  1. Regardless if we get Cutler (almost zero chance) or not,Chicago is where QBs go to die,how can an organization be so inept at drafting and developing quaterbacks?Look at all the other teams in the time we last had a decent qb (McMahon) and you'll notice they all have had at least a couple of above avg passers to our zero (Kramer had a decent but injury plagued career with us)...it has to be more than bad luck imo,I dunno what it is but its frustrating as hell.
  2. Obviously Cutler would be a big upgrade at QB for us but I wouldn't trade Forte for him.
  3. I agree with everyone here that Schilling was a dick but if you needed one game to win,you can't name too many other pitchers in the last 20 years you'd rather have than Schilling...the guy was a fierce competitor and lights out come crunch time,HOFer for me.
  4. I know Swish was brutal last year but considering the other options we are left with,it was a mistake to get rid of him,I believe he would've had a good comeback year for us...he couldn't be worse than what he did last year...
  5. Japan is the Brazil of international baseball,damn...
  6. The Cubs can go 162-0 and have a run differential of 10+ runs a game and those idiots will find a way to choke in crunch time...
  7. I love it when my Cubs fans friends always end the debates about our teams with," Chicago has been and always will be Cub town, there are a lot more Cubs fans than White Sox fans"!And I tell them, that's cool,at least you'll have lots of company to drown out your sorrows after the Cubs do their annual choke job come playoff time Cubs baseball, sucking for 100 years and going!!
  8. I didn't know it was a prerequisite to be 100% for capitalism and against all other forms of economic systems to come here and play in the Major Leagues...
  9. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 23, 2009 -> 11:04 AM) You mean like when he called Obama a "poor ignoramus", over the weekend? OK,I didn't see that quote, but if he did call Obama a "poor ignoramus"(I imagine HC said pobre ignorante),by extension did he call us all poor ignoramuses? No,I like Obama but just like W,he is not the nation. If you disagree that means if you dislike HC and you critcize him,you dislike and criticize all Venezuelans. Can't have it both ways.
  10. QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Mar 16, 2009 -> 10:40 AM) It seems a little odd to me that a guy who fled his country to make tons of money would be in support of Hugo Chavez, but it gives me yet another reason to hate this guy. http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/articl...V3SvaAD96UKOL80 Maggs never "fled" Venezuela,I have Venezuelan friends and you are free to leave or enter Venezuela as you wish...Maggs was offered an opportunity to play baseball and make a nice living and like we all would have done,he took it.Good for him.
  11. Like Cubano wrote,a leader or government of a country doesnt make it the country itself, the people make the country, research HC speeches and you'll see that he states time after time that his beef was with W and his foreign policy (mostly our illegal invasion of Iraq),that he like the USA as a country, haven't you noticed that he hasnt been slamming Obama or the US lately? I took no offense when he criticized Bush since I didn't like him and it seems a majority of Americans didn't like W either. If Maggs wants to support HC,that's something that he should debate with fellow VENEZUELANS!How many of you guys like it when foreigners criticize us in our internal affairs?I'll take a wild guess and say not many.
  12. Thats why I am no longer a Catholic...
  13. QUOTE (Cubano @ Mar 15, 2009 -> 10:33 PM) I voted with my feet because I did not have a life back home. I could not stand the government telling me what to do, what to eat, what to say, where to work, etc. I do not blame the USA policies nor anybody but myself for my own problems. I do not demand anything from the USA like many others do all the time. If the USA had sent me back, that was the USA sole right. The problems in Cuba are our own making. Let me remind you that before 1959, not many Cubans left the island for the USA. On the contrary, there were many Americans going down there. Magglio should help the Venezuelan government. We can see more Venezuelans in the USA. As a matter of fact, the exodus have began. How many Venezuelans moved out before Chavez? I hope the USA expel Magglio when he decides to stay or come in the future. Wow,Cubano,I thought you were for freedom of speech,if you believe Maggs should be expelled for his political beliefs then you are no better than Chavez and his "repressive" regime.
