Ferguson Riots
QUOTE (HickoryHuskers @ Aug 15, 2014 -> 11:35 AM) I'm not going to try and say that it's anything like race-based mistreatment, but where I live there are numerous stories of people getting horribly mistreated by cops, and most of the victims are white. I have a friend who got the s*** beat out of him to the point of having to to to the ER by two off-duty cops for no other reason than he was stumbling drunk in a bar and spilled one of their beers. They got off scot-free. I've heard many other second-hand stories of local police crossing far over the line. If I didn't have a cousin who is a Sgt. with the state police and a former roommate who is a federal prosecutor, I'd be short selling my house and getting the f*** out of here. Cops here can't be trusted and it has very little, if anything, to do with race. Wow. So cops also mess with white folks from time to time? Crazy. I've lived most of my life in So Cal and that hardly ever happened there.

Ferguson Riots
I'm not going to get into this whole riots situation but most of you guys being white will never fully understand why minorities in America are so afraid of the police. I've never been arrested, never been involved with gangs or any of that kind of stuff but that hasn't stopped pigs from harrassing me and treating as if I were a criminal various times in my past. Not all cops are bad, I know this, in fact probably most are good people really trying to help their communities. But I've run into enough racist redneck hillbilly assholes with badges and licenses to kill to know that there are "cops" out there who are just itching for a minority to just give them one reason, any reason for them to pull out their fire arm, beat them with their club, pepper spray or stun gun a person. Pretty funny you hardly hear about some white kid getting abused by the cops, whenever you hear about police brutallity, it's always on a black or Hispanic person. They seem to always have the same story too, the suspect either reaches inside their clothes and the cop is forced to shoot or the suspect tries to reach for the cop's gun. A lot of these incidences happen with witnesses who contradict the police's version but nothing ever happens to the cop. There also is a lot of video footage of cops using excessive force on minorities, they're on YouTube, cops beating on old ladies and ridiculous s*** like that, so the proof of police brutallity is out there. Riots happen because communities are sick and tired of being f***ed with by those who are supposed be there to serve and protect. It ain't that hard to figure out, bros.

(Insert Celeb Here) is Dead
QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 12, 2014 -> 07:33 AM) Death to Smoochy was a great movie, he played a very twisted character and played him well. I love that movie, not a real big fan of Williams comedy routine but I do like a lot of his movies, Death to Smoochy, One Hour Photo and Awakenings being my favorites.

Tony Stewart purposefully ran someone over?
QUOTE (zenryan @ Aug 11, 2014 -> 12:44 AM) Pure speculation on your part rightnow that Stewart was pissed off here. Maybe Stewart did it on purpose, maybe Stewart was just trying to scare him or maybe it was just a freak accident but the other driver is a f***ing moron for putting himself and Stewart in this situation. I've said it before and will say it again, the LeBron, KLove and Kyrie core doesn't scare me even half as much as the LeBron, Wade and Bosh core did. Not even close. The Miami trio could play D, that Cavs trio, not so much. The Miami trio was guided by NBA top Don Pat Riley, the Cavs are run by a bunch of misfits. The Bulls are in the Finals provided DRose stays healthy.

