You are probably right. If we cut Hudson, we would only have 1 LH hitter on the bench and Morel can't play more than one position.
-
He doesn't have a spot with the Sox anymore..
-
White Sox scouts were at the Cubs game last night looking at Sanchez and will be there again tonight to scout Johnson. I hope we don't make a trade for Johnson, his velocity has been falling this year.
-
Niese would be a nice addition to our rotation. I'd also take Cedeno to take over Escobar spot

Jason (Milwaukee) Greinke, recharging batteries or sitting out to avoid injury before he is traded? Jayson Stark (12:13 PM) I don't know exactly what to make of this. But the problem for the Brewers is, the teams that were in on Greinke don't know what to make of it, either. Even if this is just to recharge or get him back on a routine, sitting him down in a week where they're playing the Cardinals and Reds raises a million red flags.

Eric (Chicago) Alright Jayson, look into your crystal ball...will Dempster's next start be with the Cubs or with someone else? If someone else, who's leading the pack - Tigers? Dodgers? Someone else? Jayson Stark (12:04 PM) I'm going to guess for someone else. I was told by one team that spoke with them that they'd like to move him this week. I'm betting Red Sox or Tigers. But that's just a hunch at this point

Sure we can do a sig bet.. I think Alex Smith will improve because of the people that the 49ers added this offseason..

Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan @Ken_Rosenthal reports Cubs exchanging names with Dodgers, Braves, Tigers and Red Sox for Ryan Dempster.

I'd like to see the Sox get Dellin Betances. The Yankees probably want Mitchell.

Did Chicago Tribune Live mentioned that the Sox are after Cliff Lee?

http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/danny-kn...arting-pitchers The White Sox, as CBSSports.com colleague Jon Heyman wrote today, have prioritized starting pitching in trade talks this week, with Zack Greinke the top target. MLB Sports Report @MLBSportsReport #WhiteSox are expected to make a big offer for Zack Greinke, source says. Looks like Greinke is KW #1 choice.

We do have Peavy, AJ and Floyd money coming off the books.
-
If we trade Viciedo for Greinke. Make another deal with MN for Willingham.
-
Kevin Goldstein @Kevin_Goldstein Not without getting very creative and incl. big leagues. RT @ErikPerez08: @Kevin_Goldstein Do the ChiSox have the pieces to acquire Grienke?

Daryl Van Schouwen @CST_soxvan Floyd doesn't think he'll land on DL. confirms he's out for Fenway series, tho. Mark Gonzales @MDGonzales Danks "giddy" after throwing from 90 feet. Floyd doubts he'll pitch Wed., believes he'll avoid DL

Would be great to bring back Lillibridge
-
I'd rather have Q in the rotation over Floyd..
-
Nick Cafardo @nickcafardo Looks like a move will be made with Brent Lillibridge to make room for crawford.
-
Mark Gonzales @MDGonzales John Danks playing catch at a distance of 90 feet with Juan Nieves I hope Danks can come back soon
-
Jerry Crasnick @jcrasnick A scout told me to watch #whitesox at deadline because Kenny Williams has "no fear.'' He also has MLB's 30th ranked farm system.
-
Putz would be a very nice addition to the Sox. Thornton might just have his best friend back on the team.
-
I heard from an inside source that the Sox are looking to bring back JJ Putz

http://www.cbssports.com/mlb/blog/jon-heym...r-greinke-derby The surprising White Sox now have Zack Greinke on their radar, scoures said. The first-place White Sox have established themselves as the favorite in the A.L. Central to the surprise of many, and they are said to be hoping to make another second big splash on the trade market. Their trade for third baseman kevin Youkilis has been a major hit. The Braves, Angels, Rangers, Orioles and other also are expected to be in the Greinke derby. Gavin Floyd's start was push back due to an elbow issue, and John Danks has had injury concerns this year as well. So the White Sox clearly want another starter. The White Sox also would like to add a veteran reliever. Greinke's scheduled start Wednesday was pushed back, but sources familiar with the situation say he isn't hurt. Brewers GM Doug Melvin told Foxsports.com they just want to "recharge his batteries.'' The Brewers have some hope to stay in the race, but sources suggest their chances to re-sign Greinke are very slim.