  14. First of all, people should learn the difference between socialism and communism,it is NOT the same thing, many of our allies in Europe have socialist programs and so do we,what do you think Medi-Care and Social Security is? Second,if Maggs wants to support HC,that's his damn right...I'm not pro or anti HC since I'm not Venezuelan, that's for them to decide who should be their leader, the reactionary Right backed by the elite have tried to topple his goverment but the people still support him,he's won every referendum they've thrown at him and he's won em fair and square according to neutral groups like America's Watch.Maggs is in his right as a Venezuelan to either support or oppose Chavez and if you don't like it,tough, this is a free country.
  15. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Mar 13, 2009 -> 02:11 PM) point of this thread was? To rattle us,I was in full panic mode when I saw that thread and thinking, what the hell are we gonna do about 3B?
  16. wow, what a drubbing ,at least it was to Cuba but against Austrailia the other day was truly embarrassing.
  17. QUOTE (whitesoxbrian @ Mar 10, 2009 -> 09:35 PM) What a game. BTW- does anyone know why the NL's color is orange? Holland's flag is red, white, and blue. The orange color has to do with tulips,I believe it's the national flower of Holland, their national soccer team colors are orange jerseys, white shorts with blue socks and trim.
  18. My favorite quote,"I'll play for anybody,even Kansas City"...lol
  19. Tool and Radiohead are by far the best bands in what passes for rock music today...I'm not advocating drug use but you gotta get a little mind altering substances to really appreciate those bands, just like in the old days with Pink Floyd and the Doors...
  20. QUOTE (mr_genius @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 11:56 AM) the blame Rush Limbaugh for everything angle will fall apart. it's really a terrible strat. from an economy on the brink to Obama's major failures dealing with Russia it really appears that he is in over his head. Wow,talk about the honeymoon being over...President Obama isn't even half way to his first 100 days and already you've come to the conclusion that "he's in way over his head"...jeez,the GOP didn't get us into this mess overnight and Obama and the dems won't get us out overnight either.Fortunatly the American people realize the scope of our problems and are squarely behind the prez.
  21. QUOTE (Athomeboy_2000 @ Mar 4, 2009 -> 03:31 PM) He really does think he's the head of the GOP... he has the ability to demand a debate: Limbaugh Challenges Obama To A Debate The nerve on this a-hole to think the president is gonna debate this drug addicted radio pimp, like Obama doesn't have anything else better to do...just send Thom Hartman or Paul Kruggman to school this fat boy on how Reagan's voodoo economics started the shrinking of America's middle class which has brought us to this point where the disparity between the richest 2% of our country to the rest of society is the widest since the great depression.
  22. QUOTE (whitesoxfan101 @ Mar 3, 2009 -> 02:50 PM) As much as people like Rush Limbaugh HATE to admit it, the GOP cannot sustain any sort of relelvant power without gaining moderate votes. And as long as the GOP caters to Rush Limbaugh, they will not win the moderate vote. There are simply too many moderate voters (like me, and I hate to speak for anybody, but I feel safe in doing it here) who realize that Rush Limbaugh is a dumb hack and will not stand to listen to his nonsense. It is pathetic that he is the most powerful and relevant voice in the GOP right now, but that really is the case at the moment and it's sad to see the party has fallen that far. I'm lapping it up as a democrat, with Rush as their leader, they've given up the middle to us and as long as they listen to divisive idiots like Limbaugh,Hannity,Coulter,Malkin etc.,and nominate the likes of Palin, they're gonna keep on losing. There are a lot more votes in the middle than on the right or left fringe.I'm having a blast watching them self destruct, lol.
  23. I was watching Rush Limbaugh giving a speech to CPAC and I thought,as a political party you know you're in deep sh*t when you're reduced to having this clown as one of your movement's leaders.Outside of his dittohead fanboy base and other extreme right wingnuts, nobody takes this drug addict jerk seriously. As a democrat,I never hoped that W would fail even though I disagreed with almost everything he stood for because that would mean the nation would fail and I would be a traitor and a scoundrel that puts politics before country.I'm having a ball watching the GOP becoming an clueless irrelevant regional (read southern) party being led further into obscurity by reactionary blowhards...if and when the GOP gets serious and their adults take over and want to have a real debate on the future of our country that includes solutions other than government=bad and tax cuts,President Obama and the Democrats will be waiting...we won't be holding our breaths though.
