Another at bat dictated by a terrible first pitch ball called strike. In other news, the sky is blue. -

Dude literally just struck out the side. He's the ace of the staff. Do you really think going to the bullpen in the 4th is a good idea? -
Ok
-
It's not about expectations. On the current team, right now, it's about blocking guys that should be given a look. Signing a guy like EE didn't help this team. It's hurt them by not seeing what they have in young guys. This should have been a year to see what we have in some of those guys. Obviously, that's just one example. But that's what I was talking about. Not so much that he hit on his lotto tickets. I wouldn't even have as much of an issue with it if he didn't come out and say they weren't going to be signing those types of guys and then, boom John Jay types come on down.
-
Dude, you're arguing just to argue. I said numerous times what my issue was with the stop gaps in that he said he wasn't going to be signing those guys. If you think Hahn is great when in comes to Free Agency, then awesome!
-
Yea, which is great that they were one year deals most of the time. But it was just wasted money and in some cases blocking a spot for young guys who should be getting playing time instead.
-
I never said disqualify it. If you think Hahn is doing a great job in free agency based on that one hit when it comes to free agency, then that's great for you. The reality he hasn't hit on the vast majority of them. Besides, going back to what I originally said, he made numerous comments in interviews on how he wasn't going to sign veteran stop gap type players and then did exactly that. That's what my gripe was with.
-
Hey hey, congrats on finding one of the few one or two year deals that worked out. And you know damn well he lucked into that one. I mean, it's all right here in this article, if you can stomach seeing all this in fine print. I would advise against it if you've just eaten. https://www.soxmachine.com/2019/11/08/avert-your-eyes-an-accounting-of-white-sox-free-agents-in-the-rick-hahn-era/

I absolutely loved Joe Crede. Man, how I still wish he never had back issues. It's such a sad what if. Also, just hearing Hawk on those calls, so great. What I wouldn't give to still have that same enthusiasm today. Those home run calls with Hawk and DJ screaming YES are the best there ever was. Instead we get pitch pipes for fucking insurance commercials from the booth. Ugh. I don't mind Steve and Jason, but Hawks calls are sorely missed.

9/22 - White Sox @ Cleveland: Lopez vs Quantrill
soulfly replied to Kyyle23's topic in 2020 Season in Review
Yep, checks out, put Ruiz in there with the game on the line. Quality. -
No. I was referring to the trash 1 and 2 year deals he has signed. That said, I don't think we needed to sign a catcher last year. But it is what it is. It was Hahn being Hahn.
-
Because Hahn sucks when it comes to free agents. These one year deals given out to vets are dragging us down. Look at all the shit he signed the last two off seasons for one or two year deals. That is of course after he said they would not be signing stop gap type veterans. It is what it is. The young talent is there and playing well despite shitty veteran additions and Ricky's terrible lineups and bullpen use.

All three inches of the umps wood were at full mast with that terrible third strike call. What a clown. -

Just not a fan of the game Grandal calls. At all. Like, couldn't be any worse. -
Robert looks completely lost and over-matched this last week plus.
-
Yea, probably jumped down on his slide and hurt his ass. You could see how bad the pants looked when he walked to the dugout.
-
I don't know what Ricky was looking at the previous few at bats. But clearly the kid doesn't have it and shouldn't be pitching to any more batters. Though truthfully he never should have been in this position to begin with and that's another failure of Hahn.
-
You don't let Rafi from the League's cousin beat you. Simple as that.

Jose "The Jet" Abreu
-
Robert and Moncada need at least a few days off. They won't get them, but holy hell do they both need to be out of the lineup for a few days to get their heads straight.
-
Didn't know he did that. But hey, look, more reasons to hate this absolute garbage franchise. Bunch of clowns.
-
Cruz says hi.
-
This Twins team is filled with a bunch of literal garbage human beings and garbage players. If it wasn't for the roiding they do, they'd be a cellar team. Which is where they should be. Fuck the Twins. The Sox need to come back next inning and finish this bunch of losers off.

Tim Anderson Trade Value (Fangraphs Trade Value Series)
soulfly replied to Look at Ray Ray Run's topic in Pale Hose Talk
It wasn't just Fangraphs. There were other articles all with the same nonsense. If he played for certain other teams they would be all over his nuts. It is what it is. I'm glad it gives him the fuel to keep getting better (which is crazy to even say at this point). https://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/articles/mlbs_top_10_shortstops_in_2020_an_embarrassment_of_riches/s1_11027_31747559 -
Imagine all the clowns that continually shit all over TA and last years performance. It makes re-reading articles like this even more entertaining given how awesome he has been this year. https://www.yardbarker.com/mlb/articles/mlbs_top_10_shortstops_in_2020_an_embarrassment_of_riches/s1_11027_31747559
