In b4 Melo staying in NY...
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 12, 2014 -> 01:10 AM) Woj says Bulls are signing Pau. Not exactly sure what this means for Melo... Boozer's gone, right?
-
QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 11, 2014 -> 04:48 PM) Seriously. I can't pity them whatsoever. Their fans suck and they gamed the system 4 years ago to assemble a super team. The way the Spurs dismantled the Heat that eventually led to their demise couldn't have been written better in Hollywood. Epic. The Evil Empire has fallen!

QUOTE (Soxfest @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 10:36 PM) Houston should tell Bosh come now or forget it be a man Bosh! This is the reason my gut tells me the Big 3 aren't going anywhere. Bosh isn't taking that Rockets offer because he knows LeBron is staying in Miami. Wade opted out of his contract because he also knew LeBron was re signing, they're supposed to be real tight, as if it's believable that Wade would leave millions on the table without knowing what's LeBron's next move. For the life of me though, I just can't figure out why no one in LeBron's camp has squashed the LeBron to Cleveland rumors. If he does stay in Miami, there will be a lot of broken hearts again and none of it is LeBron's fault but his PR people did nothing to temper expectations. LeBron will look like an asshole again, even though the media was at fault.

QUOTE (chw42 @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 09:23 PM) So creepy and useless. What are those people expecting? Fireworks when LeBron announces his decision? He's not even home. None of that makes any sense. Those people are just wasting their time. But then again, they must have nothing better to do if they're there in the first place. Insert they're in Cleveland joke here... But yeah, seriously, imagine if LeBron doesn't go back to Cleveland. There might be riots this time.

I don't know if it's been posted before here but there's a live stream from LeBron's house...seriously http://fox8.com/live-stream-b/

QUOTE (maggsmaggs @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 08:14 PM) He is the offensive version of Ron Artest. I just think his potential to just ruin a locker room is not worth the money. While he is talented, he still is not a game-changing player where the risk is worth the reward, imo. From what I've heard, Frank Vogel isn't great at managing his clubhouse, that's part of the reason we kept hearing about alot of turmoil within Pacers players. OTOH, the Bulls have a great clubhouse atmosphere, Thibs is very much loved by his players, IMO the Bulls vets (Noah, Gibson, Rose) will have a positive affect on him. He's a dynamic scorer with a big upside. It's worth the risk, I'm tired of the status quo and while I hope we can still land Melo, I've never really felt he was going to leave NY and I still don't. At the very least we should be sending out feelers to Stephenson's people.

QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 07:03 PM) Aggrey Sam just said on CSN he believes the Bulls have moved on from Carmelo, and are on to plan B. Lance Stephenson, please

QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jul 10, 2014 -> 12:12 PM) This thread might be the best place to stay up to date on all of the Bulls related drama on the web. PS: I wasn't around last night but I agree w/Tru & Steve, if the Bulls don't get Melo, and LBJ goes to Cleveland, the Cavs would be the favorites in the East. I do disagree that they would be automatic, however, that would be dependent on what else the Bulls did and what the Pacers could do to get their mental edge back. I think Wizards / Raports get too much love and aren't yet on same level as Bulls / Pacers. I do not think that team, even with Love, would be an automatic NBA champion, as after acquiring Love they would have some depth issues (and we can't play ignorant to Kyrie's health situation), however, that would make them pretty heavy favorites in East. Anyone who thinks otherwise doesn't realize just how truly great Lebron is and is also underselling the ability of Kyrie. Since it was me, and Quinavry to a certain extent, that were arguing with Steve and TRU, I just want to be clear in what I believe. Of course if you put LeBron on the current Cavs team, and if you include Love, that means they most likely won't have Wiggins because I read that the TWolves would ask for Wigs, they would be contenders right away, but I don't believe they would be unbeatable. They would be a very young team with no playoff experience and a coach with zero NBA experience. When LeBron went to Miami, he had a FMVP in Wade and another All Star player in Bosh, and they were surrounded by vets. The whole thing was supervised by Riley, the situation in Cleveland is a whole lot different. They don't have that kind of championship experience. That's the reason I said it would take the Cavs a year or two before they become unbeatable if their younger guys mature and turn out to be the players they're projected to be. I wouldn't trade Wiggins for Love to be honest, it could be just a rental and I really do think Wiggins is going to be a star in this league. It takes a team to win, the Cavs will flourish with today's greatest player but I'm not buying the notion that they can't be beaten in their first year or two together, especially considering the franchise, coach and youth of their team. Somehow that get's translated as having a venemous hate towards LeBron though when I never even questioned his status of today's greatest player, it's his team and coach I'm questioning. After all, it does take a team effort to win.

