  1. While players should know better but Boston and McEwing have been under 3 managers.
  2. So someone give me some logic as to what a manager would bat Pollock 2nd?
  3. His bat was no suppose to be important because they other guys were suppose to do the job.
  4. The problem with this team is the run differential is always small. That leaves for Tony, boneheaded play, someone's turn in the pen to choke, to ruin it. Odd though is when the put up a bunch of run they make up for it by losing the next day.
  5. I don't get it either. It's not like he's a Sox killer. Well he probably would be if the Sox signed him. But if TA signed with the Cards definitely.
  6. Like his so called future replacement? I don't know why I'm down on Vaughn but after a great game - 2 days rest. I'd think players would want to be on the field.
  7. LOL. We are referring to a team who doesn't have much of a playoff history. If you replace the Sox with Yankees, Red Sox, Dodgers, that would make more sense.
  8. Those were studs back in the days. It wasn't unusual for a manager left their top starters in for 10. That what you did with aces instead of wondering if you take them out after 5-6. Modern baseball is so pussified. I remember watching Nordagen would fall asleep behind the plate and forget there was a man on with a passed ball. I was at the game where the ball bounced off Leflore's head. Then there was the really good Sox in the 90's before the internet to get tickets and dad driving 90 minutes in hopes to get tickets Sox vs Yankees and being sold out. Bat day - no bobbleheads
  9. Then again stink spreads and it got to him. TA in a serious slump is not good. As for Vaughn I wonder if he is soft. Abreu wants to play everyday. So does Leury but he's bad at it.
  10. You must be thinking of a different organization.
  11. I guess Vaughn should be traded to the Wuss Sox,
  12. So after having a good game he's "under the weather"?
  13. It's a pipe dream. There's definitely no pressure to perform in the Sox organization.
  14. Fans assume there are other naive GMs not named Rick Hahn.
  15. If you are hitting like shit in a Yankees lineup I can't see that improving here.
  16. They need to be a little more serious in the FA market. Interesting that the teams that come out benefiting from the trade deadline are teams that are looking for supplements instead of dire need. The Sox will be seeking deals from a side of weakness. Once again they will try to use NL players to fill that need. Maybe, just maybe it will work this time. We are talking about a NL pitcher who has to learn a new set of hitters, parks, and catchers. That's not gonna work mid season. Paper is logical but history is reality.
  17. I'd say with plenty of things when a team is underachieving. I doubt this fanbase can endure being really bad in a bad division after getting these "big hauls" from other teams. I'm still puzzled over the management hiring.
  18. Ozzie might feel that way about other modern players like the ones with sore legs. These guys are so fragile. I remember watching Cabrera limping playing 3rd. Then there's a Abreu, I don't think a limb amputation would keep him off the field.