QUOTE (RockRaines @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 12:49 PM) Not a Love fan but a Bennett fan. Ok Actually, not a fan of either so how am I a Bennett fan for telling posters they're being too harsh on a player who was hurt and was overweight in his ROOKIE season? I just basically said I wasn't about to call him a bust for the rest of his career.- 2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (scs787 @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 12:39 PM) Defensive RPM doesn't really hate him, he's got a positive rating, albeit ranked 21st. Calling him a statpadder is a little silly too. As long as you're still being efficient then go for it. I just want to say that if the Bulls do in fact get Love, I'll be rooting for the guy and hope he proves me wrong. I doubt it'll happen, Minny probably just wants the Cavs to up their Wiggins offer.- 2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 12:12 PM) I love how you act like Kevin Love who averages 26-12-5 in a loaded conference for PFs is overhyped and not worth any talent offered for him, but wax poetically about Anthony Bennett and all these players who've done nothing in the league. I'm not a Love fan, simple as that. Is he a top 5, not IMO. Top 10 yeah, but as great as he is offensively, he's bad defensively. I also think he's a bit of a statpadder, so sue me. His great stats haven't exactly translated to wins, right?- 2014-2015 NBA thread
I think you guys are being way too harsh on AB. He was clearly hurt last year and was overweight. He's slimmed down and has recovered from his shoulder injury. He has alot of talent, he may never turn out to be the player an overall number one pick should be but I believe he'll become at least a solid PF. To the guy who posted that he'd think hard about a Hinrich/Bennett trade, lol, I'd do that in a heartbeat.- 2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 23, 2014 -> 10:43 AM) Wouldn't it be really s***ty of the Bulls to trade these guys given the promises that were made? KC Johnson tweeted yesterday and 2 weeks ago that the Bulls promised Mirotic a long term commitment and that's why he opted out. Not only that, they'd be sending him to Minnesota (barf)- 2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (Jordan4life @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 10:02 PM) gmab. Kevin Garnett had mostly crap around him and had to go up against the shaq/kobe lakers, prime duncan spurs, webber/peja/divac kings, dirk/nash mavs, portland was pretty good from what i remember and still made the playoffs every year outside of a couple. I like love a lot. But he's become overrated ever since LeBron went back to cleveland. He's a net-minus defensively and doesn't do anything to make guys better around him. I personally don't give up a potential t-mac on offense, paul george on defense for him. This- 2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (Buehrle>Wood @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 09:40 PM) It's essentially never stupid trading for a top 10 player in the league in Love, assuming he reups. Fixed- 2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (Boogua @ Jul 22, 2014 -> 12:48 PM) I would guess the Bulls are just trying to make sure that Cleveland gets rid of both Wiggins and Bennett in a trade? I have no idea, but the Bulls clearly can't beat the cavs offer. I firmly believe we'll be laughing at Cleveland in a half decade or so. Even Bennett is going to become a pretty good player I believe. We shall see.- 2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (Jenksismyb**** @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 01:20 PM) Assuming, as we must do, that Rose is healthy, what is the Bulls glaring weakness? The biggest one I see is the lack of a dynamic wing player like Lance Stephenson, other than that, I don't really see major holes. Rose remaining healthy of course, which is a big if.- 2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 01:18 PM) The problem is I can find much worse negative things to say about almost every other team in the East. The Cavs might be weak on defense but they at least would have some serious strengths to counter it. When you start comparing them to the West, they're definitely not invincible, but no one in the East has sold me on being a well rounded team without major holes. Yes of course. That's why I don't buy the Cavs as being head and shoulders above the rest. They will be good, but I think we can match up with them. I don't feel as hopeless against this Cavs team as I did when LeBron was in Miami. The Bulls will still be a very good defensive team, Thibs will make sure of that, but we added guys who can score. Again, Rose will need to healthy and at least be 80% of MVP Rose.- 2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Jul 18, 2014 -> 12:51 PM) I would not say they're invincible, but I'd say they'd appear on paper head and shoulders above the pack in the East. Sorry, not buying it. Part of the reason why 2000s LeBron/Cavs were so good (at least in the regular season) was that they were a really good defensive team with the best 2 way player in LeBron. What made the Heat great the first three years was the fact they had three legit offensive stars along with being among the best defensive teams when they wanted to be. This Cavs team has alot of offensive power with LeBron/Love/Kyrie but on paper, that's an awful defense. They can certainly score but other teams will score on them too.- 2014-2015 NBA thread
QUOTE (bmags @ Jul 17, 2014 -> 02:54 PM) Just saw a tweet that cavs willing to include Wiggins. So long "wide open east", you were a fun 1 week. You guys can laugh all you want, not buying Love + Cavs = invincible in their first year together. Down the road as young guys develope, I can see that, right off the bat, no. - 2014-2015 NBA thread
