  1. QUOTE (farmteam @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 04:52 PM) It doesn't matter how good the other team is, going from from up 1-0 in the 88th minute to still losing in regulation is choking. On a BS flop by Robben Anyways, a late goal on CR, let's go Ticos!
  2. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 01:11 PM) dont be mad, you can go ahead and claim you really dont care about soccer like you did in the past when Mexico was struggling in qualifiers but only to keep showing up in these threads. and go ahead and start throwing that choke word around, even i wont argue about applying it now. Soccer is my fifth favorite sport, I don't follow league play that much, I know in general what going on but I don't even have a fave team. I tune in to WCs, Copa America and such but the Bears losing in the playoffs hits me harder than Mexico losing in the WC. Anyways, I have no idea why you're being a dick, Mexico didn't choke, in the end they gave up the initiative to a world class team and you can't do that. Laugh all you want right now, I'll have the last laugh, especially if you lose to a crap Belgium team.
  3. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 01:02 PM) They didn't send that many men forward. I know you want to avoid counter attacks but still, they need a 2nd goal before you goal full blown turtle. I wrote that Mexico should've kept attacking. Holland went foward but Mexico didn't try and control the ball, they just went to full defensive mode with way too much time. They had this game but didn't go for the kill, this game was winnable. The Robben penalty was a flop but the ref didn't call the clear one near the end of the first half. Anyways, it was a nice showing considering Mexico looked like crap in the CONCACAF tourney.
  4. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 01:04 PM) Has a team ever showed up the a knockout round game and appeared to have 0 interest in it? Mexico did some good things in the first 50 minutes but the Dutch came in thinking they could just show up and it'd be an automatic win. Dat analysis.
  5. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 29, 2014 -> 12:57 PM) Lol at Mexico. Costa Rica is free cheese. I'll lol at the US when they get eliminated, it's coming
  6. It'll take a miracle to shut out Holland, we need to keep attacking.
  7. Lol J4L. You sound salty as f*ck. The Heat getting murked got you that down? I don't really feel like getting into it with you (watching Captain Phillips) but I do recall me and you having a difference of opinion between which franchise was more worthy of emulating, you said the Heat and I said San Antonio. SA has beaten the GOAT (lol) LeBron 2 outta 3, really should be 3 outta 3 though... BTW you might want to hand in your Bulls fan card already. That Heat bandwagon is a little lighter nowadays so just go full out, bro. And let's just totally ignore the Bulls got past Patrick Ewing, Alonzo Mourning and Shaq in the East.
  8. QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jun 28, 2014 -> 07:33 PM) I'll take Bosh at a max contract in a heartbeat if it somehow could happen. I don't know about a max contract but close to it, yeah. Part of Bosh regression is that he's had to adjust his game to LeBron, he's basically a spot up shooter now. With the Bulls, we'd have him closer to the rim (you'd think).
  9. Meh, Wade is s*** and Bosh has regressed with LeBron. Even if they get Lowry, that doesn't change the dynamic all that much. San Antonio has shown us the importance of depth. I don't see how they're gonna upgrade their biggest weaknesses, their lack of a quality big and a decent bench. San Antonio is basically intact, they are a much bigger threat to repeat than the Heat to be top dog again. Also, let's be honest, San Antonio should've won 2 years ago and this year they blew Miami out. The Heat aren't that good once you get past LeBron, they wouldn't have had four straight NBA Finals if the East wasn't total garbage.
  10. QUOTE (pettie4sox @ Jun 28, 2014 -> 06:18 PM) Would the wise bet be Netherlands and Costa Rica for victories tomorrow? Yes sir.
  11. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 28, 2014 -> 04:50 PM) Haven't lost a competitive international game since 75. I am rooting majorly against them but they have the talent and ability, they have been choppy though. The two teams I can't stand winning are Mexico / Brazil. Thanks alot Seriously though, this Brazilian side is the least talented WC team I can remember, if I were a betting man, I'd put money on them not making it to the Final. About Mexico vs Netherlands, I'm cautiously optimistic but the Netherlands are insanely good, I don't think we'll get past them tomorrow. Just hoping for a good showing by El Tri.
  12. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 28, 2014 -> 02:24 PM) It's real easy for people who have never been in a situation like that yell "choke". It is what is what it is, bruh.
  13. QUOTE (zenryan @ Jun 28, 2014 -> 02:06 PM) No one choked Um, yeah. A good shooter should almost never miss PK, the goalie is at a great disadvantage. It's been proven that missed PKs is a result of a kicker wilting under the pressure, thus it is fair to say they choked.
  14. Not taking anything away from Chile but I'll be shocked if Brazil makes it to the Final.
  15. Brasil just going with long balls from their own end, that isn't their game.
  16. Two flops, one by each team, ref didn't bite, great job.
  17. QUOTE (Rowand44 @ Jun 28, 2014 -> 09:35 AM) I get it. I think Chile gets Brazil today. I hope your right but I wouldn't be surprised at some home cooking from the refs. Brasil and Colombia pass today IMO
  18. We should all just forget Anthony, he's playing us and the other teams he's 'interested' in for leverage.
  19. QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 09:13 PM) At the risk of 2k5 calling me a bandwagoner, Heat got themselves a baller. You also were talking up Beasley and Oden when the Heat got them so...
  20. QUOTE (Dick Allen @ Jun 26, 2014 -> 09:05 PM) Adam Silver is at least in the picture for world's biggest ears.