I should wake up says the guy who rocks a Melo in a Bulls uniform sig, lol. At least the guys who I have in my sig played with the Bulls.
-
Now I have venemous hate because I'm not a James jockrider, lol ok. LeBron is the best player right now, find somewhere I say otherwise. I just don't get caught up on the hype and I would rather wait until their career is over to judge where they stand among the greats. BTW, 99-2003 Shaq to me was the most dominating NBA player I've ever seen besides MJ. You were probably too young to really appreciate peak O'Neal.

QUOTE (Steve9347 @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:43 PM) And it begins. Pretty sure you and J4L basically laughed at the notion of the Heat losing these past Finals... Or are you going to say you never said that? J4L laughed at me when I kept saying the Spurs were gonna beat the Heat. It isn't that I 'hate' LeBron, I don't, I just don't overrate the hell out of him. But carry on...
-
QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:24 PM) Ok so who is the favorite? The Bulls? Hold on while I go laugh uncontrollably for the next 10 minutes Laugh all you want, the vacuum created by the Heat's demise will put the Bulls with a healthy Rose, Pacers, Wizards and Raptors in position to take the East before the Cavs get their s*** down and dominate the rest of the decade. I can't believe you guys think LeBron can lead a bunch of young guys who've never even been in the playoffs and now they're supposed to be favorites. It'll take them a year or two, and that's going with the premise that their new coach, who's never coached in the NBA, can actually coach on this level. I can't believe you guys can't see the question marks.
-
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:07 PM) lol@all of this. LeBron/Love+Irving would be like Garnett/Allen+Pierce in '08. They'd be devastating offensively. Defensively there would be some question marks (have to see what the roster would like around them). But defensive schemes have become so good that you can cover up multiple weaknesses in that area. No east team outside of maybe Toronto would have a legit chance of beating them. We disagree. Learning to play together just doesn't happen right away, especially one so young so as these Cavs. And as you mentioned, the roster the Cavs are building look defensively challenged.
-
QUOTE (TRU @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 09:03 PM) Yeah right, LeBron was getting the Cavs to the finals with absolute garbage round him. If he has Love/Wiggins, Kyrie, and what other veterens follow theyll come out of the east no problem. We'll agree to disagree, LeBron had a team that was pretty good defensively, you're asking too much of youngsters like Wiggins, Kyrie, Bennett etc to become good defensively right away. It takes time to develope. Unless the Cavs completely change their roster, they'll be a young team that'll need to play together a while to start getting close to their potential. Also, who knows how that coach they hired turns out. Sorry, I just can't see them as automatic contenders.

I couldn't care less about Anthony at this point, he was always stayng in NY and it was always about dat money. I'm much more interested in where James ends up. Things are looking like he's going back to Cleveland which gives us a year or two max window in the East to get to the Finals. I honestly believe LeBron in the Cavs and even with Love, they aren't making the Finals right away, it takes some time to mesh and they have alot of youngsters who've never even gotten to the playoffs. I can't believe some of you guys think they're instant contenders, even with Love. Don't get me wrong, they'll be good but their youth, they'll need to mature. I think in 2 or more likely 3 years, they should be killing the East.

Third time against each other in the Final, Argentina won in 86, Germany in 90. My head tells me Germany, my heart wants Argentina. Argentina 2 Germany 1 in extra time.

QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 06:07 PM) Are we still taking the NY Daily News report as fact? I never cited the NYDN. I base it off things I've read about Melo, dude just isn't the type of player that'll do anything for a title.

QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 9, 2014 -> 03:18 PM) He had to make it seem legit that he was looking to leave to force the Knicks to offer the max. We have a winner. I been saying all along, I never believed for one second that Anthony was going to leave NY. It ALWAYS was about the money.
