clearly either has no clue or doesn't care about outfield defense (Mack, not putting in Anderson to protect Floyd's no hit bid, his love of Owens and Wise). Dye-Wise-Quentin....the worse in baseball, compliments of Ozzie. Yeah, which comes down to us needing to move Dye. I love the guy, he is an awesome hitter, but hes definitely slowing down on the field. Let him DH next year when Thome goes on, and put Quentin in RF.
  6. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 07:49 PM) This makes Darin Erstad look like a good move. Simply horrible. Maybe a miracle happens and Wise is useful. If not, I hope they figure it out quickly. That is very much not like the Ozzie Guillen I know. The guy is stubborn and will leave guys anywhere even if they don't want to play their themselves (Mackowiak). He also does the same thing with the bullpen. And how long did it take them to cut Widger? That guy couldn't play anymore. We'll see how it goes, but I have a feeling Wise will be given a good chunk of time before BA ever whiffs the starting job. I hope I'm wrong though.
  7. QUOTE (SoxFan1 @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 07:07 PM) Joe Cowley Thanks bro!
  8. What's his first name? I wanna follow him on Twitter.
  9. Off topic a bit, but what other athletes have you guys met that were nice? By far the nicest one I have ever met was Corey Bradford, a WR for the Green Bay Packers (and later the Texans I think). I went to the hotel where the Pack was staying in Chicago (I'm a diehard Cheesehead..) and we were standing in the lobby in the autograph section (my dad and I). We were maybe two out of five or so people there (I was the only kid) and he came over to me, signed my helmet, and then sat down at a table off to the side of the lobby with my dad and I and just talked to us for about an hour. It was awesome! He also let me wear his solid-gold, diamond studded "#85" necklace! It was definitely the best experience I've had with a professional athlete. I don't even know how the guy could afford the necklace though.. he wasn't a superstar. What about you guys?
  10. QUOTE (elrockinMT @ Mar 30, 2009 -> 06:50 PM) This could be the end of our season before it even gets underway I don't know if I would go THAT far, but it definitely would have hurt.
  11. Wow.. just wow. Not even giving BA a shot?! Again? Just f***ing cut his ass then.
  12. Wow, I'm a rare one. I picked Broadway. I don't have much to this, other than something in my gut says he will end up being the better one. And I got a chance to meet Richard when he came to the mall by my school, got to shake his hand and get his autograph. Hell of a nice guy, I really hope he does succeed cause he deserves to.
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 02:07 PM) once beckham's ready, why can't you just put the best SS out there? competition between the two. Because then one of them has to switch positions going right into the start of the season, whoever loses. I'd rather them make up their minds before ST, and go form there. Alexei moves back to second, and Beckham comes in at SS. Give him a year in the minors.
