As long as we're talking buzzer beaters,Derek Fisher's heave with less than a second,.04 to be exact that beat the Spurs was just insane. -

QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ May 23, 2009 -> 11:08 PM) Not very stupid considering it was Kobe Bryant who didn't want that trade to happen. He didn't want Deng in the deal, because he wanted to have players in Chicago to help him out. True,I remember reading reading somewhere that he wanted Deng to be Pippen to his Michael Jordan,I'm still not convinced the Bulls didn't try hard enough to get Bryant though. -

How stupid do the Bulls look not trading Gordon,Hinrich and Deng for Bryant a couple of years ago.I so wanted that trade because Kobe is still the best closer in the game,IMO. -

QUOTE (SoxFan101 @ May 23, 2009 -> 09:22 AM) Really?? Ive heard it mentioned about 1000 times.....It is a pretty dumb rule, one of the things college has over the pro sport. I disagree, this makes for awesome last second shots when you don't have to bring it full court with little time left... It all evens out, sometimes you benefit from it,sometimes it bites you...the rule didn't hit the fall away trey and I bet Van Gundy or anyone in the Magic organization won't complain about it -

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ May 22, 2009 -> 09:55 PM) I know this board will be one of the last to admit it, and I understand it well being a huge UNC fan. I vomit at the mention of Kobe being on the same level as Jordan, but Lebron is a different story for me. I just can't deny his talent and game changing ability. For each generation a player comes a long and changes the game in a way that the previous generations fans haven't seen before. Lebron is this generations game changer. For now, Lebron is just a great help defender, and not on the level of Michael's lockdown defender status, but Lebron is still only 24 as previously stated, he has a chance to get there. Is James the best player in the NBA today?Do we need to see a Kobe and James Finals to decide it?Or the fact that James won the MVP decided it...I still think Kobe has the edge because I think his overall offensive game is more complete and a better defender though James is a better ball distributor.I also put Wade in the debate but he is out of the playoffs so I'm focusing on these two. -

It bugs the hell out of me how some in ESPN practically call LBJ a future Knick...I hope we do go after James, but we have a better shot at Wade and I'm cool with that. -

QUOTE (Palehosefan @ May 22, 2009 -> 09:42 PM) I couldn't help but feel that this shot brought Lebron one step closer to MJ. If Lebron can improves his defense again, then it will be hard for me to seperate them. OK,let's not get carried away... -

I'm not one to easily compare a player to MJ but that buzzer beater considering the situation was downright Jordanesque...the camera angle from behind the basket reminded me of MJ's shot against Ehlo a bit. -

Peavy is a effing c*nt.I hope the Cubs light him up and then lose 14 in a row.
-
I'm so pissed at Peavy that I hope the Cubs put up 10 runs on him in the first 5 innings...then I hope the Cubs go on a 14 game losing streak.F Peavy

It's a done deal per Gammons and ESPN.Coop to the rescue!!Peavy to regain Cy Young form!

Nuggets gave away Game 1.Stupid foul and stupid inbound pass, the Lakers were ripe to get home court stolen, they look weak and I'm not buying that they'll win it all,If they do they'll be one of the weakest champions that I can remember...these Lakers would've gotten killed by Showtime Lakers, the Bad Boy Pistons,90's Bulls,Larry's Celtics or Duncan's Spurs. -

I hope the nuggets can pull it off but I doubt it,tough to beat the Lakers becuz they got home court...Cavs in 6,regular season means nothing, example>>Rockets got swept by the Lakers in the reg but pushed it to 7 in playoffs. -

Jordan vs. LeBron, who you got?
MexSoxFan#1 replied to Steve9347's topic in Alex’s Olde Tyme Sports Pub
I'm not hating on LJ because he's an amazing player and probably the best today but I'm willing to bet that those 9 people who picked LeBron over MJ were to young to see Jordan early in his career when he would have to score all night long to keep his team in the game,he was absolutly unstoppable and LJ as good as he is is nowhere near that level. Larry Legend said it best when he said Jordan was God with a basketball. You can't get any better accolades from one of the greatest players ever, not to mention the compliments Magic Johnson has heaved on Michael through the years.
