  1. Both suck camel balls.
  2. All In!!! If it's canning OG, KW and Walker, count me in! If not, f*** this team.
  3. Thanx EJ! When he's on, he's downright nasty. Big supporter of Jax but I do admit we got hosed by Arizona and those posters saying Arizona won that trade were right all along.
  4. QUOTE (Greg Hibbard @ Jul 26, 2011 -> 11:06 AM) It should be, but many people hate this gm and/or manager so much that I wouldn't put it past them to want them to fail. I can't speak for anyone else but there is nothing I want to see more than the White Sox winning, even with KW or that moron at the helm.
  5. I love the White Sox, just not this version with that suck offense and horrible manager. I would love to eat crow but it ain't happenin'.
  6. So Amy Winehouse was like a small business that went under? What a stupid and insensitive comparision.
  7. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 03:27 PM) Yeah, one of these things is not like the other. Well, obviously she won't leave the same mark on music the others before her did, I'm not even a fan of her music, I was more taken by the fact she died of drugs like those others before her at the exact same age. Brian Jones was also 27 I believe when he died.
  8. QUOTE (lord chas @ Jul 23, 2011 -> 01:34 PM) Joining the 27 club Yeah, that's really weird, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison, Kurt Cobain and now Winehouse...
  9. This is what makes this team so infuriating, they lose 2 of 3 to f***ing KC and they just might take 2 of 3 against the first place Indians... Free Viciedo!!!
  10. Paraguay hasn't even won a match yet and they're in the Final. Uruguay should make quick work out of them. Uruguay 2 Paraguay 1
  11. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 04:56 PM) I don't know what game you were watching, but Messi had a great game. He had the assist, almost had another that was correctly called back for offside, converted his penalty and drew about a dozen fouls. Fantastic game to watch though. Couldn't agree more, Messi was awesome...Uruguay just converted their PKs, Tevez must feel horrible right now. It's been a long time since the best time in South America isn't either Brasil or Argentina.IMO, Uruguay is the best team in Conmebol.
  12. lame This team just can't sweep
  13. QUOTE (The Ginger Kid @ Jul 17, 2011 -> 11:02 AM) Am I the only one who wants to keep EJAX? Yesterdays start aside, the guy has nasty stuff. Sure he sucks sometimes, so does everyone on the staff. The sox lack a true ace. This
  14. Who was the kitten's starting pitcher tonight?
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 14, 2011 -> 04:23 PM) Those are high school kids. And just because they are German, doesnt make them any more experienced than a National Women's team. We'll just agree to disagree on this because it really isn't that important. One last point, most of the players in the u17 National Teams are already tied up to a club in their respective countries, they are the best prospects those countries have to offer and many of them will end up in world class clubs, they aren't just high school kids playing weekends. Thus my belief they will beat any team in the women's WC.
  16. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 14, 2011 -> 01:40 PM) LOL, bring up a totally unrelated sport like bball shows how little you understand the argument. Have you ever actually stepped on the field with national-team caliber women? I am beginning to think you dont really understand the sport that much. The strongest and fastest teams in the world do not always win the game or a tournament. World class women will never beat world class men, but they will put a hurting on high school players routinely. I didn't say high school kids could beat a women's National team, I said that those u17 national teams could beat these women's WC team.I'll bet you anything the German u17 team could beat the USA women's team.
  17. QUOTE (Soxbadger @ Jul 14, 2011 -> 01:52 PM) Ill tell you one thing that cant be debated, Alex Morgan is easier on the eyes than any boys on the U-17 or U-19 squad. And I think there is a little bit of self interest in this thread, in Men's soccer Mexico is a power, in Women's soccer not so much. Conversely the US is one of the best Women's teams and the Men's team still has a long way to go. Regardless women's soccer is one of the few female sports I can tolerate. There's no self interest, I don't care about women's soccer because the quality isn't there IMO, it's sloppy and boring, again, in my opinion.I'm a fan of Mexico's National team because my parents are from there, I'm a fan of Spain because my mother's parents are from there and I like Argentina because my wife is Argentinian. If it was self interest I would have posted after Mexico pounded the USA in the Gold Cup final but I didn't. If I want to watch a hottie, I'll pop in a Mila Kunis movie.
  18. Tell me what woman's team could've stopped a 17 yr old Messi, vplease.Another example in another sport, you're gonna tell me that a WNBA player could've hung with a 17 yr old Kobe Bryant or LBJ?Yeah it's basketball, nkot soccer but my point is that at that age, men are already stronger and faster.
  19. QUOTE (danman31 @ Jul 14, 2011 -> 02:05 AM) That's false. The women actually train against u19 male sides all the time. The technical ability of u17s isn't refined enough to dominate national team level women. The level of play is probably similar, but drastically different in a lot of ways. I could train with Derrick Rose all the time, doesn't mean I could beat him.Sorry but women's soccer in general is brutal, quality wise.
  20. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jul 12, 2011 -> 05:12 PM) Now there was some entertaining soccer at the u17s. A lot better game than the women's world cup. Don't mean to sound like a sexist but those u17 teams would easily beat any team from the women's WC tournament.
  21. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Jul 13, 2011 -> 08:24 AM) I didn't watch this at all, and had no reason to do so. You didn't miss.much, f***ing boring game.
  22. Mexico won it's second men's 17 and under World Cup championship on Sunday, beating Uruguay 2-0, they got past France and Germany earlier in the tourney. Kids showing the adults how it's done.
  23. QUOTE (Whitewashed in '05 @ Jul 11, 2011 -> 10:54 PM) I missed the derby, but just went to see some highlights. The only reason I am posting in this thread is to ask how Berman has a job, let alone the derby. His "back back back" call is the worse signature I've ever heard from any commentator in any sport. Absolutely excruciating... Obviously you haven't heard of Ernesto Jerez, he calls baseball games for ESPN Deportes and his call goes like this... A lo profundo!!! No, no no no no nooooo digale que no a esa pelotaaaaa!!! It's like a combo of a gooooooooool call and a home run call...yes, it's worse than Berman's call as annoying as it is.
  24. This isn't baseball related, it happened at a soccer match I saw between Brazil and Mexico...I hate when the Brazilian girls who were dressed in skimpy bikinis started dancing Samba in front of me, I couldn't concentrate on the game with all those hot girls dancing in front of me...it sucked. Ok, it didn't suck, in fact, it was AWESOME!
  25. QUOTE (ROC Sox Fan @ Jul 10, 2011 -> 06:31 PM) The more things change the more things stay the same. So nothing will change, but in response we will be better or worse in the second half. Because if things changed they'd stay the same, you see. Hey Yogi, it's awesome that you post in ST!!
