  1. QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 12:49 PM) Not a Love fan but a Bennett fan. Ok Actually, not a fan of either so how am I a Bennett fan for telling posters they're being too harsh on a player who was hurt and was overweight in his ROOKIE season? I just basically said I wasn't about to call him a bust for the rest of his career.
  2. QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 12:39 PM) Defensive RPM doesn't really hate him, he's got a positive rating, albeit ranked 21st. Calling him a statpadder is a little silly too. As long as you're still being efficient then go for it. I just want to say that if the Bulls do in fact get Love, I'll be rooting for the guy and hope he proves me wrong. I doubt it'll happen, Minny probably just wants the Cavs to up their Wiggins offer.
  3. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 12:12 PM) I love how you act like Kevin Love who averages 26-12-5 in a loaded conference for PFs is overhyped and not worth any talent offered for him, but wax poetically about Anthony Bennett and all these players who've done nothing in the league. I'm not a Love fan, simple as that. Is he a top 5, not IMO. Top 10 yeah, but as great as he is offensively, he's bad defensively. I also think he's a bit of a statpadder, so sue me. His great stats haven't exactly translated to wins, right?
  4. I think you guys are being way too harsh on AB. He was clearly hurt last year and was overweight. He's slimmed down and has recovered from his shoulder injury. He has alot of talent, he may never turn out to be the player an overall number one pick should be but I believe he'll become at least a solid PF. To the guy who posted that he'd think hard about a Hinrich/Bennett trade, lol, I'd do that in a heartbeat.
  5. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 10:43 AM) Wouldn't it be really s***ty of the Bulls to trade these guys given the promises that were made? KC Johnson tweeted yesterday and 2 weeks ago that the Bulls promised Mirotic a long term commitment and that's why he opted out. Not only that, they'd be sending him to Minnesota (barf)
  6. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 10:02 PM) gmab. Kevin Garnett had mostly crap around him and had to go up against the shaq/kobe lakers, prime duncan spurs, webber/peja/divac kings, dirk/nash mavs, portland was pretty good from what i remember and still made the playoffs every year outside of a couple. I like love a lot. But he's become overrated ever since LeBron went back to cleveland. He's a net-minus defensively and doesn't do anything to make guys better around him. I personally don't give up a potential t-mac on offense, paul george on defense for him. This
  7. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 09:40 PM) It's essentially never stupid trading for a top 10 player in the league in Love, assuming he reups. Fixed
  8. QUOTE (Boogua @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 12:48 PM) I would guess the Bulls are just trying to make sure that Cleveland gets rid of both Wiggins and Bennett in a trade? I have no idea, but the Bulls clearly can't beat the cavs offer. I firmly believe we'll be laughing at Cleveland in a half decade or so. Even Bennett is going to become a pretty good player I believe. We shall see.
  9. QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 01:20 PM) Assuming, as we must do, that Rose is healthy, what is the Bulls glaring weakness? The biggest one I see is the lack of a dynamic wing player like Lance Stephenson, other than that, I don't really see major holes. Rose remaining healthy of course, which is a big if.
  10. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 01:18 PM) The problem is I can find much worse negative things to say about almost every other team in the East. The Cavs might be weak on defense but they at least would have some serious strengths to counter it. When you start comparing them to the West, they're definitely not invincible, but no one in the East has sold me on being a well rounded team without major holes. Yes of course. That's why I don't buy the Cavs as being head and shoulders above the rest. They will be good, but I think we can match up with them. I don't feel as hopeless against this Cavs team as I did when LeBron was in Miami. The Bulls will still be a very good defensive team, Thibs will make sure of that, but we added guys who can score. Again, Rose will need to healthy and at least be 80% of MVP Rose.
  11. QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 12:51 PM) I would not say they're invincible, but I'd say they'd appear on paper head and shoulders above the pack in the East. Sorry, not buying it. Part of the reason why 2000s LeBron/Cavs were so good (at least in the regular season) was that they were a really good defensive team with the best 2 way player in LeBron. What made the Heat great the first three years was the fact they had three legit offensive stars along with being among the best defensive teams when they wanted to be. This Cavs team has alot of offensive power with LeBron/Love/Kyrie but on paper, that's an awful defense. They can certainly score but other teams will score on them too.
  12. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 17, 2014 -> 02:54 PM) Just saw a tweet that cavs willing to include Wiggins. So long "wide open east", you were a fun 1 week. You guys can laugh all you want, not buying Love + Cavs = invincible in their first year together. Down the road as young guys develope, I can see that, right off the bat, no.
  13. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 09:48 AM) Assuming the following: Boozer could not be moved and is amnestied The McDermott trade happens exactly as it did (Randolph included) Hinrich signs Does soxtalk prefer: Rose-Hinrich Stephenson - Snell Butler - Doug Taj - Mirotic Noah - Greg Smith or the current Rose-Hinrich Butler-Snell Dunleavy-Mcdermott Gasol-Taj-Mirotic Noah-Gasol ???? I like the first line up, dat athleticism and defense.
  14. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 07:44 AM) To expand - Rose has a max contract and has hardly played in three years. Westbrook, while awesome in the bounceback season, has his own worries regarding his legs. Bosh, I mean that one's not even worth discussing. Dwight is a shell of his former self (still very good, but his efficiency is light years behind Love). Harden is the only one you could really argue, but I think I'd still lean Love. Kevin Love was 3rd in PER behind LeBron and Durant last season. Sorry, not trying to pick on you, but your post was ignorant and laughable. This is a message board, you feel one way, not everyone is going to agree. I've given my reasons as to why I don't like Love, and I'm not the only one who feels that way.
  15. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 07:33 AM) Good lord, Felix really has ruined this board. Differing opinions, Felix thought Rose was an overrated inefficient chucker. I think Love is a stat padder whose nice stats doesn't translate into more Wolves wins, and is a liability on defense.
  16. QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 06:26 AM) Wade gets 11 million less than If he would of not opted out. People have been found in car trunks for waaaay less money than that, lol. I still can't believe Wade would do that without knowing for sure what LeBron was gonna do. Maybe they weren't THAT close as the media had us believe. I think the Heat realize what Wade left on the table trying get LeBron to re sign (and his role in bringing him there in the first place). They'll take care of him in the long run, probably give him a position in the Heat organization after he retires.
  17. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 16, 2014 -> 07:01 AM) Lance to charlotte At least he isn't with the Pacers anymore...
  18. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 04:53 PM) Completely agree. I'd take Lebron, Durant, George, Melo, and Chris Paul over him, for starters. Could add to the list but just rolled the first 5 that came to my head off the list. Yeah, going further, I'd take healthy Rose, Westbrook, Bosh, Howard and Harden over Love too. Just not a fan of his. I wouldn't trade Wiggins for him, no way.
  19. QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 15, 2014 -> 09:42 AM) I like the sig update. You were right, it was long overdue.
  20. QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 05:43 PM) Soxtalks love for OJ mayo is undying, even as he attempts to eat himself out of the league. This No thanks on OJ Mayonnaise
  21. QUOTE (Brian @ Jul 14, 2014 -> 06:33 AM) I kind of feel the way I did about the Bears a few years ago. Tired of good defense, I want to score some points. Of course that method hasn't worked for the Bears the past couple of seasons, but still. Ha, so true. The thing with Bears though is that they went from a solid defense with a terrible offense to a historically bad defense with a very good offense. I'm betting the Bulls will noticeably improve on offense, and no way will Thibs allow the defense to drop off in a major way. I just hope Thibs give Niko and McBuckets alot of burn.
  22. I'm actually excited about the Bulls, obviously it all hinges on Rose ability to stay on the floor.
