10/2 vs Detroit Tigers
Congrats to Sale! I also hope that this brings to light more of Walsh's accomplishments. I feel like he needs to be honored by the team. But damn, Sale is amazing.

CSN review Sox top 10 prospects 2015 season
QUOTE (Palehosefan @ Sep 29, 2015 -> 07:48 PM) I guess I missed the issues. Article wasn't anything overly detailed, but gets the point across to Sox fans that aren't inclined to follow the minors. Poorly written, basically reads like someone just read the boxscores. Example: Anderson's defense has improved this year enough that it seems like he'll stick. We know that due to first hand reports from both ourselves and prospect guys.

Thompson catch last night
QUOTE (Hatchetman @ Sep 30, 2015 -> 11:34 AM) he's always kept his head above water in the minors as he's moved up the ladder. wouldn't be surprised if he could do the same in the majors. if he can hit .250 45BB 15HR and play great D, HES ON THE TEAM FOR NEXT YEAR! That first apart isn't true. His time in Birmingham was dismal.

SoxNet: A Ray of Hope
As we wind down a disappointing, dismal season Dan Helpingstine revisits the ray of hope that the 1971 team had after the worst season in franchise history. Think we can get something similar to begin next year? http://www.chicagonow.com/soxnet/2015/09/1970-a-ray-of-hope/

White Sox official website has a possible Quintana trade chip post
QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 07:00 PM) or catcher. It should be both, to be honest. Like, the Hamel package + Gallo is what it should have been.

2015 Cubs Catch-All thread
QUOTE (bjm676 @ Sep 28, 2015 -> 01:20 PM) The white sox are lucky with Quintana. Just like they were lucky to get Rodon and lucky that Sale turned into Chris Sale. when it comes to the Sox scouting and player development, they are more lucky that any of their drafted players turn into MLB caliber players. This is Kenny Williams and Buddy Bell we are talking about. At some point give them credit for pitching. Q was a minor league free agent.

Trading an ace better bring back a hefty package.

Who will have the better career when it's all said and done?
To add to that, if you consider any of these pitchers aces, Q has been better the past three years: Jon Lester, Zack Greinke, Madison Bumgarner, Cole Hamels, Adam Wainwright, Jordan Zimmerman, Jake Arrieta, Dallas Keuchel, Stephen Strasburg, Matt Harvey, Justin Verlander, Anibal Sanchez, Gerritt Cole, Chris Archer Who's been better? Clayton Kershaw, David Price, Max Scherzer, Chris Sale, Corey Kluber, Felix Hernandez. Jose Quintana is an ace.

QUOTE (OmarComing25 @ Sep 25, 2015 -> 03:31 PM) It all really depends on what you define as a #1 pitcher. Some people see it as only pitchers who could compete for the Cy Young year in and year out, which makes it a very small group. Others see it as the top 30 SP in the game. Q qualifies in the second group for sure, but not by the first. He's a Top 10 pitcher. That's what I see as an ace.

QUOTE (LDF @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 05:26 PM) despite the ranking of Q, people need to stop at the urge to name him a #1 sp. Except he is...

Who will have the better career when it's all said and done?
QUOTE (Mike F. @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 04:34 PM) Even if Fulmer only ends up being a solid #4 starter (which is the worst case scenario IMO), that still gives the Sox a great rotation with Sale and Rodon as their aces and Quintana being a very solid #2 or #3 and then Fulmer behind him. Those 4 are pretty much locks to be in the rotation for the next 4-5 years, but I would have to think that at least one of Johnson, Beck, Danish, Adams, Montas, another prospect, etc will pan out and be a serviceable #5 guy at the very least. All in all, the Sox have a very bright future as far as their pitching staff goes. The lineup is another story. Over the past three years, Quintana is the 7th best pitcher in baseball. He's a #1 by defintion.

His Name Is Lazaro Robersy Armenteros Arango Or Simply "Lazarito&
QUOTE (Flash Tizzle @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 05:44 PM) I actually meant it in exactly the context I posted with, the White Sox are not actively drafting internationally compared to the league. The move we expect is for them to NOT be the highest bidder for this player. http://www.baseballamerica.com/internation...al-prospects-2/ Well there's no international draft. And they've been high bidders for a lot of big names

2015 Cubs Catch-All thread
QUOTE (Balta1701 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 11:27 AM) All right, I'm bumping this. Despite everything above...on September 12 the Cardinals lead was 6 games. On September 24, the Cardinals lead is 7 games. The Cardinals elimination number for knocking the Cubs out of the division is 4. The Cubs are on their way to the playoffs and about to clinch the wild card, but the Pirates lead on them has held steady and is up to 3 - the 2 teams have a 3 game series this weekend and unless the Cubs sweep or the Pirates fall apart the Cubs are likely to have to go to PNC park for the Wild Card. Cubs are best team ever.

QUOTE (SouthSideSale @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 11:09 AM) What? He's still young as f***. I meant his jersey name. QUOTE (Eminor3rd @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 11:58 AM) Srsly. I mean come on, we could have been chanting VIVA ZAPATA for years. Yup. Missed opportunity, Micker.

QUOTE (bmags @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 11:35 AM) I would love to have a Lazarito jersey. Sign him. Anything it takes. Jersey sales. I wanted Zapata, but we know how that worked out. Thanks, Adolfo.

Sale needs 11 K's to set Sox single season record
If Walsh didn't throw his arm out placing the team on his back, I have no doubt he'd have gone down as a GOAT pitcher. Let's not pretend like he wasn't sheer dominance for a few seasons.

The Democrat Thread
QUOTE (greg775 @ Sep 24, 2015 -> 12:07 AM) I'm not a sexist. I mean look, Carly ruined HP and I don't like these big-time CEOs of companies that get paid zillions of dollars when the little guy gets much less. Hillary? Geez. There are so many examples of her being just an elitist-type mean person. I don't want her in the White House, sorry. And ooops add Sarah Palin to my dislike/hate list. I mean I just don't like anything bout her, either. From her policies to her demeanor, me no likey Palin. Now Elizabeth Dole?? I love her. Class act. Wonderful! Give me some more choices. Not Florina and Hilly for gosh sakes. I respect many many people on soxtalk. I just don't see how anybody who likes a good hot dog and beer and ballgame, a down and dirty Chicago southsider, can be for somebody who comes across as so non-chicago as Hilly! Again, I will support women! Just not Hilly/Florina/Sarah. And as well all know, none of the Republican candidates are exhibiting elitist tendencies.
