  1. Per MLBTR... Bench coach Jim Riggleman will replace him.
  2. If it ever comes out that Mauer has juiced, I will be crushed. He's becoming baseballs' golden boy, and rightfully so...
  3. Roy Halladay left today's game against the Marlins in the 4th inning with a groin injury...
  4. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 11:35 PM) Hard to believe Moore has been there four seasons. I feel for the Royals. They always were pure class with Brett and all those great players. Then a whole generation has known seen the Royals as bottom feeders. Do you go to a lot of games? You must be a big baseball fan if you are on the Sox board. I don't make it to as many games I'd like, I'm about 200 miles west of KC. And yes, I love baseball, except the Yankees. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 11:53 PM) He also has low average, low OBP, and a ton of K's written all over him... Exactly. I like him, but the man cannot play defense or hit lefties to save his life. Luke Hochevar just threw 79 pitches for a complete game against the Reds.
  5. Next starts... Beckett: Sunday @ Phillies Bedard: Saturday @ Rockies Buehrle: Sunday @ Brewers Greinke: Wednesday v. Diamondbacks Halladay: today v. Marlins Hernandez: Tuesday @ Padres Jackson: Wednesday @ Cardinals Verlander: Tuesday @ Cardinals Weaver: Sunday v. Padres
  6. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 11, 2009 -> 10:33 PM) Why isn't Kila Ka'aihue playing first base for you guys, but Mike Jacobs is? That makes no sense... Man, I'd love to get Kila Ka'aihue as our future DH. Jacobs has only started 10 games at 1B this year, and 8 of them were in April. Butler is our 1B. As for Kila, I hope we move Jacobs soon and give him a shot...
  7. Halladay now leads in the "CYP" category... Buehrle: (ND), 6.1 innings, 4 hits, 5 earned runs, 4 walks, 4 strikeouts, 1 HR. ERA up to 3.24
  8. QUOTE (greg775 @ Jun 7, 2009 -> 11:37 PM) Anybody surprised KC is THIS BAD again? Man. You know, this was a proud franchise right out of the chute. Once they got an expansion franchise, KC never stunk. Til Ewing Kauffman died. Since then ... geezus. s*** baseball!!!! Surprised? No. We're use to it. The good thing, if you want to call it that, is that we (as a fanbase) were told we would contend for the division this year. At this point, that is obviously not happening. Our GM is only in his 4th season, and I believe vast changes are coming for this team, personnel wise...
  9. Added Bedard... Next starts... Bedard: Saturday @ Colorado Buehrle: today v. Tigers Greinke: Thursday @ Cleveland Halladay: Friday v. Florida Hernandez: Wednesday @ Baltimore Edwin Jackson: Thursday @ White Sox Verlander: Wednesday @ White Sox Weaver: Tuesday @ Rays
  10. Last night... Jackson: (W #6) 9 innings, 4 hits, 1 run, 1 walk, 5 strikeouts. ERA down to 2.16 Today... Halladay: (W #10), 9 innings, 7 hits, 0 runs, 0 walks, 7 strikeouts. ERA down to 2.52
  11. I hope he keeps it up, then maybe we can trade him...
  12. Today... Greinke: (L), 5 innings, 9 hits, 7 runs, 5 earned, 1 walk, 3 strikeouts, 2 HR Hernandez: (ND), 7 innings, 6 hits, 1 earned run, 3 walks, 7 strikeouts Verlander: (ND), 8 innings, 4 hits, 0 runs, 4 walks, 7 strikeouts Next starts... Buehrle: Monday v. Tigers Greinke: Thursday @ Cleveland Halladay: Sunday v. Royals Hernandez: Tuesday @ Baltimore Edwin Jackson: Saturday v. Angels Verlander: Wednesday @ White Sox Weaver: Tuesday @ Rays
  13. QUOTE (BearSox @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 10:15 PM) Puh-lease. Not counting todays game, he's averaging 107 pitches a game. If you're saying that he's been overworked, your crazy. Maybe his arm has gotten tired, it happens, but he hasn't been over worked. Also, he's still only 26, so his arm can handle a heavy workload (which really isn't heavy). He's been dominating in 90% of his games, there's no reason why he shouldn't have had a lot IP piled up already. For reference, Justin Verlander (who's the same age) has pitched in the same number of game, but in about 10 less innings. Yet, he's averaging 108 pitches per game. Is he being overworked to? Good info. Greinke's averaging 7.1 per outing. He still has a significant Cy Young lead...
  14. I'm surprised this hasn't been posted... 5 innings, 9 hits, 7 runs, 5 earned, 2 HR, 3 K, 1 BB His ERA is now 1.55
  15. QUOTE (Chisoxfn @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 03:51 PM) Hosmer was a good pick. He's a very talented prep and he's doing a nice job in the minors, showing very good gap to gap power and I believe he'll project to hit for a ton of power. Take a look at his splits against lefites... QUOTE (NorthSideSox72 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 04:01 PM) Who is that in your avatar? George Brett, hitting #3,000 QUOTE (Brian @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 04:17 PM) Gotta love MLB. Burnett got 6 games for throwing at and missing a batter, Padilla just got fined for hitting Tex. Padilla got released for his antics.
  16. I hope he does well. Last year, I wanted him or Buster Posey. We took Hosmer instead...
  17. I've actually started collecting again in the past few weeks. Mostly Greinke stuff, but this article made me a little disappointed. I'm not in it to make money though, so I guess it doesn't effect me...
  18. QUOTE (knightni @ Jun 4, 2009 -> 06:11 PM) You are more than welcome to post in other threads as well, HM. I probably would, if the "View New Posts" function actually worked. QUOTE (daa84 @ Jun 5, 2009 -> 08:21 AM) especially with the george brett avatar....god i love that swing Everybody seems to love George's swing. Verlander, Greinke, and Felix Hernandez all pitch tonight.
  19. So Jered Weaver had another good outing last night... 7 innings, 3 hits, 1 run, 1 earned, 2 walks, 10 strikeouts. 5-2 now, ERA down to 2.26...
  20. Halladay tonight... Complete game, 7 hits, 4 runs, 1 walk, and a career-high 14 strikeouts.
  21. Added King Felix to the graphic... Next starts: Buehrle: Thursday v. Oakland Greinke: Friday @ Toronto Hernandez: Tuesday v. Baltimore Jackson: Saturday v. Angels Verlander: Friday v. Los Angeles
