QUOTE (iamshack @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 03:11 PM) I don't know how you can send either Lilli or Dayan down... I bet Ozzie does, we just need to hope that KW makes a stand on this one.

Here's hoping that Viciedo and Lillibridge make it impossible to kick themm off the roster in favor of Kotsay.

Dayan is strong as hell. He almost hit an oppo shot off his hands.

The A's broadcast was just given a trivia question asking, "Does White Sox 2b Gordon Beckham look like Wayne Arnold from the Wonder Years?".

Gio matching Floyd pitch for pitch.

Daniel Hudson watch thread
This trade is never going to sit well with me. Watching this game he's throwing against the Mets isn't helping.

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 02:10 PM) And it's not like Jones is a poor fielder. We have Carlos Quentin playing RF. There is no logical debate here.

I love that range in CF.

What do we have in Viciedo?
QUOTE (southsider2k5 @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 01:35 PM) He's not even close to that bad. Hell he doesn't even have a derogatory nickname yet. TMK doesn't have the same ring to it that D-Wheezey does. I think Joe needs to get to work on the nickname thing.

QUOTE (TitoMB @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 02:02 PM) Yeah, Pierre is the DH actually. I didn't see it until now. So Jones is in LF and Juan is DHing. Don't you love it when a player whose only advantage is his glove is used as DH? You're outsmarting us all, Ozzie!

I'm flipping from this to Huddy's start for Arizona. I probably shouldn't be doing this to myself.

I didn't think it could be done but Beane actually created a lineup with no power. You put Crisp in that lineup and Ozzie would love to manage it.

QUOTE (KyYlE23 @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 12:21 PM) Castor oil has its uses. Boom baba boom baba boom baba s***, i haven't made that obvious of a typo in a while. The A's lineup is very beatable. A's Davis CF, Barton 1B, Cust DH, Kouzmanoff 3B, Ellis 2B, Powell C, Pennington SS, Watson LF, Carson RF, (Gonzalez P)

Sox fine as-is?
The Twins get Morneau back and hopefully the Sox get a Viciedo and Teahen time share. That probably won't be enough, but it will be a start. I'm still amazed that KW didn't get anyone. Even a guy like Hawpe could have had a positive effect on this team.

White Sox make no last minute deals
QUOTE (Hawk09 @ Aug 1, 2010 -> 11:35 AM) He will cost the Sox roughly 9.5 million more in that span than Hudson..but he has won 26 more games vs the AL over the last three years than Hudson, who has won 2. That's a great point. It's amazing that Jackson could win that many games in 85 starts over the last three years, while Hudson could only win two in his 5 CAREER MAJOR LEAGUE STARTS. Jackson has also lost 17 more games against the AL then Hudson has in that time. What is this? Fun with sample sizes? Jackson has won more games them me in the last 8 years too.

2010 AL Central Catch-All
QUOTE (greg775 @ Jul 31, 2010 -> 11:27 PM) Yost, by the way, loves Getz. And Ozzie loves Mark Kotsay. Managers tend to fall in love with some players for odd reasons. Often those reasons seem to extend beyond being any good at baseball.

Waiver Wire Thread
I expect to see the Cubs put a lot of their big contracts through waivers in a few weeks. The problem is that the Twins and the Tigers could easily block us and be better for it.
